ROCKER BATHORY FOUND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:51 pm

Metal band FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will kick off their tour as planned on Tuesday night (22Sep09) - missing guitarist ZOLTAN BATHORY has been found.
The musician sparked a massive manhunt in Las Vegas after he disappeared following a show in Sin City on Friday night (18Sep09).
The band revealed they had reported Balthory missing to authorities and pleaded with fans and the public to help find him before their tour began in San Francisco, California.
And it seems the desperate appeal worked - Balthory has been in touch with his bandmates and intends to join them at Tuesday night’s show.
A statement from the group reads, "We just talked to him and although he sounded somewhat incoherent, he says he’ll be fine and the tour will start as planned tomorrow!! Sorry if he worried anyone!"

HALLIWELL HINTS AT SECOND SPICE GIRLS REUNION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

GERI HALLIWELL has stunned fans of the SPICE GIRLS - by letting slip they are planning a shock second reunion.
The Girl Power stars split after Halliwell quit the group in 1998 but they reunited at the end of 2007 for a spectacular world tour.
Four members of the five-piece - Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, and Melanie Brown - were pictured enjoying a night out together in London last week (16Sep09), sparking fervent rumours they will work together again.
All four were in contact with fifth member Victoria Beckham by text during their evening together - and Halliwell has now hinted they are considering a third run in the spotlight.
She tells U.K. TV show This Morning, "We are friends first and foremost. Obviously a career and music evolved through that friendship I think. Whatever happens afterwards is a bonus. We always talk about creative plans. Right - now, I’ll be honest: We are gathering information about a possibility, but I don’t like to… when you are evolving a plan, you don’t want to share it with the world."

FAMILY TO RELEASE UNHEARD HENDRIX TAPES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

JIMI HENDRIX will continue rocking from beyond the grave for another ten years - his family plans to release boxes of previously unheard recordings.
The legendary guitarist died in 1970, but his sister Janie reveals the family has enough unreleased material from the Hey Joe star to keep fans happy for another decade.
Two batches of songs, live shows, and film footage are stored in vaults at separate locations in the U.S. - and Janie plans to put the material into the public domain with a series of staggered releases.
She says, "We probably have another decade of music, including video. Every 12 to 18 months we’ll continue to have new releases and… official bootlegs.
"Jimi was a workaholic. After Electric Lady studios was built he was able to record constantly for as many hours as he wanted to. It’s almost as if he knew he had only four years to accomplish everything that he did. We have an amazing amount of original masters, including a lot of material that hasn’t been previously released.
"We keep them in a temperature-controlled vault. We have a set of everything in Los Angeles and a set in New York in the event of something catastrophic happening. We have duplicates of everything."

AEROSMITH CONFIRM HAWAII SHOWS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

Rockers AEROSMITH will play two gigs in Hawaii next month (Oct09) - to make amends for pulling out of a gig in Maui in 2007.
The Walk This Way hitmakers were hit with a lawsuit by angry residents of the Pacific islands after they axed a sold-out show to play a larger concert in Chicago, Illinois.
The natives were left doubly disappointed when the rockers scrapped their North American tour midway through in August (09) after frontman Steven Tyler fell off the stage at a show in South Dakota, putting a planned 2010 concert in the country in jeopardy.
But fans of the band can breath a sigh of relief - Aerosmith will put on two Hawaii shows, on 18 October and 20 October (09).
Tickets, priced between $75 (£50) and $195 (£130), will go on sale on Saturday (26Sep09).

