MAYER OPENS UP ABOUT ANISTON SPLIT
JOHN MAYER has opened about his split from on/off girlfriend JENNIFER ANI= STON, insisting he has "never really gotten over" the break-up, but he ju= st didn’t see himself settling down with the Hollywood actress.
The couple began dating in early 2008, but called off their romance lat= er that year (Aug08). They subsequently got back together, but ended the = relationship for good last March (09).
And the rocker insists he was the one who ended the love affair, admitt= ing he couldn’t imagine spending the rest of his life with the former Fri= ends star.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, =E2=80=9DI=E2=80=99ve never really got= ten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life. I have this weird = feeling, a pride thing, for the people I=E2=80=99ve had relationships wit= h. What would I be saying to Jen, who I think is f**king fantastic, if I = said to her, ‘I don=E2=80=99t dislike you. In fact, I like you extremely = well. But I have to back out of this because it doesn=E2=80=99t arc over = the horizon. This is not where I see myself for the rest of my life, this= is not my ideal destiny.’=E2=80=9D
