COLDPLAY, MONKEYS & ALBARN DONATE MEMORABILIA FOR HAITI
British music acts COLDPLAY, ARCTIC MONKEYS and BLUR frontman DAMON ALBAR= N have all handed over merchandise for an online auction to raise funds f= or the Haiti earthquake appeal.
Items belonging to the rockers will go under the hammer on online aucti= on site eBay.com on Friday (22Jan09), giving fans the chance to own a pie= ce of rock history as well as making money to help the victims of last we= ek’s (12Jan09) earthquake.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has donated a signed military jacket he = wore throughout the band’s Viva La Vida tour, while Albarn will record a = "bespoke" track for whoever wins his bid.
The guitar Alex Turner played in Arctic Monkeys’ promo for debut single= I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor is also up for grabs.
All monies raised will go to the Oxfam emergency response in Haiti.
Martin says, "The people of Haiti will be desperate for help and assist= ance. You can make a donation at www.oxfam.org.uk."
