The Bulgarian 25 year old who found BOYZONE star STEPHEN GATELY’s body hasn’t been able to sleep since the tragedy - because every time he closes his eyes he recalls the moment he found the pop star dead.
Georgi Petrov Dochev was staying with the singer and his husband Andy Cowles at their apartment in Majorca, Spain when Gately died on Saturday (10Oct09) - and he was the one who woke to find the body.
He reveals he has been suffering insomnia ever since, telling Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, "I almost have not slept since this happened.
"I found Stephen dead and I woke his husband. Stephen was white and very cold when I found him. I am still nervous and really upset." Dochev reportedly met Gately and Cowles in a gay club called Black Cat and was invited back to their apartment.
Gately’s Boyzone bandmates have checked into a Palma, Majorca hotel and are awaiting the results of an autopsy before helping to ship their dead friend’s body back to his native Ireland.
Unofficial reports suggest Gately choked on his own vomit after drinking heavily on Friday night (09Oct09). Police have confirmed there were no signs of violence or drug-taking at the apartment and no evidence of suicide.

Former boxer MIKE TYSON wants to sit down with EVANDER HOLYFIELD and apologise properly for biting off a piece of the fighter’s ear.
The heavyweight champ was banned from the ring and vilified for chomping down on Holyfield during a 1997 grudge match, and during an interview on U.S. TV show Oprah on Monday (12Oct09), Tyson confessed he never sincerely said sorry to his former opponent for his moment of madness.
He explained, "I apologised to him… but it wasn’t sincere… Everybody in my crew was getting on my nerves, so I said, ‘OK, I apologise’.
"I just always wanted to have a place to sit down and talk to him and shake his hand and express myself to him. When I see him sometimes, he’s a little leery of me… it’s not the good energy.
"I just want to apologise. I’ve known him for such a long time… I was just upset (with what I did)."

The fourth PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie will be based on fantasy author TIM POWERS’ 1987 novel about a group of buccaneers searching for the fabled fountain of youth.
Powers was ordered to keep quiet about the title of the Johnny Depp project after signing a deal to turn his book, On Stranger Tides, into the latest Pirates adventure - but recently confessed all after the actor and former Disney boss Dick Cook announced the movie at last month’s (Sep09) D23 Expo in California.
He tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "About a week ago, my agent wrote and said, ‘You’re now able to say that in fact Disney did option the book.’ That happened a while ago.
"I’m thrilled. I think it’s great." Powers’ story follows the exploits of puppeteer’s son Jack ‘Shandy’ Chandagnac, who sets sail for Jamaica to seek out an uncle who stole his family fortune and gets captured by pirates and becomes a reluctant member of infamous buccaneer Blackbeard’s crew.

Actor GERARD BUTLER loves showing off his bum on the big screen - because he’s proud of his finest asset.
But the Scot fears moviegoers think an a**-baring scene is written into his contract - just so he can get naked.
He tells WENN, "I love to show my rear end in roles. I fear it’s becoming a bit of a habit, a tradition that I have to show my a** in every movie that I can." Butler bares all in new film Law Abiding Citizen and admits that scene was very much in keeping with his character in the film.
He adds, "This was always a great scene in the movie and actually speaks volumes about this character and part of the wackiness and unexpectedness that happens… He’s completely unpredictable and so when he strips off it makes sense.
"I mean there’s a genius behind that and if it means I have to bare my ass again than so be it.
"I’ve always had a skinny, tight a** but I had to bulk up for this film; I was inspired by watching (Robert) DeNiro in Taxi Driver during the scene where he’s doing the push-ups and he’s so cut. A lot more is said in that than somebody just being big and kind of a meathead." But Butler admits he doesn’t always enjoy the work that comes as he prepares to bulk up for a movie role: "Whenever I make those decisions to be naked, I go, ‘Oh s**t here’s another three months of being on a diet and getting that body back!’"

