OPRAH WINFREY is facing a lawsuit from a flight attendant over allegations of a sky-high tryst on board the media mogul’s private jet.
Corrine Gehrls filed suit on Friday (09Oct09) claiming she was fired from her job after she was accused of engaging in "inappropriate intimate behaviour" with a pilot during a flight as Winfrey slept elsewhere in the cabin.
Gehrls, who worked on Winfrey’s private plane until July (09), alleges two other flight attendants hatched a plot to get her dismissed - accusing them of lying to Winfrey about the alleged onboard act.
She was subsequently fired along with Chief Pilot Terry Pansing.
Gehrls has filed suit against the star’s Harpo company, as well the two other members of the flight crew - named as Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus, who is the daughter of Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King.
The legal papers state, "Gooch and Bumpus falsely told Winfrey and Harpo that on the June 14, 2009 Harpo flight… Pansing and Gehrls had been observed having inappropriate intimate conduct outside the cockpit of the plane." Gehrls is asking for damages in excess of $75,000 (£50,000), according to TMZ.com.

Stars including SIR ELTON JOHN have paid tribute to late BOYZONE star STEPHEN GATELY who died suddenly on Saturday (10Oct09).
The 33 year old reportedly passed away in his sleep in Majorca, Spain, where he was on vacation with his partner Andrew Cowles.
Gately’s bandmates confirmed the sad news with a posting on the reformed Irish boyband’s website. The statement reads, "We are truly sorry to confirm that Stephen tragically died yesterday whilst on holiday, with his partner Andrew, in Majorca. (We) are devastated by the news and send (our) deepest sympathies to Stephen’s family and his many friends all over the world." The other boyband members are planning to fly to Majorca to mourn with the singer’s family and friends.
Lead singer Ronan Keating is expected to pull out of his run in the Chicago Marathon in Illinois on Sunday (11Oct09) to join his bandmates in Spain.
Gately’s close pal Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish were among the first to pay tribute to the tragic singer.
The Rocket Man says in a statement, "David and I are stunned by this tragedy. Stephen was the kindest, gentlest soul. We send our love and condolences to his partner Andy and to all his friends everywhere." Former Irish leader Bertie Ahern has also sent his sympathies: "The Gatelys are in my own constituency. I know the family, I know Stephen. Ronan Keating is a very good friend of my daughter’s, my family. It’s just such a tragedy." Boyzone manager Louis Walsh adds, "We’re all absolutely devastated. I’m in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don’t know much about what’s happened yet… He was a great man." The pop star hit the headlines a decade ago (99) when he ‘came out’ as a gay man and revealed his love for Dutch pop star Eloy de Jong in a British tabloid. The couple split in 2002.
In March, 2006 he wed businessman Andrew Cowles in a civil union.
Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1976, Gately joined Boyzone in 1993. As a member of the group, he enjoyed a string of hits in Britain and Europe and four number one albums before the band split in 2000.
As well as his career with the boyband, Gately also enjoyed solo success with his hit album New Beginning and forged a career on the stage as the star of London’s Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and as the villain in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
He was also a TV personality in Britain, appearing on hit U.K. shows including Dancing on Ice and soccer programme Match of The Day.

American model SAMANTHA BURKE has released the results of a DNA test which "conclusively" proves JUDE LAW fathered her baby.
The 24 year old hit headlines earlier this year (09) when it was revealed she had fallen pregnant after a brief fling with the actor while he was filming new movie Sherlock Holmes in New York.
Burke gave birth to little Sophia last month (22Sep09) and she went ahead with DNA testing to prove the child’s paternity.
The model’s representative, Eileen Kock, confirmed Law as Sophia’s father.
She says in a statement, "Samantha can confirm that DNA testing has conclusively established that Jude Law is Sophia’s father." Law’s publicist refused to comment on the statement, adding, "We don’t discuss this. We consider it an entirely private matter."

SIMON COWELL clashed with his fellow X FACTOR judge DANNII MINOGUE on Saturday night (10Oct09) after the Australian singer fuelled gossip about a contestant’s sexuality.
Danyl Johnson, who has been hit by a string of recent rumours he is bisexual, performed a version of Jennifer Hudson’s I’m Telling You in front of the judging panel on the British talent show, changing the lyrics to make the song relevant for a male singer.
But Minogue stunned TV viewers and the studio audience after he had finished by quipping, "If we’re to believe what we read in the papers, there was no need to switch the gender reference in the song." The singer’s comments sparked outrage amongst her fellow judges, including show creator Cowell who criticised her live on air.
He told Minogue, "What did you say? I’m not having you play games with him. He’s a good guy. He deserves a break." Bosses at the show have been flooded with complaints since the incident, with many viewers calling for Minogue to be sacked from her role as a judge.

