GERSHON AGENTS DEMAND COMMISSION IN NEW LEGAL BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

GINA GERSHON is embroiled in a bitter lawsuit with her former talent agents over allegations she failed to pay them commission for landing her a job on Broadway.
The Showgirls star is currently appearing opposite former E.R. actor John Stamos in the revival of Bye Bye Birdie, which officially opens next month (Oct09), and bosses at Fortitude talent agency claim they helped her land the stageshow.
They allege the actress has refused to pay them the 10 per cent commission they’re due.
In legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (22Sep09), and obtained by TMZ.com, the agents claim the star "chooses to forget about those people who help her in her career".
Her former representatives allege Gershon has made "several hundred thousand dollars" from the New York stage play but has yet to pay them their share of her earnings.
They are suing for compensation.
Gershon has yet to respond to the lawsuit.

CRUZ’S GYNAECOLOGIST VISIT FUELS BABY RUMOURS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 pm

PENELOPE CRUZ has further fuelled speculation she’s pregnant with boyfriend JAVIER BARDEM’s child after the Spanish stars were spotted leaving a gynaecologist’s office together last week.
The couple was snapped exiting the Ruber Clinic in Madrid on Thursday (17Sep09) - just a week after Cruz furiously denied she was expecting at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada, where she walked away from one interviewer who questioned her about the baby news.
The actress also told USA Today newspaper earlier this month (Sep09) she was not pregnant, stating, "I start getting some presents from friends saying, ‘Congratulations, you’re pregnant.’ And I say, ‘No, I’m not, so (I) return the presents. It’s amazing." But the rumours refuse to go away and new pictures of the loved-up pair leaving the Spanish medical centre arm in arm only serve to add to the baby gossip.
If Cruz is pregnant, the baby will be a first for both stars.
The couple has been dating since 2007.

ANNA NICOLE WAS OVER-PRESCRIBED PAINKILLERS WHILE PREGNANT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 pm

ANNA NICOLE SMITH’s doctor reportedly prescribed the tragic actress/model potentially fatal doses of painkillers and other medications while she was pregnant with daughter Dannielynn.
Ongoing investigations into the star’s 2007 death have put Smith’s physician Sandeep Kapoor in the spotlight, amid claims he ignored medical dangers by providing an array of powerful and addictive drugs to a woman with a history of substance abuse.
In court documents leaked to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, four doctors are under scrutiny for their dealings with Smith, but the investigation zeros in on Kapoor, and the actress/model’s former next door neighbour Khristine Eroshevich.
State prescription records, contained in the documents, show Kapoor prescribed Smith sedatives and painkillers, often in quantities far beyond medical standards.
And Medical Board of California official Jon Genens, who is leading the investigation into Smith’s death, writes Kapoor prescribed an amount of methadone that averaged more than twice the usual daily dose during a 27-day period in 2005. The documents also suggest the doctor wrote prescriptions for Xanax, Dilaudid, Lorazepam and methadone, and, in some cases increased them during Smith’s 2006 pregnancy, despite potential hazards to the foetus.
Genens’ investigations also found "a pattern of overprescribing drugs which could pose a potential danger to his (Kapoor) patients." Kapoor’s attorney, Ellyn Garofalo, insists authorities have miscalculated the amounts his client prescribed.
She tells the Times, "There’s been a misreading of the medical records. When all the facts are disclosed, they will show that Dr. Kapoor’s treatment of Anna Nicole Smith was in good faith and consistent with good medical practice." In March (09), Los Angeles prosecutors charged Kapoor, Eroshevich and Smith’s companion and lawyer, Howard K. Stern, with conspiring to provide the actress/model with controlled substances. All three have pleaded not guilty. A preliminary hearing is set for next month (Oct09).

JAY-Z ‘ENVIOUS’ OF MARTIN’S YOGA SKILLS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:39 pm

Rap superstar JAY-Z is considering taking yoga tips from his rocker pal CHRIS MARTIN - because he’s jealous of the COLDPLAY frontman’s flexibility on stage.
Martin, who practises yoga with his wife Gwyneth Paltrow, is known for his energetic performances, jumping, bending and running around the stage during Coldplay gigs.
The Run This Town hitmaker admits he would love to be as agile as the Viva La Vida singer, having witnessed Martin’s concert workouts night after night as they tour the U.K. together.
He says, "Chris hasn’t tried to get me to do yoga yet but I am close to doing it. I’m envious of what he can do on stage. Watching him is amazing, he can really move. I want to be able to move like that, get my leg behind my ear, things like that." But Jay-Z, who is married to Beyonce, confesses he’ll have to get back in shape before he will even consider attempting any body-bending exercises: "I try and work out four times a week - cardio, weights, push ups, pull ups - but I haven’t for a month because of vacation and touring."