GUITAR HERO BOSS: ‘COBAIN IMAGE WAS FULLY APPROVED’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

The maker of the controversial Guitar Hero video game featuring KURT COBAIN has spoken out about the scandal - insisting the star’s image use was approved by his estate.
The late frontman, who committed suicide in 1994, can be used by players to perform a number of songs, including Jon Bon Jovi’s You Give Love A Bad Name.
His widow Courtney Love announced earlier this month (Sep09) she is taking legal action against chiefs at gaming giant Activision, insisting she never would have agreed to the project if she knew Cobain would be "reincarnated" for renditions of hits other than his own.
But Guitar Hero CEO Dan Rosensweig is confident the game details were clearly set out when representatives of Cobain’s estate signed documents to allow his image to be used.
He tells NME.com, "I do know that there’s absolutely a contract and we know that the cheque has been cashed. I can only deal with the facts. It’s very clear what the terms are." Former Nirvana rockers Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl voiced their anguish at Cobain’s image being used to sing other artists’ tracks, saying they were "dismayed and very disappointed". Bon Jovi also waded into the debate, admitting that he too disapproved of the use of Cobain’s image.
Rosensweig was hit hard by the rockers’ condemnation of the game, and claims the makers’ top priority is the welfare of stars they use.
He adds, "We care about the artists more than anyone else and we would like to make artists happy in every circumstance.
"I’m disappointed in this case that there seems to be confusion between the band and the estate. It’s really not Guitar Hero’s confusion. We went and spoke directly to the estate and made it crystal clear, got the rights, paid for the rights, and really we’ve done what we’ve always done. The fact that the rest of the band and the estate did not communicate… I can’t speak for everybody being happy."

But Chris’ brother Danny also stars in the movie - and had to watch as his wife-to-be got passionate with his sibling.

It made for some interesting moments on set when Danny had to watch his brother and fiancee go at it." SHERLOCK HOLMES SEQUEL IN THE PIPELINE?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

Movie bosses are reportedly planning a second SHERLOCK HOLMES film - three months before the first instalment hits theatres.
Robert Downey Jr. stars as the legendary detective in Guy Ritchie’s new movie, which is set for release in December (09). Brit actor Jude Law is taking on the role of Dr. Watson.
The film’s epic trailer has received mixed reviews by critics - but movie chiefs are busily rounding up writers to draft a script for a follow-up to the Arthur Conan Doyle tale, according to Hollywood Reporter’s RiskyBiz blog.
Law has already expressed his desire for the film to be turned into a movie franchise, so the cast can work on more detective stories: "We would love that the audience falls in love with it (the movie) as much as we have, as then we can (make) a whole bunch more." Downey Jr. is also keen to star in a follow-up: "We definitely agreed to renegotiate for a part two. We feel really strongly about that. We might shoot the next one abroad."

STORCH FELT ‘PRESSURED’ TO WORK WITH BROOKE HOGAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

Music producer SCOTT STORCH only agreed to help HULK HOGAN’s daughter BROOKE launch a pop career because he felt "pressured" into it by the wrestling legend.
The beatmaker, known for his work with 50 Cent, Dr. Dre and Beyonce, admits he was constantly high on cocaine when he met with the Hogans in 2006 to discuss working on the blonde singer’s career.
He ended up signing Brooke Hogan as the first artist to his label Storch Music Company, but he admits his judgement was so clouded by the amount of drugs he was taking, the music was far from the quality he had become known for.
Storch, who has since beat his drug addiction, tells Details magazine, "I was doing blow (cocaine) 24/7. It was out of control.
"I love Brooke, but I did that s**t because her father was putting all sorts of pressure on me.
"Sure, it was fun. But the thing is, I didn’t make one good bit of music when I was high on coke. Not one bit." Singer Hogan parted ways with Storch 10 months after her album Undiscovered was released in October 2006.

MIKA’S TERROR OVER TV INTERVIEW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

Shy pop star MIKA was so terrified about a TV interview earlier this month (Sep09), he had to be dragged back into the studio after running out in fear.
The Grace Kelly hitmaker admits he is only confident while performing - and nearly pulled out of an appearance on U.K. talk show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross after realising he’d have to chat to the host after comedian Ricky Gervais.
He explains, "When I’m on stage I can appear strong. But in real life I’m not. The other day, when I was on Jonathan Ross, I was sitting there next to Ricky Gervais and Jamie Oliver and I was like, ‘I’m in hell - I’m in hell! What am I doing here?’ "I was around two of the most self-assured, ebullient people, who know how to swagger and talk. I actually ran off twice and they had to keep coming back to get me. I feel inept. I feel like I should be better at it and I think it’s really not a good thing. I’m not proud of it at all.
"If I go to a party and I don’t know anyone I’ll still be the one sitting in the corner, drinking too much! Then I’ll leave, being angry that no one spoke to me - but of course it’s all my fault that they didn’t."
