LUCAS PULLS OUT OF PLAY AFTER EX’S SUICIDE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

Devastated LITTLE BRITAIN star MATT LUCAS has pulled out of his West End run in PRICK UP YOUR EARS following the suicide of his ex-partner.
Lucas’ former husband Kevin McGee was found hanged at his Edinburgh, Scotland apartment on Monday morning (05Oct09), when police forced their way into the property after being alerted by a pal.
McGee, 32 - who was said to have been depressed for months - left a dark message on his Facebook.com page, saying that he thought "death is much better than life", in the hours leading up to his suicide.
Lucas is said to have been "floored" by the news, and has now cancelled his forthcoming appearance until further notice. He will be replaced by his understudy, according to producers at London’s The Comedy Theatre.
And Lucas’ Little Britain partner David Walliams has now reached out to the star - urging him to "stay strong".
Taking to his Twitter.com blog, Walliams writes, "Awful news about Matt’s ex partner. Stay strong Matt, our thoughts are with you!!" Lucas and McGee married in a lavish ceremony in 2006, but divorced in 2008 on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour.
Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances in McGee’s death.