TRAVOLTA WANTED SON TREATED IN U.S. HOSPITAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:39 pm

JOHN TRAVOLTA wanted to fly his son JETT to Florida immediately after the teenager suffered a seizure in the Bahamas, so he would receive better medical care, a court has heard.
The 16 year old died in January (09) during a family vacation on the Caribbean island.
Former Bahamian Senator Pleasant Bridgewater and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne, who attended to the boy after the incident, are currently on trial in the Bahamas on charges of extortion.
They are accused of conspiring to release a document containing information about Jett’s death in a $25 million (£17.2 million) bribery plot against Travolta and his grieving wife Kelly Preston.
Police inspector Andrew Wells was the first witness to take the stand on Tuesday (22Sep09), testifying how Lightbourne had told him the actor had signed forms releasing the paramedics from liability so he could take the teen to an airport.
Reports suggest Travolta soon changed his mind and instructed his boy be taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Hollywood star returned to the Bahamas on Monday (21Sep09), the first time since Jett’s death, as he prepared to testify in the case.
He is expected to take the stand later this week (begs21Sep09).
Bridgewater and Lightbourne have pleaded not guilty to the allegations.

"On the first night, some guy pulled a gun and tried to carjack me. I was so scared I dropped the keys. This guy’s got a gun pointed at me, counting to five. He got to four, and I’m like, ‘I can’t find them!’ Finally he just ran off." The star traded in the car and now drives a Volkswagen Beetle.

BUNDCHEN & BRADY SUED OVER WEDDING DAY SHOOTING INCIDENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Two paparazzi photographers are suing supermodel GISELE BUNDCHEN and her husband TOM BRADY over an alleged shooting incident at the couple’s Costa Rica wedding.
The two men, already identified as Yuri Cortez and Rolando Aviles, claim bodyguards shot at them, shattering the rear window of their vehicle, as they attempted to get unauthorised snaps of the ceremony this spring (09).
The photographers tell TMZ.com they got proper clearance to take photos from a nearby property - but Brady’s security team demanded they hand over cameras and equipment after spotting them taking pictures.
The snappers were attempting to make a quick escape in an SUV, when the security men opened fire and showered the vehicle with bullets.
In the suit, filed in New York on Tuesday (22Sep09), the two men claim the bullets "narrowly missed" striking them.
The photographers allege Brady and Bundchen were negligent in hiring and training the security team. They are seeking more than $1 million (£666,000) in damages.
The Boston Herald previously reported the paparazzi were from the INF photo agency, and were hiding in bushes near Bundchen’s beachfront home in Mal Pais, taking pictures of the event when they were caught by the newlyweds’ security guards.
The New York Daily News published a photo of the shot-up car in April (09).
In a missive on the Can’tStoptheBleeding.com blog shortly after the incident, Cortez wrote, "I couldn’t believe it when I realised what they had done. I could have lost my life for the sake of some pictures that Gisele didn’t want published. Are they insane?"

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

HEATHER LOCKLEAR is returning to MELROSE PLACE - the actress will reprise her role as AMANDA WOODWARD in the remake of the 1980s show.

However, she met with show bosses again last month (Aug09) and agreed to film new scenes for the programme - although it’s unknown how long Locklear’s stint will last.
Executive producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer are delighted to have Locklear on board.

"Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion." Locklear’s first episode will air in the U.S. on 17 November (09).

CHAS & DAVE SPLIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:39 pm

Veteran British singing duo CHAS & DAVE have split after 37 years.
The two-piece band, whose traditional piano-led "singalong" songs gained them a massive cult following in the U.K., have parted ways following the death of bass player Dave Peacock’s wife Sue in July (09).

He tells Britain’s the Daily Mail newspaper, "Obviously it’s sad. It’s the end of an era but the start of another one - the show goes on. I still see Dave every week and he’s coping but I don’t think he wanted to do the gigging any more.
"He has horses and he loves driving them round his grounds and painting gypsy wagons which he’s very good at so I don’t think he’ll miss the gigging.
"Chas and Dave is a legendary name but I shall be taking over the gigs. I’ll be doing the old songs as well as new ones and talking about Dave during the show." Chas & Dave formed in 1972 and had a string of quirky hits - inspired by life in their native London - including Ain’t No Pleasing You, Rabbit, Margate, and London Girls.
