ANDERSON’S FINANCIAL RUIN RUMOURS CONTINUE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

PAMELA ANDERSON has reignited rumours she is suffering money trouble - after she was snapped leaving a financial consulting company.
The Baywatch star fought back against reports she is facing bankruptcy after it was claimed she owed $1 million (£666,670) in unpaid taxes and construction bills.
Anderson insisted Los Angeles County court liens filed by five construction companies who had worked on her Malibu home were in the process of being sorted.
She added that the unpaid tax bills were "miscalculations" and that she was "financially secure".
But Anderson has fuelled the gossup - she paid a visit to a California financial consultancy organisation on Thursday (01Oct09) for a meeting.

BLANCHETT’S INDIAN SUMMER GETS THE GO AHEAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

CATE BLANCHETT’s new movie about Lady Edwina Mountbatten’s alleged affair with India’s first Prime Minister JAWAHARLAL NEHRU has been given the OK to commence filming following a review of the film’s plot and script.
Indian film officials feared the period romance Indian Summer would not show the beloved Nehru in a good light and insisted on checking out the project before granting producers access to locations.
The production was put on hold to allow government officials to see how the affair between Nehru and Mountbatten, the wife of the last British viceroy of India, would be played out.
A source tells WENN, "After scrutinising the script, the officials wanted some incidents removed, like the Nehru-Edwina kiss and their being in the bed together (sic).
"The makers have also been told to state that the film is a fictional work, and any changes in the script should seek pre-approval." Last month (Sep09), Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed welcomed the caution surrounding the film, telling WENN, "While we welcome Hollywood attempts to show India’s history on the big screen, we’d urge the filmmakers to portray India’s historical events authentically.
"We’d ask them not to re-imagine India’s history just for mercantile greed." The film is set to be released in 2011.

Pop star KATY PERRY is the latest beauty to fall for the charms of comic RUSSELL BRAND - she was reportedly whisked away on a romantic trip to Thailand with the British funnyman.
The pair was rumoured to have hooked up at last month’s (Sep09) MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
But things heated up after Brand sent the I Kissed A Girl star a poem, and when asked to reply with an equally melodic verse, Perry sent back a snap of her cleavage emblazoned with the words ‘poem’.
And the duo got on so well, they decided to jet to Thailand for a romantic break, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
A source tells the publication, "Russell has fancied Katy for ages. When they were both in New York for the music awards, Russell finally got his chance to work his charm on her.
"Katy knows his bad boy reputation but could not resist - especially when Russell sent a love poem with a note attached saying, ‘Please send me a poem back.’ "Russell killed himself laughing when Katy sent a photo of her boobs with the word ‘poem’ scrawled across them.
"The next minute Russell picked up the phone and invited her to Thailand for a secret getaway."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

Former INXS rocker JON STEVENS is battling complications from his open heart surgery three weeks after the operation.
The singer, who fronted the Australian band for three years following the death of Michael Hutchence in 1997, was rushed to hospital in September (09) after doctors discovered a blockage in one of his main arteries during a routine check-up.
He underwent the procedure at a hospital in Sydney, Australia and was initially expected to make a full recovery.
However, the star has taken a turn for the worse, with his rep releasing a statement to explain how Stevens’ condition has "deteriorated" in subsequent weeks.
The star’s spokesperson Simon Lucas says, "The operation was a success, however Jon’s condition has deteriorated and his recovery has been hampered due to some post-operative complications - primarily fluid around the heart and infection." But Lucas adds that with friends and family around him, Stevens is coping: "He’s a bit physically and mentally battered around, but he’s doing really well."

CLEESE HITS THE TOUR TRAIL TO PAY FOR DIVORCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

MONTY PYTHON legend JOHN CLEESE has been forced back on the road - after he was ordered to hand over a huge chunk of his fortune to his third wife in their divorce settlement.
The British star gave Alyce Faye Eichelberger $12 million (£8 million) in cash and assets - including a New York apartment, a London property, and a share in a beach house in California - on top of $918,000 (£612,000) annually for the next seven years.
Cleese made no secret of his anger at the judge’s decision, insisting at the time of the divorce in August (09) that Eichelberger’s children would get more than his if they both died.
Now, Cleese has decided to open a one-man show in Oslo, Norway in a bid to recoup some of his lost wealth.
And the 69 year old takes aim at his ex in an interview with a Norwegian newspaper, admitting he would rather be enjoying his retirement than hitting the road to earn cash.
He says, "I get angry that I have to pack my trunk, just to go away to make money.
"That I, at my age, would have to plan my life anew to pay her all the money she is to get for the next seven years - well, it irritates me.
"I’d rather have been drinking coffee, reading books and writing. I can’t afford that now." The show, entitled A Ludicrous Evening with John Cleese…, will run for seven nights in Oslo, before heading to the U.S.

