DIDDY PREFERS FINE WINE AND FRIENDS TO WILD PARTIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

Rap mogul SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has ditched his party man reputation - because he’d prefer to enjoy fine wine with a small group of close friends.
The Bad Boy Records boss is famous for throwing lavish parties for friends and celebrities, but he suggests that part of his life may soon be a thing of the past.
He says, "You’ll more likely find me drinking a nice vintage bottle of wine and there probably aren’t as many people around - I sort of became bored with a lot of them.
"It’s just different. But I still got the same spirit and the same swagger." And Diddy tells Black Book magazine when he does go to the occasional party, he’s sensible about how he gets there.
He adds, "It’s better for me to have a driver… I don’t want to drink and drive."

CAREY WAS CONVINCED SHE’D BE DEAD BY NOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

MARIAH CAREY feels blessed to be alive - she never thought she’d live to see her 40th birthday.
The singer turned 40 in March (09) and admits she celebrated more than most.
She says, "Honestly, I never thought I’d live this long." The Without You singer tells In Touch magazine, "I have always been grateful for everything I had, but my personal life was a mess. So many artists just exist for their careers and then burn out quickly.
"I always thought that I wouldn’t be here at this point. I was thinking, ‘OK, I’ve got another year of my life left. This has got to be the end of it.’" Meeting and marrying rapper/actor Nick Cannon made Carey stop thinking so negatively.
She explains, "He was like, ‘Stop talking like that.’ I have been obsessed with the whole Marilyn Monroe thing my whole life - all those artists who died young." And Carey admits she shared her gloomy outlook with the late Michael Jackson: "At one point, we talked about that stuff. I can’t reveal what he thought. But yes, we had a conversation about it once."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:54 am

THE POLICE drummer STEWART COPELAND isn’t ruling out a second reunion for the iconic eighties act - because anything could happen in the next 50 years.
The warring trio put aside their differences to thrill fans around the world with reunion dates in 2007 and 2008, marking their 30th anniversary as a band.
When the shows wrapped up with a concert in New York City, frontman Sting insisted there would never be any more dates.
But drummer Copeland isn’t so sure: "Who knows. I mean, I intend to be on the planet here for another 50 years; who knows what’ll happen.
"To escape from The Police, we had to melt down the cage and… dismantle the huge behemoth that grew up around the band. The three of us had to get away from it. As to whether or not we do it again, who knows."

FRENCH OFFICIALS INSIST POLANSKI IS ‘NOT ABOVE’ THE LAW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

The French government has moved to dismiss comments a senior politician made, suggesting Swiss officials should release ROMAN POLANSKI, branding his child sex crime "a serious case".
The director was detained by authorities in Zurich, Switzerland on Saturday (26Sep09), 31 years after U.S. police issued a warrant for his arrest.
Polanski is now fighting extradition to the U.S., where he faces sentencing after pleading guilty to unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977. He fled the country in 1978 after claiming the judge in the case had reneged on a plea bargain, and took up residence in France.
On Monday (28Sep09), French culture minister Frederic Mitterrand claimed Polanski should not be subjected to "a new ordeal".
A spokesperson from his office said, "(Mitterrand is) stunned. (He) strongly regrets that a new ordeal is being inflicted on someone who has already experienced so many of them." Now French President Nicolas Sarkozy has waded into the debate - his representatives are insisting Polanski should not be given any special treatment.
In a statement issued on Wednesday (30Sep09), government spokesman Luc Chatel said the Rosemary’s Baby filmmaker was "neither above nor below the law", although he claimed Sarkozy’s team sympathised with the nature of Polanski’s arrest.
The rep adds, "A judicial procedure is under way concerning a serious case, the rape of a minor, and the U.S. and Swiss justice systems are doing their work.
"On the other hand, there’s emotion, and we can understand the emotion stirred up by this belated arrest, more than 30 years after the events, and the method of the arrest." Polanski’s victim Samantha Geimer, has previously asked for the charges to be dropped.
