Singer MUTYA BUENA has hit out at her former SUGABABES bandmate HEIDI RANGE - insisting she should have supported KEISHA BUCHANAN by leaving the girl group.
Buchanan announced her departure from the band on Monday (21Sep09), just days after reports suggested singer Amelle Berrabah had walked out on the trio.
After 11 years of performing with the Sugababes, and the only original member remaining, Buchanan revealed to fans she had no choice but to leave the band.
And fellow founder Buena, who was replaced by Berrabah when she left in 2005, has spoken out about the group’s troubles - and is adamant Range should have left the group too.
She writes on her personal Twitter.com page, "It all started so innocently… a love for music and a dream… look what it’s become.
"I will say this publicly: shame on Heidi for not following Keisha out. But (it) doesn’t surprise me a bit." Buena admits she would not rule out a reunion with Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy, who quit in 2001, to reform the original line-up.
She says, "It would be different if Keisha had stayed in it and someone else had gone - then it would be the Sugababes. But wow, I suppose now there’s no original Sugababes so we should just all reform again.
"Hooking up with the rest of the girls - I think that could be an amazing idea, definitely." Eurovision star Jade Ewen has replaced Buchanan in the lineup, and was snapped with Range and Berrabah filming a video for their new track About A Girl in Los Angeles on Tuesday (22Sep09).

LADY GAGA is at the centre of an Irish entertainment company’s $1 million (£666,670) lawsuit against a New York talent agency, amid allegations they were conned into booking concerts with a firm that doesn’t even represent the star.
Bosses at Grooveyard Ltd., a gig promotion company based in Ireland, claim they struck a deal with Manhattan’s American Talent Agency earlier this year (09) to fly the Just Dance hitmaker to Europe for shows in Dublin and Belfast in October (09).
Company executives reportedly paid $320,000 (£213,350) to secure the tour dates, but were left confused when they were slapped with a cease-and-desist order by AEG Live bosses demanding they stop promoting the concerts - because only AEG has the authority to book the star.
Grooveyard filed a lawsuit against the American Talent Agency in New York State Court this week (begs21Sep09), demanding compensation for the bogus deal, reports TMZ.com.

The soundtrack for sci-fi blockbuster STAR WARS has been voted out of this world - it has topped a new poll.
The score for the opening of the hit films, originally written for the first feature by John Williams in 1977, has been voted sci-fi fans’ favourite movie music.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan came second, while Ridley Scott’s cult film Blade Runner landed the third position - despite recently being named the best sci-fi film in history.
Queen’s memorable Flash Gordon theme, 2001: A Space Odyssey’s eerie tune, and James Horner’s Aliens soundtrack also made the top ten in the survey conducted by website Totalscifionline.com.

TYRA BANKS vowed to slim down earlier this year (09) - in a bid to beat fellow dieters on AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.
The TV talk show host has piled on the pounds in recent years, and her new figure was a far cry from her days on the catwalk.
Banks was determined to regain her enviable curves and enlisted the help of pals on the set of her beauty contest to stick to a healthier regime.
And it worked - Banks is happy with her newfound figure.
She tells Larry King, "I did this challenge with my friends. There was about eight of us from America’s Next Top Model, some past talk show people and some friends. And we were sitting around a table and kind of trash talking and decided to do this challenge because we all love food. I trash talked so much where I had to win - and I did. I always feel great when I don’t have clothes on."

Fashion mogul TAMARA MELLON’s $10 million (£6.6 million) lawsuit against her mother has been dismissed.
Mellon, president of designer shoe brand Jimmy Choo, filed papers against her mum, former Chanel model Ann Yeardye, in January 2008 for breach of contract in the sale of the company in 2004.
The 42 year old claimed that when the firm was sold, her mother, who was also a stake holder, had allegedly received stock that should have gone to Mellon.
Yeardye insisted on getting her shares in cash, but half of the stock that was supposed to go to Mellon went to her mother, according to the legal papers.
Yeardye then refused to turn the stock over to her daughter, and filed a cross complaint against Mellon in October 2008 on the grounds of breach of contract and promissory fraud, seeking $8 million (£5.3 million) in damages.
Both lawsuits have now been dismissed following a status conference in June (09), according to RadarOnline.
Papers from the hearing read, "A request for dismissal having been filed on February 20, 2009, this matter is placed off calendar. The court orders the case removed from the civil active list and all future hearing dates, if any, advanced and vacated."

BRADLEY COOPER and SETH ROGEN have joined a host of stars to front a new Alzheimer’s awareness campaign.
Frasier star David Hyde Pierce and actress Melina Kanakaredes are also taking part in the Who Wears Purple Best? competition to promote World Alzheimer’s Day, which took place on Monday (21Sep09).
Hyde Pierce is a tireless advocate for the disease and is an honorary Alzheimer Association National Board Member, after losing his father and grandfather to the ailment.
And the cause is equally as close to Kanakaredes’ heart.
She says, "While I hope to be a favourite in the World Alzheimer’s Day ‘Who Wears Purple Best?’ competition, my goal is for people to learn more about Alzheimer’s and take action.
"People do not realise that Alzheimer’s is not old age. It is a progressive and fatal disease and staggering amounts of people develop Alzheimer’s every day." Fans can cast their vote for the celeb they think has purple power until Wednesday (30Sep09) at www.alz.org.

