STREISAND DOUBLES UP WITH TOP U.K. ALBUM
BARBRA STREISAND has scored a transatlantic double after storming to the top of the U.K. album chart this week (ends11Oct09).
Streisand’s Love Is The Answer, her 63rd release, entered at number one on Sunday (11Oct09), just three days after the singer thanked American fans for putting her back at the top of the U.S. countdown.
The album is Streisand’s sixth album to hit number one in the U.K.
Madonna’s greatest hits compilation followed in second, while pop-punk rockers Paramore were knocked from the top spot into third place with their album Brand New Eyes.
Meanwhile, London rapper Chipmunk’s Oopsy Daisy debuted at number one on the singles list, ahead of The Saturdays’ track Forever Is Over and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ collaboration Empire State Of Mind.