ALLEY BLASTS POLANSKI SUPPORTERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:39 am

Former CHEERS actress KIRSTIE ALLEY is one star not supporting filmmaker ROMAN POLANSKI as he battles extradition to the U.S. to face sentencing for a 32-year-old sex crime.
The Chinatown director, who fled America in 1978 on the eve of sentencing, has lived in exile in France for 30 years, but he was caught out while attending a film festival in Zurich on Saturday (26Sep09).
Swiss police took him into custody and plan to send Polanski back to the U.S., where he faces sentencing after pleading guilty to unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Woody Allen, Penelope Cruz and Harvey Weinstein are among the celebrities insisting the officials release Polanski, but Alley doesn’t share their thoughts.
Even though the teenager the moviemaker had unlawful sex with has since forgiven Polanski, insisting he doesn’t deserve a jail sentence, Alley suggests he should face justice.
In a post on her Twitter.com account, she writes, "JUST FOR THE RECORD… RAPE IS RAPE… This is one Hollywood star who does not CELEBRATE or DEFEND Roman Polanski."

STEWART: ‘I WISH I WAS A NORMAL PERSON’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:39 am

TWILIGHT sensation KRISTEN STEWART is struggling with fame - insisting her life has been "boring" since she became a paparazzi target.
Stewart and her on-screen lover Robert Pattinson have both found it difficult adjusting to their meteoric rise to superstardom, after the first movie in the vampire franchise achieved international cult status.
But the actress insists her life hasn’t become something to envy - and wishes she could just "be like a normal person".
She tells Interview magazine, "I’d like to take more walks after work, instead of having to come back to my hotel room and not leave. So it can be boring.
"I’ve been working as an actress since I was very young, and I know a lot of people who are actors who don’t have to deal with having a persona.
"The whole meaning of the word is that it’s made up, and it’s like I didn’t even get to make up my own. It can be annoying.
"Some nights, I think, ‘You know what? I don’t care. I’m just going to do what I want to do.’ Then the next day I think, ‘Ugh. Now everyone thinks I’m going out to get the attention.’ But it’s like, no, I actually, for a second, thought that maybe I could be like a normal person."

LETTERMAN VICTIM OF EXTORTION PLOT OVER AFFAIRS WITH STAFF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:39 am

U.S. talkshow veteran DAVID LETTERMAN testified in front of a grand jury on Thursday (01Oct09) after falling victim to an extortion plot over his sexual affairs.
The Late Show host revealed to his studio audience during Thursday’s show that he was targeted by an unknown individual who had details of Letterman’s intimate relations with some female employees.
The blackmailer demanded $2 million (£1.3 million) to keep the information out of the public domain.
Letterman claims he contacted officials at the Special Prosecution Bureau of the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, who went as far as to issue a false cheque to the blackmailer.
The star was then asked to provide a testimony for the city’s grand jury, in which he confirmed he had had sexual encounters with several members of his team.
Letterman told viewers, "This morning, I did something I’ve never done in my life. I had to go downtown and testify before a grand jury.
"Yes I have (had sex with employees). Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would. I feel like I need to protect these people - I need to certainly protect my family." Letterman married longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko in March (09). It is not known when the flings occurred.
A suspect was arrested on Thursday in connection with the extortion plot.