Former OASIS frontman LIAM GALLAGHER quit drugs last November (08) for the sake of his children - because his late-night binges were beginning to affect his role as a father.
The singer has three children - Molly, 11, with ex Lisa Moorish, Lennon, 10, with ex-wife Patsy Kensit, and Gene, eight, with current wife Nicole Appleton.
Gallagher, 37, admits he has indulged in illegal substances for the last 20 years but finally gave up his bad habits in 2008 when he realised his wild ways were having a negative impact on his family.
He says, "I’ve knocked all that on the head (given all that up) since last November. You must remember that I’ve caned it (partied hard) for 20 years and not just on the sauce (alcohol) but with all sorts. But I’ve had a great time and now I’m having a break. It doesn’t work with kids, man. You wake up the next day after a session and you’re looking for bits of your kids’ homework and football boots. You’re all over the place - it’s rubbish."

TEXAS guitarist ALISTAIR MCERLAINE has made a vital breakthrough in his fight for life following a recent brain haemorrhage - he has been taken off a life support machine.
The 40 year old collapsed suddenly in September (09) and was admitted to hospital in London where he underwent an operation to relieve pressure on his brain.
McErlaine has spent a month in an intensive care unit since the surgery and doctors have now deemed him well enough to breathe unaided.
Texas manager Rab Andrew is delighted with the musician’s progress. He says, "On Wednesday Alistair made a great breakthrough and was taken out of intensive care. He has now got rid of any viruses that may have been lurking and is thankfully off his life-support machine. He has a really long way to go but it is great that he is off the danger list..
"He has made good progress to get this far. The doctors don’t know yet how long the recovery will take but he is alive and that is just the first step." Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri said at the time of McErlaine’s collapse: "I am thinking of Ally and all of his family at this time. My thoughts are with them. Like everyone else, I am desperately hoping Ally will get well and pull through. It is a shock. He is a personal friend and all of us are wishing him well with all our hearts."

HARRY CONNICK, JR. cancelled an appearance at a shopping centre in Sydney on Saturday (10Oct09) amid safety fears following his criticism of a controversial Australian comedy skit.
A group of performers, dubbed the Jackson Jive, left Connick, Jr. dumbstruck on long-running Australian show Hey Hey It’s Saturday, after they painted their faces black and danced behind a Michael Jackson wannabe, who donned white face paint.
The routine caused controversy over the globe, with many praising Connick, Jr.’s anti-racism stance after he admitted he "definitely wouldn’t have done" the show if he had known about the act.
But the star’s reaction provoked a backlash from some, with a string of abusive comments posted online following the incident, prompting his management to cancel a planned appearance at Sydney’s Castle Towers shopping centre.
A source tells the Sydney Morning Herald, "They just decided because of the controversy, it probably wasn’t a wise thing to do. From a management point of view, what they were reading online, they were getting quite worried about it.'’ Connick, Jr. has confirmed he will honour the rest of his TV commitments in Australia before he leaves the country as planned on Monday (12Oct09).

Incarcerated rapper T.I. was the toast of the BET Awards on Saturday night (10Oct09) - accepting two honours from his jail cell.
The rapper is currently serving a 366-day sentence at an Arkansas penitentiary following his conviction on weapons charges.
He recently saw his debut CD, Paper Trail, shoot up the charts and now the record has earned him a BET Award for Album of the Year.
The ceremony at the Atlanta Civic Center in Georgia also saw the shamed star honoured with the Best Collaboration award for his track Live Your Life, with Rihanna.
T.I.’s fiance Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle picked up the prizes on his behalf and read a letter which the star penned from his prison cell.
The rapper wrote, "Although I’m not there with you all, I’m there in spirit. My road to redemption is almost over… thanks for the support." Kanye West was another notable absence - he failed to show up at the ceremony, despite being nominated for nine awards.
Other prizes throughout the night went to rap superstar Jay-Z, who was handed the MVP of the Year award, Ice Cube who received the I Am Hip-Hop Icon honour, and Drake, who was named Rookie of the Year.
Tragic Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein, who died in August (09), was posthumously honoured at the show as he was named DJ of the Year.

Tragic BOYZONE star STEPHEN GATELY was happy and busy in the days leading up to his sudden death on Saturday (10Oct09) - he was concentrating on completing a book while holidaying in Majorca, Spain.
After attending the Pride of Britain Awards on 5 October (09), the Irish pop star jetted off on vacation, telling fans he wouldn’t be posting updates online for some time.
In his final Twitter.com entry on 6 October (09), Gately wrote, "still busy - lots going on. Focussing (sic) on finishing my book next so may be quiet here." The singer was found dead on Saturday (10Oct09). Details of the tragedy have not been released.
Boyzone bandmate Shane Lynch, who is heading to Majorca to mourn Gately’s passing with family and friends, cannot believe the sad news.
He tells the News of The World, "We just need to get over to where he’s passed and work out what we need to do." Fellow bandmate Keith Duffy adds, "I feel like my world has fallen apart." A Boyzone publicist has confirmed the sad news.

