LA TOYA: ‘I’M STILL NOT READY TO ACCEPT MICHAEL’S DEATH’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:57 am

LA TOYA JACKSON struggled to accept a lifetime achievement award in honour of her brother MICHAEL at a British music ceremony last month (Sep09) - because she was still struggling to come to terms with his death.
The star attended the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in Glasgow, Scotland with sibling Jermaine to accept the King Of Pop’s posthumous honour.
But La Toya found herself fighting back tears during rehearsals for the show.
She says, "It was very emotional. I couldn’t watch it during rehearsals because it was one of those situations where you really don’t want to believe it." And Jackson admits she still wakes up convinced Michael is alive: "I don’t know if I’m living in this bubble where I won’t accept it, but I just don’t want to. I’m not ready to accept it (his death) yet."

HOOK ADMITS TO AUTOGRAPH FRAUD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

Former JOY DIVISION rocker PETER HOOK has admitted conning record collectors and memorabilia sellers by faking the signature of his late bandmate IAN CURTIS.
The bassist was reminded of his scam when he recently stumbled across an autographed record in his hometown of Manchester, England.
Hook says, "I did have a reputation for doing Ian Curtis’ autograph for a long time. There’s some guy who had An Ideal For Living Up and it was signed by all four members of the band and dated. I went in and said, ‘Have you not noticed that the date is after Ian died? It was me, I did them as a joke!’ "It was up there for £200, so my name is now mud among collectors."

BEYONCE EYES FITNESS VIDEO GAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

BEYONCE wants to help her fans get into shape with a new fitness video game based on her energetic dance routines.
The singer sparked a worldwide phenomenon when she released her choreography-driven Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) video last year (08).
The promo earned Beyonce the 2009 MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year, while it was parodied by the likes of Joe Jonas and Justin Timberlake.
Now Beyonce wants to channel her love of dance into a new computerised venture by creating a fun work-out for her devotees because she’s a big fan of Nintendo’s fitness game Wii Fit.
She tells Billboard, "I’d like to get involved in videogames, since I really love Wii Fit.
"I think it would be a great idea to incorporate choreography, because, for me, my workout is way more fun when it involves dancing, as opposed to running on a boring treadmill. So I would love to do some kind of fitness game but incorporate dance and performance into it. I think a lot of women would enjoy that." Beyonce became a spokesmodel for the Nintendo DS handheld console earlier this year (09).

HETFIELD THINKS BIG FOUR CONCERT TOUR WOULD BE GREAT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

METALLICA} star JAMES HETFIELD has added weight to a proposed world tour with Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth by insisting the ‘Big Four’ show is a good idea.
Bandmates Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo have already dismissed reports the supertour of thrash metal’s godfathers is something that is being planned, with the bass player stating "a lot of egos" would get in the way of the project.
But Slayer star Kerry King has revealed negotiations have begun and Hetfield thinks the dream tour is possible, despite logistical and personality issues.
He tells ThePulseofRadio.com, "I think it was certainly spurred on by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (induction ceremony) and getting all these great, nostalgic feelings.
"(We thought) ‘Hey, you know what? We should celebrate the Bay Area (San Francisco/Oakland) thrash scene. Why don’t we make a reunion of that or something?’ And it basically morphed into, you know, the Big Four doing a gig together, and how cool that would be. (It) pretty much went as far as that.
"We kind of talked a little bit about it, went back and forth. No one really looked into it. But then the rumour got out and it’s one of those things like, ‘Well, is it true?’ It’s one of those awkward positions that you’re in - you have a good idea, and you haven’t followed through with it quite yet. But I think it would be a great celebration of the past and where we are now in our lives. I think it would be great." In a recent radio interview, drummer Ulrich insisted the Big Four idea would be "a super-fun thing to do," adding, "It’s not something that’s like hush-hush, being worked on behind the scenes or anything like that."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

TALKING HEADS rocker DAVID BYRNE and DJ NORMAN COOK are on the hunt for a talented IMELDA MARCOS lookalike to star in a stage musical about the former Filipino first lady.
The pair has collaborated on a new concept album, Here Lies Love, based on the life of the shoe-loving socialite, and now they want to take the project, which features guest performances from Martha Wainwright and Cyndi Lauper, to the stage.
Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, tells the BBC, "Each track is sung by a different singer and there’s some very interesting guests on there.
"(Byrne’s) been trying to get the stage show together, because the idea was that it would be the antithesis of Evita, but then we couldn’t find our lead, so we didn’t know who was going to sing it. I was trying to persuade David to sing it.
"It’s a storytelling thing, like Evita, but coming from a different angle in that it tells the untold story that people didn’t know about Imelda Marcos."