CANNON STIRS UP EMINEM FEUD, CALLS FOR AN ‘OLD-SCHOOL SIT-DOWN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

MARIAH CAREY’s protective husband NICK CANNON has stirred up his feud with EMINEM by telling the rapper he’s lucky the two haven’t met.
Eminem upset Cannon with comments he made about him in the lyrics of his Bagpipes From Baghdad track, suggesting he still had feelings for Carey and the young entrepreneur and entertainer "better back the f**k up". He also called the R&B star a ‘c**t’ and Cannon a ‘pr**k’ on the track.
Cannon, who wed the Hero singer last year (08) after a whirlwind romance, fumed over the lyrics and vowed Eminem’s words will have "repercussions".
The Stan hitmaker later played down his war of words with Cannon, admitting his lyrics were "a little harsh" and insisted he totally understood the the rapper/actor’s reaction.
But Cannon is refusing to let the matter lie, lashing out at Eminem in a new In Touch magazine article.
He tells the publication, "He’s lucky I haven’t run into him yet. I’m supposed to protect my woman if someone can be so heinous and disrespectful. Until we speak, I don’t respect him as a man. He and I need to have an old-school sit-down."

ACCUSED PARAMEDIC CONVINCED TRAVOLTA ‘INTENTIONALLY KILLED’ SON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

The paramedic accused of attempting to extort $25 million (£17.2 million) from JOHN TRAVOLTA was convinced the actor had "intentionally killed" his teenage son, according to the star’s attorney.
Tarino Lightbourne and his lawyer, former Bahamian Senator Pleasant Bridgewater, are on trial in Nassau facing charges of conspiracy to extort millions from the grieving actor following Jett’s death from a fatal seizure in January (09).
Travolta’s attorney Michael McDermott took the stand on Thursday (01Oct09) to testify and revealed the details of the bribery plot the defendants approached him with.
At the centre of the case is a Refusal of Treatment/Transportation form, which releases the medics from liability, that the actor had signed after requesting the paramedics drive the family to the airport. The actor initially believed it would be faster to fly Jett to a hospital in Florida, but subsequently changed his mind.
McDermott described how he received a phone call from Bridgewater on 12 January (09) - 10 days after Jett died - threatening to release the document to the media if Travolta refused to meet their demands for cash.
According to McDermott, Bridgewater told him, "It’s my client’s contention that Mr. Travolta either intentionally killed his child or was negligent, and this document is firm evidence that he illegally tried to flee the jurisdiction with a dead body." She allegedly admitted Lightbourne had kept the form because it was "signed by a celebrity", before going on to propose a "substantial" amount of money to keep the form out of the public eye.
Bridgewater allegedly told the star’s attorney, "The documents can be Mr. Travolta’s or it can be the world’s." Responding to Bridgewater’s bribe, McDermott recalled, "I said, ‘You are playing a very dangerous game lady… We are going to the police. You’re going to be in big trouble.’" Lightbourne’s lawyer replied, "My client has already taken that into consideration and, frankly, he doesn’t care." The pair has pleaded not guilty. The trial continues.

SNOOP DOGG NOT BULLETPROOF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

A necklace SNOOP DOGG wore with pride was confiscated at Beirut International Airport in the Lebanon earlier this week (beg28Sep09) after customs officials discovered the pendant contained a bullet.
The rapper was returning to the U.S. after a concert at the Forum de Beyrouth when airport security staff refused to let him board his plane with his controversial jewellery item.
Ironically, the diamond studded bullet around his neck, was a peace symbol Snoop picked up from charity Bullets 4 Peace, a socially conscious jewellery line.
It’s not the first time the rapper has upset customs officials at airports - The Gin & Juice hitmaker was arrested at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California in 2006 for trying to board a plane with a collapsible baton. He pleaded no contest to felony gun and drug charges in April 2007.
Snoop was also banned from Britain in 2006 following a fight at Heathrow Airport in London.

MTV BOSS WAS WORRIED ABOUT MADONNA’S JACKSON TRIBUTE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

MTV boss VAN TOFFLER took issue with MADONNA’s planned MICHAEL JACKSON tribute at the beginning of the Video Music Awards last month (Sep09) - because he feared it would be too serious for his pop prizegiving.
The pop star spent a large segment at the front of the prizegiving speaking candidly about her relationship with the King of Pop and lambasting others for not stepping in to save him before his drug habit turned deadly.
But she had to convince Toffler to let her say what she needed to - because he thought her tribute would be too sombre for his ceremony.
Madonna reveals, "It was my tribute to Michael Jackson… I was very clear about what I had to say and I was anxious for an opportunity to say it, even though Van Toffler wasn’t keen on me doing it.
"I think he was nervous about the seriousness of my speech and whether I was gonna be able to hold people’s attention."