Police investigating the sudden death of BOYZONE star STEPHEN GATELY have dismissed rumours of foul play - insisting there are "no signs of suspicious circumstances� surrounding the tragedy.
Gately’s body was found at the holiday home he co-owned with his partner Andrew Cowles on the Spanish island of Majorca on Saturday (10Oct09). The couple was reportedly enjoying a vacation there at the time of the tragedy.
Reports claim the 33-year-old singer may have died in his sleep following a night out.
Local police insist the exact cause of death remains unclear, but there are "no signs of suspicious circumstances," according to the Irish Times.
Local reports suggest foul play and suicide have been ruled out and there was no evidence of drug use at the apartment. A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out on Tuesday (13Oct09) after the Spanish public holiday on Monday (12Oct09).
Gately’s Boyzone bandmates are expected to fly out to the island on Sunday (11Oct09).

British actress/model LILY COLE is set to make her theatre debut in KEVIN SPACEY’s latest creative venture in London’s West End.
The St. Trinians star will tackle Spacey’s annual 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala at the British capital’s Old Vic theatre, where he serves as artistic director.
Spacey says, "The 24 Hour Plays always give audiences a rollercoaster ride of performances. It’s an electrifying experience at the theatre and I’m thrilled that so many great people have thrown their hats into the ring this year." The production will take place on 1 November (09).

Troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE reportedly checked into a London clinic on Saturday (10Oct09), complaining of pain from a recent breast enhancement surgery.
The singer is said to have undergone an uplift procedure to boost her assets in a bid to look her best while performing on U.K. TV contest Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.

"The doctors ordered her to stay overnight to make sure everything was OK. She only had her breasts lifted a few days ago and she should have been resting to let them heal instead of running around town.� The newspaper alleges Winehouse was discharged on Sunday (11Oct09).

Actress ROBIN GIVENS has urged RIHANNA to sever all ties with CHRIS BROWN, recalling her own abusive relationship with ex-husband MIKE TYSON.
The Head Of Class star married the former heavyweight champion in 1988 and hit the headlines after revealing their relationship was filled with violence before they divorced just a year later.
Givens was stunned by a police photo of Rihanna which leaked online - showing the singer’s bloodied and bruised face from Brown’s vicious attack earlier this year (09) - but she’s using her own experience to advise the pop star to end all contact with Brown once and for all.
She tells OKmagazine.com, "I can say that I was the same age, in a very public situation. I have to say that I understand how you can go back (to an abusive lover). I do understand. The first time I was hit, I wasn’t married, and I went back. It becomes your project to fix this, and make it right, and make their lives okay. They really have to work on themselves by themselves before you can really engage in a healthy relationship. Know that before you make any decisions.
"When I see that picture of her (Rihanna), I think, ‘This is unacceptable.’ We can’t say, ‘What did she do? What did she say to him? Was she looking at his phone?’ And I use her name now, but somebody is going through this right now. It’s unacceptable." BARBRA STREISAND has scored a transatlantic double after storming to the top of the U.K. album chart this week (ends11Oct09).
Streisand’s Love Is The Answer, her 63rd release, entered at number one on Sunday (11Oct09), just three days after the singer thanked American fans for putting her back at the top of the U.S. countdown.
The album is Streisand’s sixth album to hit number one in the U.K.

ANGELINA JOLIE is the latest star tipped to join an upcoming remake of cult 2005 French thriller ANTHONY ZIMMER.
Both Charlize Theron and Tom Cruise were signed to star in the project, to be retitled The Tourist, which tells the story of a female agent on the hunt for an elusive ex-boyfriend, who becomes a wanted man.
Cruise pulled out of the film to star in Wichita with Cameron Diaz, and was replaced by Sam Worthington.
Tomb Raider star Jolie is the latest star to enter the film’s revolving door and is in negotiations to fill in for original leading lady Theron after she dropped out.

ANTONIO BANDERAS is revving up for a new career - he’s launching his own motorcycling team.
The Spanish star is investing in a team to compete in the Moto2 league, a new category in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing league that’s slated to begin next year (10).
Banderas plans to hire rider Joan Olive as well as one other racer for the team, which he will either name the Banderas Racing Team or Team Antonio Banderas.
He says, "I have always been passionate about this world and the opportunity came along and I didn’t hesitate. I will try to give my best to the riders in this new category so that they can work in the best conditions." The Desperado star has been a motorcycling enthusiast for the last 30 years and is said to own a number of bikes in his personal collection.
