British actor DOMINIC COOPER had a novel way of gaining access to nightclubs when he was underage - he dressed as a woman.
The Mamma Mia! star was brought up in Greenwich, south London, but his baby-faced features meant his pals often excluded him from nights out when he was a teenager.
So Cooper, who is currently dating Amanda Seyfried, hit upon the idea of donning female clothing in an attempt to gain access to clubs.
He says, "I looked so young, so I put on make-up at the bus stop, where there was usually a drug-deal going on, and I would put on a skirt. It was either that or get the bus home alone. The girls thought it was very funny."

British actress/model LILY COLE embraced her turn in school comedy ST. TRINIAN’S - because it allowed her to poke fun at herself.
The 21 year old, who is currently studying at the U.K.’s prestigious Cambridge University, played geeky Polly in the 2007 movie.
But Cole refused to take her stint in the film too seriously - admitting she used her role to mirror her own studious lifestyle.
She says, "It was fun. There wasn’t really much pressure. I didn’t really take it very seriously. I wasn’t really committed to the character. I like the idea of being a model and playing a geek. I quite liked taking the p**s out of the fact I do study a lot. It was just a bit sardonic."

MICHAEL SHEEN’s 10 year old daughter is fuming after the actor landed a role in the new TWILIGHT movie - accusing him of ruining the vampire franchise for her.
The Brit thought Lily - his fang-loving offspring with ex-girlfriend Kate Beckinsale - would be thrilled when he was cast as vampire king Aro in New Moon.
Instead, she burst into tears.
Frost/Nixon star Sheen tells the New York Post, "When I told her I was definitely playing vampire Aro in Twilight, she cried. She was so overwhelmed and annoyed that I muscled in on something that was hers. She’s already told me she’ll be my date for the premiere."

Actress MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG has put her fashion sense to good use - she’s designed a handbag for charity.
The Gossip Girl star has teamed up with luxury designer Monica Botkier to create a one-off bag, named the Michelle Satchel, with all proceeds going to Oxfam International.
But fans wanting to support the organisation, which helps the world’s poor, will have to dig deep to afford the purchase - the blue Italian lambskin purse will retail at $545 (£360) when it goes on sale in November (09).

COURTENEY COX had a hairy situation on her hands after her five-year-old daughter COCO contracted head lice - because she infected the daughter of another celebrity pal with the skin-feeding insects.
The Friends star is so embarrassed little Coco’s play date with another celebrity tot turned wrong, she refuses to name the Academy Award-winning actress whose offspring was infected.
She explains, "I look over and she (Coco) is itching her hair… I was so panicked, so I called her (the actress) up and I was like, ‘Guess what? We’re either going to be the best of friends, or you’re never going to talk to me again.’ And I said, Coco did in fact have lice.’ She said, ‘Oh, it’s just a right of passage.’ She was so sweet." But the incident turned from bad to worse when Cox realised her own head had been infested by the bugs.
She adds, "I got it and it isn’t so funny anymore - especially when the paparazzi follow you (into the hair salon)."

A confused COURTENEY COX had to console her five-year-old daughter after a surprise meeting with ZAC EFRON - because the tot was left "traumatised" by the handsome Hollywood hunk.
The former Friends star arranged for boy-crazy Coco to meet the High School Musical star after realising her little girl had developed a crush on the teen idol.
But Cox was left stunned when her daughter was crippled by shyness as she stood before her musical hero - and ran into another room to escape Efron’s beaming smile.
She explains, "Coco gets these huge crushes on people. One day we decided to surprise her and invite Zac Efron over. We didn’t tell her he was coming - she just loves him. We had a video camera up and we told her to close her eyes, (then said) ‘Open them now!’ She freaked out. She was traumatised and ran to her room… She was like, ‘Oh no! I don’t want to go out there!’ I was trying to help her and she said, ‘Well, it’s his face!’" However Cox, who is married to David Arquette, admits Coco wasn’t the only one with a crush on Efron.
She jokes, "I looked at Zac and I was like, he’s hot. I was so attracted to him, but I ran into the room (to console Coco)."

