JA RULE & DMX RECONCILE AT VH1 AWARDS SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:48 pm

Rappers JA RULE and DMX have put their bitter feud behind them - after "squashing their beef" during a meeting at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors on Wednesday night (23Sep09).
The pair have long been embroiled in a mutual disliking of each other since 2000, when DMX hit out at the Always On Time star on his track Do You, insisting Ja Rule had mimicked his style of rapping.
They went on to exchange criticisms of each other’s work, and argued through radio interviews.
But at the 6th Annual VH1 Hip Hop Honours, the rappers decided to put the past behind them - and even posed for a picture of unity alongside Ludacris and Foxy Brown.
DMX’s manager Nakia Walker put the reconciliation down to the hip-hop star’s new positive outlook on life since he was released from jail earlier this year (09).
He tells AllHipHop.com, "He has a new attitude, a new team. He looks good and (now) he is squashing beefs. (And) his performances are breathtaking." And Ludacris is similarly pleased with the ceasefire - writing on his Twitter.com blog, "Great to see DMX and Ja Rule squash their beef after all this time. Vh1 hip hop honors. A historic night indeed."

NEWLYWED JONES DISMISSES ABUSE REPORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:45 pm

MONKEES singer DAVY JONES has brushed off rumours his new young wife physically abuses him, insisting he’s never been happier.
The 63-year-old star wed Latin TV presenter/actress Jessica Pacheco, 32, at her family home in Miami, Florida in August (09).
Jones’ four grown up daughters from his previous relationships were noticeably absent from the nuptials, sparking reports they were unhappy with their father’s shock marriage.
Some claims suggested Jones’ kids dislike Pacheco because she allegedly beat the veteran entertainer on numerous occasions throughout their two-year relationship.
But the newlyweds have dismissed the accusations and claim they are enjoying life as a married couple.
Jones tells the National Enquirer, "Jessica is the love of my life. I’ve never been so happy." And Pacheco has poked fun at the rumours of abuse, adding: "After reading all the allegations, I have seriously thought about giving up acting and joining the WWF (World Wrestling Federation)!" Jones has also put to rest reports of his daughters’ unhappiness at his new love, claiming they were unable to make his big day because they had prior commitments.
He says, "(Daughter Talia said), ‘Dad, you have to follow your heart - if you’re happy, we’re happy.’"

SHOPLIFTER FOX WON’T RETURN TO WAL-MART

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:45 pm

Actress MEGAN FOX refuses to step into U.S. supermarket Wal-Mart after she was caught shoplifting as a teenager.
The sexy Transformers star, 23, admits she was once busted for stealing make-up from the Olsen twins’ cosmetics line and was subsequently banned from the chain store.
Fox, who escaped with a light punishment, has no idea if she is still unwelcome in Wal-Mart, but she has never been back since.
She says, "I don’t know if the ban was for life, but when I was 14 or 15 I did get caught and convicted of stealing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen cosmetics from a Wal-Mart.
"They actually took me into the court and I had two choices and I took the second choice, which was wrapping (gifts) for Christmas, which was awesome, it wasn’t really a punishment. The other one was they were gonna make me wear a sign that said I stole from Wal-Mart and stand outside Wal-Mart for three days."

CIBRIAN’S MUM CAN’T ACCEPT RIMES ROMANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

Singer/actress LEANN RIMES’ new romance with EDDIE CIBRIAN has hit a stumbling block - she’s failed to win the approval of the married actor’s mother.
The pair, who played lovers on TV movie Northern Lights, went public with their relationship last month (Aug09) after ending their respective marriages to be together.
But Cibrian’s mother Hortensia is reportedly trying to convince her son to go back to estranged wife Brandi Glanville, with whom he has two sons.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "LeAnn is completely stressed. She was hoping her new life with Eddie would have a happily-ever-after ending. But that’s not happening because Eddie’s mum is horrified that he ran off with her and ditched his wife Brandi. She sees LeAnn as a home wrecker. Hortensia is hoping it blows over soon and he goes back to Brandi." And it’s not only Cibrian’s mother who has struggled to accept the new woman in the actor’s life.
The source adds, "When they hang out, it’s usually just the two of them. Eddie’s friends and family still haven’t adjusted to the idea of LeAnn on his arm." Cibrian was married to Glanville for eight years. Rimes’ own union to dancer Dean Sheremet is heading for divorce after seven years of marriage.

CHENOWETH STILL WAITING FOR JOB OFFERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

Actress KRISTIN CHENOWETH’s appeal for work at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards has backfired - she’s failed to receive any job offers since namedropping her favourite shows at the ceremony.
The star landed the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her role in Pushing Daisies last weekend (20Sep09), but her win was bittersweet - the programme was cancelled earlier this year (09).
So a teary-eyed Chenoweth used her acceptance speech to beg for work, telling the Hollywood audience, "I’m unemployed now, so I’d like to be on Mad Men. I also like The Office, 24 - Hello (30 Rock star) Alec (Baldwin)… Thank you so much to the Academy for recognising a show that’s no longer on the air." But almost a week after her public appeal, Chenoweth is still waiting for TV producers to call.
She says, "Our show was cancelled so I thought, well, better take this time and say what shows you want to be on! But no, no (I haven’t heard from anyone)."