MACKENZIE PHILLIPS’ family is split over the actress’ shocking confession she had a drug-fuelled sexual relationship with her late musician father JOHN PHILLIPS.
The former child star claims she was just 19 when The Mamas & The Papas singer raped her on the eve of her wedding to Jeff Sessler in 1979.
She writes in her new memoir High on Arrival, "On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it (the wedding). I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed.
"My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father. Had this happened before? I didn’t know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it. For a moment I was in my body, in that horrible truth, and then I slid back into a blackout." The incestuous relationship between John and Mackenzie, from his first marriage to socialite Susan Adams, later became consensual as the pair began using heroin together and touring in a band called The New Mamas and The Papas.
Wilson Phillips founder Chynna reveals she received a phone call confession in 1997 from her half sister, who revealed her affair with their father began while he was married to third wife, Genevieve Waite.
Standing by her sister, Chynna tells U.S. magazine Us Weekly, "They were both doing drugs together. After long nights of heroin use, she’s claiming that she once woke up and that my father was on top of her having sex with her. Was he actually raping her? I don’t know. Do I believe they had an incestuous relationship and that it went on for 10 years? Yes." However, Chynna’s actress mum Michelle Phillips, John’s second wife and former member of The Mamas & The Papas, has rejected Mackenzie’s claims as the musings of a desperate drug addict.
She adds, "You should take with a grain of salt anything that’s said by a person who has had a needle stuck in their arm for 35 years. The whole story is disgusting." John Phillips died of heart failure in 2001, aged 65.

TYRA BANKS refused to believe initial reports CHRIS BROWN had attacked girlfriend RIHANNA - because the KISS KISS singer had previously opened up about the trauma his mother had experienced at the hands of his abusive stepfather.
The 20 year old is currently serving six months hard labour in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia after pleading guilty to assaulting the Umbrella beauty after a pre-Grammy Awards party in February (09).
The aftermath of the vicious attack was heavily documented in the press, with differing reports hitting the headlines every day.
And Banks admits she found it hard to believe Brown beat his lover - until she saw a leaked photo of Rihanna’s injuries on a gossip website.
She tells Larry King, "It was very shocking when I first heard that it happened. There are so many rumours in the entertainment industry. And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s just a rumour.’ And then more and more, you know, police evidence and things come out and photos and things. And I just was like in shock." The model reveals she was devastated to learn the reports were true - because Brown had vowed he would never hit a woman after living with a father figure who beat his mother, Joyce Hawkins.
Banks adds, "I went back to the interview that I had with Chris Brown. He told me that he experienced this abuse of - I think it was a father figure - on his mother. And that he was so scared, you know, hearing his mother scream and in so much pain.
"He didn’t see it, but he would always hear it. And he was so terrified that he said that he would wet his bed. And he became a bed-wetter for a long time - an embarrassingly long time. And he admitted that to me.
"So when I heard (about the attack), I said, ‘Wow, the cycle is repeating.’ That’s the first thing I thought." But Banks admits she pities the disgraced singer - because he is also a victim of violence.
She says, "I feel sorry for him because we all know… that it is a cycle. When you experience something, there is a large chance that you are going to become the perpetrator.
"So that is where the sympathy goes out, because he is a victim. But at the same time, your reasoning for doing something does not excuse the fate of somebody else." As well as hard labour, Brown was also ordered to stay away from his ex-girlfriend for five years as he serves probation.

Former SPICE GIRL EMMA BUNTON has undergone hypnosis for a new U.K. TV show, according to reports.
The singer is one of several famous faces who have been lulled by a hypnotist’s spell for the upcoming programme, Celebs Behaving Strangely, where the star was made to believe "she’s not famous at all" by a magician.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun, "Everything is done for the amusement of the viewers.
"We’ve even hypnotised a group of celebs and sent them back to school."

KEANE star RICHARD HUGHES is visiting a prisoner on death row in the U.S. on Friday (25Sep09) in a bid to raise awareness of the "terrifying" realities of the sentence.
The drummer is accompanying Amnesty International to Jackson, Georgia to see Troy Davis, who was convicted in 1991 of killing a police officer two years earlier - despite the lack of a murder weapon or physical evidence linking him to the crime.
Hughes was shocked when he delved into the background of the case - and branded Davis’ plight a "terrifying illustration" of why the death penalty should be banned.
He says, "I am going to Georgia with Amnesty International to meet this remarkable man and his family; to show my support for him and to try to shine a little light on his case and the terrible effects of continuing to execute people in the name of justice.
"Troy is innocent, yet he has been on the brink of execution, only last-minute judgements keeping him alive. He continues to fight for the chance to prove his innocence." The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in August (09) that Davis should be allowed a new court hearing to establish his innocence.

