BLUES STAR FREDDY ROBINSON DIES

Blues star ABU TALIB, who recorded under his birth name FREDDY ROBINSON, has died at the age of 70.
Talib passed away in a California hospital on Thursday (08Oct09) after losing his battle with cancer.
The musician played with Ray Charles, Howlin’ Wolf and Monk Higgins, writing and recording songs such as Black Fox and Bluesology before changing his name to Abu Talib when he converted to Islam in the 1970s.
The star had seven children with his first wife, Mary Robinson, and a daughter with his second wife, Zakiyyah Talib.