Rock stars including ROBBIE WILLIAMS, ANNIE LENNOX, and PINK FLOYD’s NICK MASON have hit back at allegations they condone the illegal downloading of music.
British singer Lily Allen sparked a furious debate in the U.K. over illicit online trading of albums when she accused the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) of failing to act to stop the practice.
The Smile hitmaker insists fans who download music for free will destroy the industry, and urged FAC members to join her crusade.
She spoke out after Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien - a member of FAC - criticised the British government’s proposal to launch a crackdown on internet service providers who refuse to ban illegal downloaders.
Now the organisation has hit back as several other stars - including Take That’s Gary Barlow, singer James Blunt, and Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp - join forces with Allen.
A statement on behalf of FAC members reads, "Statements made… by members of the Featured Artists Coalition have been taken to imply that we condone illicit file-sharing. This is not the case and never has been.
"We wish to make it clear to all parties that we believe the creative work of artists should be paid for by those who enjoy it and that whenever our music is used, royalties should be paid.
"The focus of our objection (to the government’s proposal) is the proposed treatment of ordinary music fans who download a few tracks so as to check out our material before they buy. For those of us who don’t get played on the radio or mentioned in the music media - artists established and emerging - peer-to-peer recommendation is an important form of promotion."

Rapper DEL THA FUNKEE HOMOSAPIEN was forced to pull out of a concert in Colorado on Friday night (18Sep09) after he was involved in a car crash with a drunk driver.
The California native was travelling from Colorado Springs to Denver when the car he was travelling in was hit from behind.
According to local newspaper Wordword, the star - real name Teren Delvon Jones - was sleeping when the incident occurred, but he and a pal were left suffering from whiplash.
The show at the Larimer Lounge has now been rescheduled for 6 November (09).

Rapper WYCLEF JEAN is mourning the death of his father-in-law.
Eric D. Pierre, dad to Jean’s fashion designer wife Claudinette, passed away last week (ends18Sep09) - less than a month after watching the couple renew its wedding vows to mark its 15th wedding anniversary in August (09).
The former Fugees star revealed the sad news via his Twitter.com page, although no details were given about the cause of death.
In the simple post, Jean writes, "I will be off my twitter due to the passing of my father in law. Eric D Pierre RIP. For death is not greater than eternal life."

BUSTA RHYMES has paid tribute to hip-hop pioneer DJ ROC RAIDA, following his sudden death on Saturday (19Sep09).
The star, real name Anthony Williams, was hospitalised last week (ends18Sep09) after suffering a spinal injury during mixed martial arts practise.
He underwent two successful surgeries on his back and was reported to be making steps towards recovery.
However, The X-Ecutioners spinner encountered health complications in the early hours of Saturday and was pronounced dead at the age of 37.
Busta Rhymes broke the news on his Twitter.com blog, honouring his tour DJ and vowing to keep his memory alive.
He wrote, "I am sorry 2 (sic) say that on this day at 2:05 Sept 19th we lost another incredible life…Dj Roc Raida died 2day (sic) my personal Dj is gone… I just wanna thank everyone 4 ur love and support and ur prayers (sic)…We will never let ur (sic) name die Roc…We love u and will 4ever miss u (sic)…RIP." The DJ, also known as Grandmaster Roc Raida, was one of the original members of turntable crew the X-Men, who later became known as The X-Ecutioners.
He rose to international stardom after landing the DMC World DJ Championship title in 1995 and went on to produce tracks for artists including Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah, Linkin Park and Pink.
Williams is survived by his wife, mother and three daughters.

