TRAVOLTA TRIED TO REVIVE AUTISTIC SON AFTER FATAL SEIZURE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:09 pm

JOHN TRAVOLTA has publicly acknowledged for the first time his late son JETT was autistic after telling a court how he desperately attempted to resuscitate the teenager when he suffered a seizure in the Bahamas.
The actor’s 16-year-old son was taken to a local hospital after the incident in January (09), which took place during a family holiday.
Former Bahamian Senator Pleasant Bridgewater and paramedic Tarino Lightbourne, who attended to the boy after the attack, are currently on trial in the Bahamas on charges of extortion.
They are accused of conspiring to release a document containing information about Jett’s death in a $25 million (£17.2 million) bribery plot against Travolta and his grieving wife Kelly Preston.
Travolta took to the stand on Wednesday (23Sep09) and described how his children’s nanny woke him up in a panic on the fateful morning to alert the star to his son’s condition.
The actor told the court how one of Jett’s caretakers tried to revive the boy with chest compressions, before Travolta stepped in to take over CPR. His efforts failed to revive his son, who was taken away in an ambulance.
During his testimony, Travolta admitted his son was autistic, revealing he suffered seizures lasting between 45 seconds to one minute every five to 10 days.
Travolta told the court, "He was autistic. He suffered from a seizure disorder." On Tuesday (22Sep09), the Bahamas court heard testimony from police inspector Andrew Wells, who claimed Lightbourne had told him the actor initially wanted to fly his son to Florida so he would receive better medical care. He allegedly changed his mind soon afterwards and instructed the paramedics to take the teen to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Bridgewater and Lightbourne have pleaded not guilty to the allegations. The trial continues.

ADELE INSPIRED BY ALCOHOL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:06 pm

British singer ADELE fell back into her old ways when she was writing her new album - she downed bottles of booze for inspiration.
The sultry star quit alcohol after her drinking led to several scrapped dates on her U.S. tour last year (08).

Journalist Dean Piper tells U.K. TV show This Morning, "I caught up with her in New York. She was talking about the new album. She was off the booze, she was making a big effort to get clean and healthy. But she has gone back on the booze so she can get a bit emotional and write some new tracks."

FORMER MOTLEY CRUE SINGER CANCELS BENEFIT PERFORMANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:06 pm

Former MOTLEY CRUE lead singer JOHN CORABI has left the organisers of a benefit concert scrambling for a last-minute replacement after cancelling his headliner appearance at an upcoming concert due to unexplained scheduling conflicts.
Corabi was set to perform at the 2 October (09) event, planned as a fundraiser for 14-year-old Iowa girl with cerebral palsy.
Organisers hoped Corabi’s performance would help raise funds for a $8,100 (£5,400) mobility system in the girl’s home to help her move around the house in her wheelchair.
But a post on his website reads: "John would like to send an apology out to fans and those organizing the benefit show in Iowa. Due to a pre-existing date conflict, he will not be able to appear at the show.
"Rescheduling inquiries have been made, and we are waiting to see what can be worked out. These events are very close to John’s heart, and he is upset that he cannot be there. Hopefully something will be worked out for a later date." Corabi replaced Motley Crue singer Vince Neil in the band from 1992 to 1997 before going solo.

FRANCIS AVOIDS PRISON TIME IN TAX EVASION CHARGES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:00 pm

Adult filmmaker JOE FRANCIS has escaped a prison sentence in his tax evasion trial after striking a plea deal with Los Angeles prosecutors.
The embattled Girls Gone Wild creator was arrested in 2007 and charged with two counts of filing fraudulent tax returns, amounting to $20 million (£14 million).

The news will come as a relief to Francis, who is also embroiled in a lawsuit against three former employees he claims tried to embezzle cash from him.

WILLIAMS WARNS FANS AGAINST TICKET SCALPERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:48 pm

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has warned fans not to buy tickets for his upcoming British homecoming gig from unofficial outlets - because they will be refused entry to the concert.
The Angels hitmaker is playing his first show in the U.K. for more than three years as part of the BBC’s annual Electric Proms event in London next month (Oct09).
The 2,000 tickets for the performance sold out in minutes when they went onsale on Wednesday morning (23Sep09), with many appearing on unofficial ticketing websites and eBay at an inflated price soon afterwards.
But Williams has advised fans not to buy tickets to the sold-out event from scalpers - because stringent security on the night will prevent them from gaining entry to the gig.
A statement on his website reads, "Tickets to Robbie’s performance at BBC’s Electric Proms sold out in a flash this morning and we are aware that many of you who did not manage to get tickets are very disappointed.
"We strongly recommend that you do not purchase tickets from unofficial sources, by this we mean anyone selling tickets second-hand. Strict security measures will be in place on the night and you risk being disappointed further if you buy these tickets at an inflated price only to be refused entry."

OSBOURNES WEEP WITH PRIDE OVER KELLY’S DEBUT DANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:45 pm

SHARON OSBOURNE broke down in tears on U.S. TV over her daughter KELLY - after she stunned judges with her fancy footwork on DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The America’s Got Talent show judge watched proudly from the audience with her rocker husband Ozzy as their reality TV star-turned-presenter daughter took to the floor in front of a packed audience.
The 24 year old performed a Viennese Waltz for her debut dance of the series, and blew her family and fans away with a step-perfect routine.
And the show’s three judges couldn’t believe the transformation in Osbourne - who recently admitted she was forced to take the part of Mama Morton in a West End production of Chicago because she couldn’t dance the lead role of Roxy.
Judge Bruno Tonioli exclaimed, "Kelly I cannot believe my eyes. The wild-child, rock-princess, transformed into a vision of grace, elegance in a world of impeccable style!" The comments caused the star’s rock matriarch mother to burst into tears, as the audience jumped to a standing ovation.
Osbourne couldn’t help blubbering herself, hugging her joyful parents, before saying, "I’m crying. That was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t believe I’m crying!"