EMPIRE OF THE SUN singer LUKE STEELE is preparing to kick-off the duo’s Australian tour on his own - he hasn’t seen bandmate NICK LITTLEMORE for more than five months.
The electro pair was signed to headline a string of high profile festival events in its native Australia during September and October (09).
But Steele is set to face the crowds single-handed after Littlemore "disappeared" earlier this year (09).
The singer insists his musical partner walked away from the group, and he has only heard about rumoured sightings of his pal since.
He says, "He disappeared about five months ago and I haven’t really heard from him. Last I heard he’s in Canada and then he’s in Vegas.
"I really don’t know, hey. He’s just left me with the baby. As my Dad always says, ‘You’ve got to keep the show on the road.’" Littemore will reportedly be fulfilling other commitments with another band, Pnau, at the time of the gigs.

Fans of 1960s pop icons THE MAMAS & THE PAPAS are in for a shock - founder JOHN PHILLIPS’ daughter has revealed she was 17 when her father introduced her to hard drugs.
Actress Mackenzie Phillips, who pleaded guilty to one count of felony cocaine possession last year (08), opened up about her first heroin experience during a recently taped episode of TV talk show Oprah, which will air in America on Wednesday (23Sep09).
She claims her father, California Dreamin’ hitmaker John Phillips, was the first person to drive a needle into her arm and "shoot me up".
The 49 year old says, "My father shot me up for the first time… He tied me off and he put the needle into my arm and pushed the plunger in, and he missed, he missed the vein and my whole arm went numb.
"He seemed a little nervous but at the same time it seemed very commonplace."

TWIGGY was humiliated meeting WOODY ALLEN for the first time after the filmmaker quizzed the fashion model about philosophers during an interview.
A teenage Twiggy was left red-faced after Allen found her knowledge of philosophy was lacking while they chatted during her first visit to New York.
She recalls, "There was one person who wasn’t so nice - a young comic called Woody Allen and he was to interview me for a documentary.
"His first question was. ‘Who’s your favourite philosopher?’ My heart sank. I wanted to run off and burst into tears. I didn’t know any philosophers. And he probably knew I didn’t. Moviemaker MICHAEL MOORE is aiming to screen his new documentary CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY in a bizarre place - Wall Street fraudster BERNARD MADOFF’s prison.
The controversial documentary maker is launching his latest venture - a scathing critique of the New York financial district, in which he lays bare capitalist greed amongst U.S. bankers.
And there is one particular financier Moore would love to organise a special showing for - the man who siphoned billions of dollars from his rich clients, including Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, John Malkovich and Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Moore tells the New York Daily News, "Bernie (Madoff) is representative of the scheme of capitalism itself.
"We’re just trying to see if we can set that up in the prison he’s in. If we can’t, we’ve discussed doing an outdoor screening in the field, so at least he can watch through the bars of the window." Madoff is currently serving a 150 year stretch for fraud at Butner Federal Correctional Complex, North Carolina.

Actress MEGAN MULLALLY was forced to take to the stage with a brace on her wrist on Saturday (19Sep09), after she was involved in a car crash last week (begs14Sep09).
The Will and Grace star was travelling in Los Angeles on Wednesday (16Sep09) when her car collided with another vehicle.
The 50 year old had to cancel two performances of her play The Receptionist on Thursday (17Sep09) and Friday (18Sep09) as a result of the hand injury.
But she was back on stage on Saturday - albeit with a strap to support her painful wrist.
Police have yet to determine who was at fault over the collision, according to TMZ.com.

Newly appointed AMERICAN IDOL judge ELLEN DEGENERES has taken a swipe at her critics - insisting she’ll be a "great" addition to the hit talent contest.
The chatshow host is the shock replacement for longtime judge Paula Abdul, who quit in August (09) over an alleged pay row.
Fans of the former pop star, as well as U.S. TV commentators, have hit out at producers’ decision to sign up the funnywoman - claiming she has no suitable links to the music industry to make her a viable panellist.
But DeGeneres took the chance to defend herself on her daily chatshow in America on Tuesday (23Sep09), and is convinced her own history of being judged as a gay woman puts her in good stead to dish out advice to wannabe stars.
She told viewers, "Apparently, there’s a lot of debate going on right now whether I’m qualified or not to be the new judge on American Idol. I’ll tell you right now how I know I’m going to be a great judge: because I’ve spent my whole life being judged. So I know what it’s like." DeGeneres jokingly added, "The things people are saying - I thought we’ve moved past this. We have the first African-American president. We’ve sworn in our first Hispanic Supreme Court justice. I think American Idol is ready for their first blonde judge."
