BRAD PITT is reportedly planning to build an airstrip close to the grounds of his and ANGELINA JOLIE’s luxury property in France - so the superstar family can avoid run-ins with paparazzi at airports.
The couple and their six children reside in the sprawling Chateau Miraval estate whenever they are in the country, but are often hounded upon their arrival and departure by eager snappers.
So Pitt and Jolie, who has a private pilot’s licence, have decided to look into buying land surrounding their property to build a secluded airstrip to jet in and out of France in privacy, according to New York Post’s gossip column PageSix.
A source tells the publication, "One thing he loves about the estate is the privacy it affords. Nobody can get near it.
"So with Angelina completing her pilot’s licence, their own airstrip would give them total freedom to come and go."

Rapper KANYE WEST has won a delay in his assault case.
The Stronger hitmaker is charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft after allegedly lashing out at photographers at LAX airport in Los Angeles last year (08).
A pre-trial hearing was set for this month (Sep09), but the star’s lawyer Blair Berk went to court on Friday (18Sep09) and successfully obtained a delay.
The next hearing is now scheduled to take place on 23 October (09).

KIRSTEN DUNST is expected to testify against a second man accused of stealing possessions from her New York hotel room in 2007.
The star was a victim of theft while staying at the SoHo Grand two years ago, when a $13,000 (£7,340) Marc Jacobs purse, $2,500 (£1,410) in cash, a cell phone, digital cameras and a Balenciaga bag were all taken by an intruder.
Jarrod Beinerman, 34, confessed to illegally entering the hotel suite and stealing the purse. He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in jail last September (09).
Now Beinerman’s alleged accomplice in the burglary, James Jimenez, is set to stand trial on Thursday (24Sep09), and the Spider-Man actress has been called to testify against him, according to the New York Daily News.
Jiminez, 35, faces 15 years behind bars if convicted of the crime.

BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-boyfriend has had his divorce finalised.
Adnan Ghalib’s wife Azylynn Berry filed for separation in January 2008, citing irreconcilable differences for the split.
At the time Spears was going through her much publicised meltdown and dating former paparazzo Ghalib, much to Berry’s fury.
After their relationship ended, the singer’s father Jamie filed for a restraining order against the snapper, which was granted for a three year period.
Now Ghalib’s marriage is over too - a judge at Los Angeles’ Superior Court granted Berry’s request for a divorce last Friday (18Sep09).

JENNIFER ANISTON has slammed reports she burst into tears on the set of her new movie because she was thinking about her ex-husband BRAD PITT.
The actress was alleged to have become weepy while filming The Bounty with co-star Gerard Butler earlier this month (Sep09) after a scene reminded her of her former partner.
A source tells New York Post’s gossip column PageSix that the actress admitted to her assistant, "I need a moment. This scene reminds me of Brad and me." The insider added, "While she enjoyed flirting with Gerard on set and put a brave face on every day, privately she is still very fragile." But a representative for Aniston has vehemently denied the allegations, branding them "ridiculous" and adding, "It never happened." The former Friends star split with Pitt in 2005. She has dated other Hollywood stars including Vince Vaughn and John Mayer, while her ex is now in a longterm relationship with Angelina Jolie.

An album of previously unreleased material recorded by actress MACKENZIE PHILLIPS and her father JOHN PHILLIPS is to be released in 2010.
The tracks were recorded more than 20 years ago when John reformed The Mamas & The Papas with Denny Doherty and his daughter - while Mackenzie was involved in an incestuous relationship with her father, according to her new memoir High On Arrival.
Attorney Jeffrey A. Greenberg, who represents John Phillips’ estate, insists the songs are "great".
And he’s convinced Mackenzie’s revelations won’t upset sales of the album: "People will make up their own minds. I was a huge fan of John’s and my object is to hopefully make people aware of John’s music and his talent."

The SPICE GIRLS are reportedly set to reform for a one-off show at the 2010 soccer World Cup in South Africa.
Geri Halliwell hinted earlier this week (begs21Sep09) that the five-piece - herself, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, and Melanie Brown - were in talks to stage a second reunion following their spectacular 2007 world tour.
She said, "Right - now, I’ll be honest: We are gathering information about a possibility, but I don’t like to… when you are evolving a plan, you don’t want to share it with the world." Now it seems there is a gig in the pipeline - Brown and her husband Stephen Belafonte have put together a deal for the band to perform at the World Cup in South Africa, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
Beckham is reportedly less keen to join the others on stage - but fiery Brown plans to perform as a four-piece if the 35 year old fails to sign up for the high-profile gig.
A source tells the publication, "Mel’s determined to get the girls back together for the World Cup and wants them to plough ahead as a foursome if Victoria doesn’t want to take part.
"She has got the others excited by the idea of a one-off appearance. They are very interested."

Pop star AUBREY O’DAY pulled out of her burlesque performance in Las Vegas on Wednesday night (23Sep09) after learning a previous show-goer had posted nude photos of her on the Internet.
The former Danity Kane singer performs in Sin City revue Peepshow, a semi-nude stage extravaganza, and made her debut performance on Tuesday (22Sep09).
She was disturbed to learn an audience member had snapped her mid-performance during her first show - and took to her website to post a video of her stripping to inform fans of her plans to axe Wednesday’s gig.
She says, "I’m making a video for you guys, because instead of being onstage at Peepshow tonight, where I usually am, I decided to call off tonight because of some nude photos that were illegally obtained last night at the show.
"Last night was my opening night, and it was such an amazing feeling, and I’ve been told by everyone that the performance that I gave was absolutely amazing, one of the best they’ve seen. But the photos made me feel like c**p. It made me feel bad. It made me feel insecure about my body, and unfortunately, this is not the first time I felt this way in this industry." But O’Day has vowed to go on with the show in a bid to hit back at all her critics.
She adds, "A lot of people may not understand what it feels like for women to be judged like that, but as you can see, I’m not performing, which is the one thing I love doing most… I’m not going to let anyone like (gossip blogger) Perez Hilton say that Aubrey looks ugly un-Photoshopped. I am going to be back onstage at ‘Peepshow’ every night following tonight’s cancellation."

Shamed Glam rocker GARY GLITTER has failed to turn around a travel ban imposed on him by U.K. authorities.
The singer was forced to sign Britain’s Sex Offenders register upon his return to his native U.K. in 2008 after serving three years in a Vietnamese prison for sexual assault on two young girls.
He applied for permission to holiday in France, but the move was opposed by London’s Metropolitan Police who believe he could disappear across the border into Spain.
Officials asked for a judge to impose a travel restriction on the disgraced rocker, insisting he would be "unable to help himself" when near children.
Judge Timothy Workman at Westminster Magistrates court in the British capital agreed on Wednesday (23Sep09), and granted an order to stop Glitter - real name Paul Gadd - from travelling abroad, stating it was a necessary precaution to ensure children were protected from "serious sexual harm".
Judge Workman said, "Whilst his desire to leave the U.K. may have reduced in the last year he has made it clear it was his intention to leave the U.K. permanently.
"If he were to do so, not having had any treatment, there would be a substantial risk that he would avoid sexual monitoring regimes and could move easily and without detection around the EU.
"Visiting France near the Spanish border, away from the monitoring regime and possibly the intrusive press interest, could prove a very powerful incentive not to return." The ban will stop Glitter from travelling within the European Union for the next six months.

Organisers of BEYONCE’s controversial gig in Malaysia have insisted the sexy star will tone down her racy stage outfits - after Muslim groups threatened to protest the show.
The Halo superstar has signed to perform a a concert in Kuala Lumpur in October (09) as part of her ongoing I Am… world tour.
The show comes two years after protest threats from Malaysia’s opposition Islamic party forced the star to scrap a planned performance.
According to the country’s strict laws, female performers must cover from their shoulders to their knees and not expose any cleavage.
And Beyonce, who performs in a host of revealing costumes on the tour, has promised to wear appropriate outfits, according to concert promoters Marctensia.
A spokesperson for the organiser states that "all parties have come to an amicable understanding" to what Beyonce will wear on stage, and that the country is privileged to have such a "role model" and "embodiment of success" choose to showcase in Malaysia.
The rep adds, "We are confident that (the concert) will once and for all silence international critics and put Malaysia back on track… in presenting A-list international pop concerts in this region." Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani and the Black Eyed Peas have all faced protest threats by Malaysia’s Islamic community.

BARBIE is heading to the big screen - Universal Pictures is set to make a live-action film based around the popular blonde doll.
Film bosses are convinced the picture will be a hit as the 50-year-old Mattel toy is so well known throughout the world, and is the top girls’ toy in the U.S.
Universal Pictures chairman Marc Shmuger says, "Barbie is the most famous doll in history, a unique cultural icon in the world of brands. So many representations of Barbie frequent pop culture.
"We’re grateful to Mattel for entrusting us with this extraordinary opportunity. Barbie may be the most popular girl in the world, and has always been a wonderfully aspirational figure, so we must do her proud."

SIR IAN MCKELLEN was handed a a lifetime achievement award for his illustrious acting career at a film festival in Spain on Wednesday evening (23Sep09).
The veteran star was guest of honour at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, picking up the Donostia Award to mark his 40 years in Hollywood.
The 71 year old told the audience he was "very gratified" to receive the prize "because it’s not just for a character but for a career".
McKellen also revealed his favourite role - his character in the The Lord of the Rings.
He added, "Gandalf is a wonderful character - I’m a big fan of Gandalf." Previous recipients of the prestigious award include Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and Richard Gere.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG has chastised SUZANNE SOMERS after she reportedly blamed PATRICK SWAYZE’s death on his chemo treatment.
Goldberg was furious after learning the Three’s Company star, a breast cancer survivor, told a Canadian reporter that Swayze could have extended his life if he had turned to alternative aids instead of chemotherapy.
Somers is said to have told columnist Shinan Govani, "They took this beautiful man and they basically put poison in him. Why couldn’t they have built him up nutritionally and gotten rid of the toxins in his body?" Swayze’s Ghost co-star took aim at Somers on her U.S. TV talk show The View on Wednesday (23Sep09), telling the actress she "should know better".
Goldberg said: "In case she doesn’t know, Patrick did everything and went everywhere to try and stay healthy as long as he could.
"That he’s been gone a week and this statement came out is bad timing and bad taste and Suzanne, you know better. And I’m not sure that’s not what you meant to do, but you should have thought about it." Somers has responded to the controversy on her official website, insisting she wasn’t aware her comments would be published.
She writes, "In a casual conversation at a private party (with someone who never identified himself as a reporter) at the Toronto Film Festival last week, I was asked about this beloved actor. It was never my intention to make an official statement about his passing.
"I was not informed or aware I was being interviewed. I would never have been so insensitive as to offer a public statement so close to his untimely passing. I sincerely apologize if my comment has caused any additional pain to his family during this difficult time. I send my deepest condolences for their loss."

Pop star CHRISTINA AGUILERA was moved to tears after meeting malnourished children during a recent visit to impoverished regions of Guatemala.
The singer jetted into the Central American country as part of her work as a spokesperson for the World Hunger Relief campaign, travelling to small villages near Lake Atitlan to greet locals in their huts.
And the Beautiful hitmaker was stunned after witnessing their plight for food firsthand - admitting she desperately wanted to hug Concepcion, a pregnant mum who struggles to feed her young daughter.
Aguilera says, "I wanted to see with my own eyes what hunger means. As a mom my heart just breaks when I see how young mothers… struggle to feed their children. I don’t think I can ever forget these images. The people of WFP (World Food Programme) do such a great job helping hungry children and mothers." And the star is hoping she can raise awareness about the cause to help the young Guatemalan children survive.
She adds, "One of the biggest lessons I’m taking away from this trip is the importance of healthy food. If a child under two doesn’t get the nutrients they need, we can never fix the damage later on."

VICTORIA BECKHAM has spoken out to silence reports she is starving herself to stay thin.
The pop-star-turned-fashion designer is known for her slight frame and has long been subjected to tabloid speculation suggesting she eats very little.
But the former Spice Girl has decided to finally respond to the rumours - insisting the claims are "irresponsible" and could have a negative effect on her young fans.
She tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "I am fine - happy and healthy. It’s irresponsible when people obsess about my shape and size. I appreciate there are young girls and women who look to me as a role model and it is simply untrue to say I do not eat and I am unhealthy.

An unheard MICHAEL JACKSON song will be released in October (09) - almost four months after the KING OF POP’s death.
Bosses at Sony Music have announced new single This Is It will feature backing vocals from the star’s brothers and will hit shelves on 12 October (09).
It will then appear on a new two-disc album of the same name, set to go on sale later that month to coincide with the global premiere of Jackson’s This Is It documentary, about his ill-fated comeback concerts.
It is believed the Thriller icon wrote the track, but it’s unclear when it was recorded.
Album co-producer John McClain says, "This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows - that Michael is one of God’s greatest gifts." Jackson died on 25 June (09). His death has since been ruled a homicide.

CHARLIZE THERON is ready to sink her claws into a forthcoming BATMAN movie - she’s desperate to take on the role of CATWOMAN.
Several actresses, including Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie and Ashley Judd, have been tipped to step into the famous PVC catsuit, although Hollywood bosses have announced there isn’t even a script in the works for the superhero sequel yet.
But Theron insists she’d love the chance to transform into the feline femme fatale, offering her name up for casting directors.
She says, "I think what has happened to that franchise is amazing. (Batman filmmaker) Chris Nolan is a genius. I would be an idiot to not consider that part." The as-yet-untitled project is expected in cinemas in 2011.
