THE STROKES STAR RUNNING MARATHON
THE STROKES star NIKOLAI FRAITURE is hoping to fulfil a childhood ambition after signing up to run the New York Marathon next month (Nov09).
The bassist, 30, is hitting the streets to raise money for the New York Road Runners Foundation’s Team For Kids charity, and he’s asking fans to sponsor him in the run.
In a post on his blog, he writes, "I will be helping raise the funds needed to support youth fitness, goal-setting and nutrition programs throughout America and Africa while fulfilling, as a New Yorker, a life-long dream of running the marathon." The rocker won’t be the only celebrity in the race - actors Anthony Edwards and Edward Norton will also be among the runners.