GIBSON BATTLED CANCER IN SECRET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

Late comedian HENRY GIBSON kept his cancer battle a secret from his friends and co-stars on ROWAN & MARTIN’S LAUGH-IN - failing to mention his illness even when they planned a reunion of the 1960s comedy sketch show.
The beloved actor passed away at his home in Malibu, California on 14 September (09).
The tragic news came as a surprise to his pals on the TV show because he never complained about his disease to any of them - and even planned to take part in a screen reunion scheduled for later this year (09).
Gary Owens, who hosted the comedy programme, tells the National Enquirer, "He didn’t complain or tell any of us.
"He was a dear friend, a great and wonderful man. I knew him even before Laugh-In. He was busy and active to the end. He’d been doing Boston Legal and was still making commercials." Owens last saw his friend in July (09) when they discussed a Laugh-In get together: "He looked fine. He never complained. He was joking all the time. We were all looking forward to the reunion show. And he and I were laughing about some of the jokes and skits we planned to do.
"He was so excited about being back together with the old gang. He kept his illness a secret from all of us. But that was Henry - a trouper to the end."

RABBI: ‘JACKSON GAVE UP ON LIFE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s former friend and spiritual advisor RABBI SHMULEY BOTEACH fears the King of Pop lost the will to live after realising he couldn’t help the world’s children.
The celebrated life coach was Jackson’s companion for years until they fell out in 2002, and now he’s speaking out about his feelings for the pop superstar in his first TV interview since his former pal died in June (09).
Boteach, who called Jackson’s death "an American tragedy" in a statement released just after the star passed, insists his friend had "a death wish".
In a Dateline TV special, which will air in America on Friday (25Sep09), the Rabbi airs taped conversations between him and Jackson for the first time and speaks candidly about his dead friend.
He says, "I think he was just going through the motions of life towards the end, and medicating away almost any kind of human response."

JACKSON: ‘HITLER WAS A SHOWMAN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON is alleged to have praised Nazi tyrant ADOLF HITLER in a shocking interview - branding the evil dictator a "genius" and a "showman".
The explosive taped interviews have been revealed by the late pop star’s good pal Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who recorded a string of candid chats with the singer during their friendship.
In an exclusive interview with America’s Dateline TV, the celebrated life coach aired the chats, which expose the tragic Thriller star’s strange respect for the man who kickstarted World War II.
In the tapes, Jackson can be heard saying, "Hitler was a genius orator. To make that many people turn and change and hate, he had to be a showman and he was." The Rabbi is then heard asking Jackson, "You believe that if you had an hour with Hitler you could somehow touch something inside of him?" The superstar replies, "Absolutely. I know I could. You have to help them, give them therapy, teach them that somewhere, something in their life went wrong." In another bizarre taped conversation, the star explains he had argued with ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley after admitting he wanted to visit the notorious British child killers of Liverpudlian toddler James Bulger.
Jackson recalls, "She had a fight with me one time when two little boys in London (sic) killed this other kid and I was going to visit them ’cause the Queen gave them adult sentencing of life.
"These were like eleven and ten year old boys and I was going to go to the prison and visit them. She said, ‘You idiot - you’re just rewarding them for what they did.’ I said, ‘How dare you say that. I bet if you trace their life you can find they didn’t have parents around, they didn’t have any love, nobody there to hold them, look in their eyes and say I love you. I just want to say I love you and hold them.’"

SPEARS’ SHARED CUSTODY DEAL EXTENDED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS will share equal custody of her sons with KEVIN FEDERLINE until 2010, after a judge extended an agreement allowing her to see the kids during her Circus world tour.
The superstar singer negotiated a deal with ex-husband Federline earlier this year (09), which allowed her to take her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, around the world while she undertakes her latest global trek.
Federline - who has primary custody of the children - travelled with Spears’ entourage, and the deal worked out so well for all parties that Spears was granted extra time with her kids, splitting custody equally with her ex.
The deal was initially agreed until the end of August (09), but lawyers for both parents have agreed to extend the order until the end of 2009.
The Toxic hitmaker will still be allowed 50/50 custody, and even more at certain times, according to TMZ.com.

ALLEN CHEERED AS ARTISTS GATHER TO FIGHT ILLEGAL DOWNLOADING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

LILY ALLEN was applauded by fellow musicians at a debate over illegal downloads on Thursday (24Sep09), after she vowed not to attend the meeting due to abuse from angry fans.
The pop star has spearheaded a campaign to stop illicit file-sharing in the U.K., calling on the government to help beat illegal downloaders who she fears will destroy the music industry.
She received a raft of support from fellow songwriters and performers, including Sir Elton John and Annie Lennox, but closed her discussion blog and decided not to attend a planned meeting after a backlash from downloaders.
But with more 100 artists gathered in north London, Allen arrived to a warm reception as the debate on how to tackle the problem ensued.
A statement was signed after three hours by stars including Allen, Lennox, George Michael and Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien, urging officials to give illegal downloaders two warnings before their broadband accounts are restricted by authorities.
And O’Brien has hailed the Smile singer for her bravery, insisting she has kickstarted a unified front from performers.
He says, "She’s taken a lot of flak for what she’s said. What she’s done has been brilliant because she started the process where artists have stood up and said, you know what, there is a consequence to illegal file-sharing.
"In the meeting, we didn’t always agree but we came to an agreement that we thought was good for everyone.
"We’re going to have further meetings like this, we’re going to get together - we’ve realised the importance of doing this together."

PITT HONOURED FOR NEW ORLEANS EFFORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

BRAD PITT has been honoured for his humanitarian work for helping to rebuild New Orleans, Louisiana following the devastating 2005 Hurricane Katrina which ravaged the area.
The Fight Club star set up his Make It Right foundation in 2007, which created 13 homes in the 9th Ward, which was devastated by the hurricane four years ago, killing 1,500 people and causing more than $80 billion worth of damage.
Each property has been made with eco-friendly features such as green roofs to dramatically cut heating and cooling costs.
Pitt was handed a plaque from the U.S. Green Building Council on Thursday (24Sep09) at former U.S President Bill Clinton’s eco-awareness summit, the Clinton Global Initiative.
The council said the actor’s foundation had created the "largest and greenest single-family community in the world".
Speaking at the event, Pitt said, "Make It Right has exceeded my expectations. Our criteria from the beginning were at odds, to say the least. We demanded that these homes be sustainable, that they have aesthetic qualities … that they be storm resilient and take safety in mind of the families who live there and that they would be affordable.
"If we had not been so blissfully naive to the potential, we would not be experiencing what we are seeing today and that is the unquantifiable joy of families returning home to the 9th Ward and returning home to something that was better than before. What the team has done here is not so exceptional. All we did was put the right people together and answer the problems as they came along and that is why we’re here today." Pitt is aiming to have 150 green properties developed in New Orleans by 2010.

SUGABABE BERRABAH: ‘BUCHANAN HAD TO GO’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

SUGABABES star AMELLE BERRABAH has pulled out of an awards ceremony in the U.K. next week (30Sep09) - to avoid a confrontation with axed bandmate KEISHA BUCHANAN.
The band was thrown into turmoil when founding member Buchanan announced her departure on Monday (21Sep09) following a growing rift with Berrabah.
She has since been replaced by Eurovision star Jade Ewen - and Berrabah has now broken her silence, insisting Buchanan was forced to quit for the sake of the band.
Berrabah also confirms she deliberately vanished for three days earlier this month (Sep09) after tensions within the group became too much.
She tells the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, "Keisha didn’t leave off her own back (sic) - me and Heidi couldn’t carry on. I was depressed. You shouldn’t have to go to work treading on eggshells. Before going to L.A. I disappeared for three days and I got to the point where I just couldn’t take any more. I suppose I was a bit depressed.
"I needed to be on my own. Even my own family couldn’t get hold of me. I hit that wall. Heidi completely supported me and knew what was going on within the band. But we all couldn’t work together any more. We weren’t happy, me and Heidi, and it was a struggle to come into work. We didn’t enjoy it." The publication also reports both Berrabah and Buchanan have axed planned appearances at the Music Of Black Origin Awards in Scotland on Wednesday (30Sep09) to avoid any awkward confrontation.

FAMILY GUY BANNED IN VENEZUELA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

Venezuelan officials are threatening TV networks with fines if they do not axe U.S. animated series FAMILY GUY from their schedule.
The country’s Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami ordered the controversial comedy, devised by Seth MacFarlane, should be removed from the country’s airtime, insisting it promotes the use of marijuana.
The government was outraged after an episode in which the show’s characters seemingly advocate legalising weed was broadcast to audiences.
And authorities stepped up their campaign on Thursday (24Sep09) by warning any network bosses who ignore the imposed ban will be hit with a fine.
American censors have also struggled with certain topics the show confronts - networks refused to air an abortion-themed episode last month (Aug09) after deciding it went too far.

STEWART SORRY FOR SIMPSON’S DOG LOSS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

American lifestyle queen MARTHA STEWART has publicly apologised for making light of JESSICA SIMPSON’s dog-napping nightmare.
The pop star’s Maltipoo, Daisy, was snatched and carried off by a coyote outside her California home earlier this month (Sep09), leaving the singer devastated and desperate for help.
But fellow dog-lover Stewart showed little sympathy when she told Us Weekly magazine that Simpson should have been "more careful" and then urged the singer to "get another dog".
Stewart addressed her comments on her daytime show on Thursday (24Sep09), stating, "I said that she should have been watching her dog more closely, but I feel very, very sorry for anybody that loses a pet. Jessica, I hope you find your pet, but if you don’t, I’m really sorry that you lost one."