MIKE TYSON has opened up about his volatile relationship with his first wife, actress ROBIN GIVENS, confessing he wanted to "sock" her for what she said to U.S. interviewer BARBARA WALTERS in a famous 1988 TV special.
The former boxer, who Givens later accused of physically abusing her before divorcing him, admits he felt stupid as he sat by his wife’s side while she poked fun at him and accused him of being violent towards her on national television.
Looking back, he wishes he had stopped the actress and spoken for himself - but he was so angry he feared he’d lose control of his emotions in front of TV cameras.
Appearing on U.S. TV talk show Oprah on Monday (12Oct09), Tyson said, "I truly wanted to sock her… but I just didn’t do it. I was young at the time… I have socked her before and she socked me before, but it was just that kind of relationship, you know." And while show host Oprah Winfrey attempted to contemplate the type of damage Tyson could do in a fight with a woman, the former champ said, "Robin is a very tough woman… and she can be very mean as well. She’s no easy pushover at all." The former boxer also revealed he was a terrible husband and cheated on his first two wives because he "didn’t understand marriage" - but the failure of his relationship with Givens left him "devastated".
He added, "I was just a young kid and I’d never been in that degree of matrimony before. It just devastated me. I wasn’t prepared for any kind of emotional struggle like that at all." Givens and Tyson split after just eight months. The actress is now the spokeswoman for America’s National Domestic Violence Hotline.
Tyson wed his third wife Lakiha Spicer this summer (Jun09) and insists this time he’s ready to be a good husband: "I realised that I was just gonna die if I didn’t settle down with my wife… This Iron Mike guy was gonna be finished."

LINDSAY LOHAN has blasted reports of another jewellery scandal, following rumours she infuriated fashion bosses by failing to return loaned designer accessories.
The Mean Girls star was said to have borrowed pieces from jeweller Arielle de Pinto during Paris Fashion Week earlier this month (Oct09) but left France without returning them as she had promised.
Now the actress has taken to her Twitter.com page to brush off rumours she stole the items.
Lohan writes, "That’s a lame lie. Especially considering the people at the company are my friends and we laughed at this. F for failed attempt." It’s the third missing jewellery scandal Lohan has been caught up in this year (09) - in June (09) editors at Britain’s Elle magazine defended the star after pieces were stolen from her covershoot for the publication.
Two months later (Aug09), a Beverly Hills jeweller threatened to sue the 23 year old if she didn’t return the $2 million (£1.3 million) worth of gems he loaned her for an event.

The gangsters who kidnapped a close friend of pop star LILY ALLEN have been jailed.
A group of six thugs were imprisoned for up to 12-years each on Monday (12Oct09) at the British capital’s Southwark Crown Court for their participation in a kidnapping plot last August (08).
Allen’s 25-year-old male pal and a teenager were blindfolded and handcuffed while working in a London clothes store, before being taken to an unknown address and held hostage for a week as the gang demanded a ransom of $135,000 (£90,000) from their respective families.
Police burst into a East London flat after a tip-off and released the hostages.
The Smile singer’s pal, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has admitted, "I thought they were going to kill me." Authorities are still seeking two other men believed to be involved with the crime, while another three have been arrested.

I had to wedge it open myself. That wasn�t part of the show.
â��That was brute strength and now heavy nerves, shifting something I probably wouldnâ��t be able to move in the cold light of day. So thereâ��s a bad start. I had a whole pose planned and what not. But that went out of the window.â�� A spokesperson has assured fans there is no need to worry about Williams’ health, explaining, "He was excited to be on the show and this came across in his performance."

THE STROKES star NIKOLAI FRAITURE is hoping to fulfil a childhood ambition after signing up to run the New York Marathon next month (Nov09).
The bassist, 30, is hitting the streets to raise money for the New York Road Runners Foundation’s Team For Kids charity, and he’s asking fans to sponsor him in the run.
In a post on his blog, he writes, "I will be helping raise the funds needed to support youth fitness, goal-setting and nutrition programs throughout America and Africa while fulfilling, as a New Yorker, a life-long dream of running the marathon." LADY GAGA is teaming up with the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet company and an Italian artist to stage a contemporary art performance.
The Poker Face singer will star in the piece, conceived by artist Francesco Vezzoli, along with members of the prestigious dance troupe at Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art’s 30th anniversary gala.
And Vezzoli is confident spectators will be stunned by the "surreal" showing.
He says of the upcoming performance, "They (MoCA organisers) basically offered me a social ritual as a blank canvas to be turned into an artwork. Some artists might see this as a nightmare, but for me it’s like a surreal dream, and in true surreal style I wanted to mix together the youngest and most daring pop icon, Lady Gaga, with the oldest and most classically trained group of dancers in the world, the Bolshoi Ballet. The output will be flawlessly imperfect and unpredictable, just like any overambitious happening should be." The performance is due to take place at the museum on 14 November (09).

The mourning members of BOYZONE were forced to return to their native Ireland without STEPHEN GATELY’s body.
The grief-stricken stars - Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy - flew to Majorca on Sunday (11Oct09), a day after Gately was found dead in the holiday home he shared with partner Andy Cowles.
They were said to have pledged to bring their pal’s body back to Dublin - but they had no choice but to fly back to their homeland on Monday (12Oct09) after they were refused access to the morgue.
Officials explained to the band it may be several days until the tragic star’s body will be released for repatriation to Ireland, reports Britain’s The Sun.
The pop stars instead spent their time on the Spanish island comforting distraught Cowles, according to the newspaper.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out on Tuesday (13Oct09).

British actress MAGGIE JONES is critically ill in a hospital after rupturing her spleen in a fall.
The 75-year-old star, who stars in longrunning U.K. soap Coronation Street, is fighting for her life at the Hope Hospital in Manchester, England after suffering a tumble at her home on Sunday (11Oct09).
She was forced to undergo major surgery after she was admitted and is now said to be critically ill.

Veteran actress DAME JUDI DENCH has scolded young actors for ignoring the theatre and seeking instant fame as movie stars.
The Shakespeare in Love star insists the new generation of performers needs to hone their skills by working in live productions rather than chasing big-screen stardom.
Speaking at the U.K.’s Cheltenham Literature Festival on Saturday (10Oct09), Dench told the audience, "The majority of young actors want to make a big impression in television or film straight away. I wish that young people now - and it’s not very fashionable - learnt a bit about our fantastic heritage of theatre and the people who’ve gone before, learnt a bit about the history of the theatre, because it’s phenomenal. It is nowhere better in the world than here.
"We have such a huge history of the most extraordinary performances and productions and directors and actors and designers, everything that I wish wasn’t forgotten. It is not forgotten by a lot of people but it is forgotten by most young people coming up. There’s always something to learn. It’s so exciting to read about the history of other people in the part." The 74 year old insists she improved by observing her co-stars from backstage, adding, "I never used to go to my dressing room. We used to always stand in the wings and watch other people."

ZACH BRAFF has been forced to speak out following a string of vicious internet reports which suggested he had committed suicide.
Rumours claiming the Scrubs star had died began circulating after a fake CNN news page was posted on social networking site Twitter.com on Monday (12Oct09).
The bogus report alleged Braff was found dead with "an empty pill bottle at his side" in an apparent suicide.
But the actor quickly took to the web to reassure his.
In a post on his official Facebook.com page, he writes, "Hi. I’m very much alive. Total internet rumour. Amazing how fast one douche can spread a lie. Be careful out there on the internet friends. Please spread the word… Video of me holding today’s paper to follow… Love, zb" The star later posted a video in which he jokes about the hoax with his Scrubs co-star Donald Faison.
In the clip, Braff quips, "I’m alive! There was a big internet rumour today that I was dead… It’s not the case, I’m here at Scrubs shooting the new Scrubs title sequence, which is a little bit like dying, so I guess that was semi-accurate.
"Also I would never off myself with pills. If I had to do it, I’d do it the way that everyone else would do it - by hitting myself with pots and pans.
"A couple of inaccuracies you should have noticed when you saw the thing, if you believed it - the dude said I was found in my 32,000 square foot estate in Beverly Hills - but I’m not Oprah! That’s a big house! "I just want to say to the douchebag who started this: You win my first ever douche of the day award for making my mom upset!"

ROBIN GIVENS admires her ex-husband MIKE TYSON for opening up about their violent relationship during a candid U.S. TV interview.
The actress wed the former boxer in 1988 and accused him of physically abusing her before they divorced just a year later.
The former heavyweight champion appeared on U.S. TV talk show Oprah on Monday (12Oct09) and discussed his volatile relationship with Givens, admitting he struggled to cope with his emotions at the time - and wanted to "sock" his ex during an infamous TV special.
Givens, the current spokeswoman for America’s National Domestic Violence Hotline, has since forgiven her former spouse and hopes the chat will remind people that Tyson is a "work in progress".
She tells OKmagazine.com, "I think it’s (interview) great. Michael was such a hero, and, to many people, he still is.
"We’re all a work in progress. There was a time I remember when Michael did an interview, and said the best punch he ever threw was against me. It was the first time he hit me. He remembered it exactly. He hit me on the head, and I went bouncing from one wall to another, and then I was out.
"It was interesting for me to have him remember it and recite it so vividly… I think you can, in life, move forward. He’s a father and a husband. I think it would be helpful to a lot of people." In his chat with Oprah Winfrey, Tyson acknowledged he had struck Givens, but added the actress was just as abusive towards him: "Robin is a very tough woman… and she can be very mean as well. She’s no easy pushover at all."