Colombian rocker JUANES united over a million Cuban fans in the name of peace on Sunday (20Sep09) when he defied death threats to play a concert in Havana.
The singer announced plans for the Paz Sin Fronteras (Peace Without Borders) show earlier this summer (09) and was immediately criticised by some Cuban-Americans for the gig, claiming it endorsed the Communist-led government of Fidel and Raul Castro.
Juanes, who was adamant the event had nothing to do with politics, even called in the police to guard his Florida home after he was sent threats claiming he would be killed if he stepped onstage.
The star vowed to press ahead with the free International Day of Peace concert and he turned it into a day of celebrations by adding a host of Spanish pop acts to the bill, including Miguel Bose, Victor Manuel and Luis Eduardo Aute, Puerto Rican tropical star Olga Tanon and Cuban artists Amaury Perez, X Alfonso and Los Van Van.
The show went ahead without any problems as hundreds of thousands of devotees came out to show their support for Juanes, all wearing white - as requested by the star - as a symbol of peace.
And the singer was overwhelmed by the turnout.
He told the crowd, "I can’t believe what I am seeing with my own eyes.
"We came to Cuba for love. We have overcome fear to be with you and we hope that you too can overcome it. All the young people in the region, from Miami in the United States and in all the cities… should understand the importance of turning hate into love." Juanes later added, "For me, to see more than a million people experiencing happiness, love and peace is incredibly powerful, because what happens in politics is people become divided. With music we are all the same… Music is for everybody." Juanes’ visit to Cuba drew the biggest crowds by a foreigner since a tour of the country by the late Pope John Paul II in 1998.

EMILY BLUNT broke down in tears when JOHN KRASINSKI proposed to her - and so did THE OFFICE star.
Krasinski asked the British actress to marry him last month (Aug09) and was overjoyed when she accepted - but the couple’s emotions soon got the better of them.
He tells Access Hollywood, �It was very casual. I was nervous and the whole nine yards.
â��She did cry. I cried and we cried and then everyone around us was crying. Then, I think people werenâ��t really sure what was going on, but they were crying because we were crying. But it was great. At the end of the day she said yes which is great. Itâ��s a big part of this whole thing.â�� But the pair, dating since November (08), aren’t planning children any time soon.
Krasinski adds, �I think we�re going to take our time with that, hopefully.�

ANNA FRIEL stunned theatre-goers at the unveiling of a London stage version of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S - by stripping naked during the show.
The Pushing Daisies star peels off her clothes and reclines on a couch for her role as Holly Golightly in the theatre version of the classic Oscar-winning movie.
The nude scenes were kept a tightly-guarded secret during rehearsals for the show, and the audience for the preview performance at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the West End last week (begs14Sep09) was stunned at Friel’s bravery.
One onlooker tells the News of the World, "The guys in the front row couldn’t believe it, their eyes were on stalks. It looked like they were about to pass out." Earlier this year (09), Friel hinted she would push the boundaries as Golightly, a role made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 film.
She said, "Holly’s a heroine for a lot of females because she doesn’t follow the rules. My Holly will have a lot more rough edges than Audrey’s."

French actress AUDREY TAUTOU has ruled out a permanent move to Hollywood despite acknowledging it would help her career - because she fears living in Los Angeles would inflate her ego.
The star has risen to international fame with roles in award-winning film Amelie and The Da Vinci Code, opposite Tom Hanks.
However, Tautou, who still lives in Paris, prefers working close to home - because she is convinced stars who live in Hollywood are pursuing glory and fame rather than good roles.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I like to visit Hollywood, but I wouldn’t like to settle there…
"I don’t think about my work in terms of a ‘career’. I have the ambition to try to do very good movies and try to work with great directors and I try to do my best. My intention is much more for doing something worthwhile than about the glory. I feel myself as being more of an artisan than as an actress."

Film producers are planning a movie biopic of MICHAEL JACKSON - with his rumoured fourth child OMER BHATTI slated for the lead role.
The King of Pop’s rise to fame and his years in the spotlight will be the subject of the upcoming film, scheduled to start shooting next year (10).
Bhatti - said to be Jackson’s child from a brief relationship in the 1980s - is lined up for the part because of his stunning resemblance to the Thriller star.

CHARLIZE THERON went to great lengths to ensure the paparazzi didn’t crash filming for her nude scenes in upcoming movie THE BURNING PLAIN - by shooting at the crack of dawn.
The Oscar winner disrobes for her role in the upcoming drama and is seen smoking a cigarette through an open window in full view of passers-by.
But movie bosses were worried photographers would catch the star naked once they discovered the location of the shoot - so they changed the time of filming to make sure Theron’s scenes were kept secret.
Director Guillermo Arriaga tells New York Post’s gossip column PageSix, â��We had to shoot the scene at 6am before any of the photographers were up. It was done in such secrecy that it wasnâ��t even in the script. Only three people, including myself, knew it was going to happen.â��
