FURTADO MOURNED OASIS SPLIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:48 pm

NELLY FURTADO was devastated when NOEL GALLAGHER quit OASIS - because she idolised the band when she was growing up.
The Maneater hitmaker looked to the British band for inspiration when she was starting out in the music business, and even dreamed of dating frontman Liam Gallagher.
Furtado was distraught to learn guitarist Noel walked away from the group after a fight with his brother before a show in Paris last month (Aug09).
She says, "I was inconsolable when Oasis split up. That band meant the world to me.
"As a 16-year-old I would write letters to Liam with my photo attached and pray that he would ask me out on a date, but he never did. At college I learned to play guitar to Wonderwall.
"Oasis were everything I loved about pop music. They could express emotions with the most simple song structures. They had the kind of brash attitude I could completely relate to." The Champagne Supernova hitmakers are yet to confirm plans for the future, but reports suggest Liam is auditioning for a replacement for his brother and intends to continue with the band.

STOLEN VAN HALEN GUITAR RECOVERED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:48 pm

Three men have been arrested for allegedly stealing a rare EDDIE VAN HALEN guitar.
Jeronimo Frutero, a shipping supervisor at the American Musical Supply store in New York, and his friend Richard Rodriguez worked together to orchestrate the scheme, which saw them steal more than $50,000 (£35,000) worth of musical instruments, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.
He claims Rodriguez, posing as a customer, purchased several inexpensive items online from the store, which Frutero then replaced with more expensive items.
Frutero is then alleged to have switched the shipping labels and had delivery workers package and send the high-end music equipment.
A third man, Michael Nuzzo, also allegedly ordered cheaper items online and actually received more expensive ones, says Molinelli.
Police allegedly discovered $55,000 (£36,666) worth of stolen items, including the limited-edition Van Halen replica guitar, worth $25,000 (£16,666), in Rodriguez’s New Jersey home.
All three men are due to appear in court on Tuesday (29Sep09).

TYLER CONFIRMS FRIENDS: THE MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

The cast of FRIENDS is reuniting to bring the hit TV show to the big screen, according to actor JAMES MICHAEL TYLER.
The series came to an end in 2004 after 10 seasons, but the cast has been dogged by rumours of a possible big screen adaptation ever since.
David Schwimmer denied reports last year (08) that the six core cast members - himself, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry - were planning on starring in a movie.
He said, "There’s never been any talk of a Friends film, at least as far as I know." But Tyler - who played coffee shop worker Gunther in the show - has confirmed the actors are in negotiations to star in a film adaption, set to hit theatres in summer 2011.
He tells Britain’s News of the World newspaper, "Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film.
"I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film." The show’s original creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, have reportedly been drafted in to write and produce the movie.
A source tells the publication, "Everyone knew the story had to be right and well written. Getting the creators on board was a massive step forward for the project. The show did lose a lot of its shine in the last few seasons, but with the actors all in the forties it would be a real interest to see how their characters have developed."

EVERHART DENIES BRITISH ROYAL FATHERED BABY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

Actress ANGIE EVERHART has denied reports British Royal PRINCE ANDREW is the father of her son.
The 40-year-old beauty gave birth to Kayden Bobby Everhart in July (09) via Caesarean section and has refused to name the tot’s father.
But she has moved swiftly to slam reports her former flame Prince Andrew fathered the two month old - and also reveals Kayden’s dad lives in America and has an active role in his upbringing.
She tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday, "Andrew was one of the first people I called when I discovered I was pregnant. He has been nothing but totally supportive to me. Just because I’ve been linked romantically with him in the past it doesn’t mean I am still going to bed with him. Whether I am or not is nobody’s business but ours.
"Kayden’s daddy is someone who is not in the public eye. I have not named him because he asked me not to. He doesn’t want to have to deal with the publicity, but he’s someone who is very closely involved in the upbringing of the baby, he sees him all the time and he lives in Manhattan Beach, not in a palace in London. He has an 18-year-old son and wants to stay anonymous." But Prince Andrew is keen to play a part in Kayden’s life - he has showered the baby with gifts since his birth.
Everhart adds, "Andrew sent me this (babygro) together with a baby blanket and a little sleeping bag, all of which have tiny little crowns on."

Harrison, who passed away in 2001, had surrounded his home with the wire fencing as a precaution after an intruder broke into the property and stabbed him in 1999.
Despite the opposition, Olivia has now been granted permission to re-build the eight foot fence to keep up security at the estate.

INCEST SURVIVORS THANK PHILLIPS FOR HER STORY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:57 pm

Actress MACKENZIE PHILLIPS has been inundated with messages of thanks from fellow incest survivors after revealing all about a sick 10-year sexual affair she had with her father, MAMAS & THE PAPAS founder JOHN PHILLIPS.
The star has shocked fans of her dad by detailing her strange romance with the California Dreamin’ hitmaker in a new memoir, High on Arrival - and she hit headlines on Wednesday (23Sep09) when she sat down with Oprah Winfrey to talk about the scandal on U.S. TV.
Phillips told Winfrey she hoped that her revelations would make incest a talking point in America - and it appears she got her wish.
Re-appearing on Oprah on Friday (25Sep09), she said, "I expected there to be controversy, but I certainly never expected it to be like this… I had no idea there were so many incest survivors on (social networking website) Facebook.
"I mean, I’ve gotten at least 150 letters from women saying, ‘I lived through this,’ and people saying, ‘You go Mac, own your truth…’ It’s been very heartening (and) heartbreaking at the same time.
"Nobody’s talking about this… so if I started a national dialogue that’s gonna help people face these issues then I am forever grateful that I’ve had this opportunity." Earlier in the week, Phillips told Winfrey, "I know that I can’t be the only one this has happened to… Someone needs to put a face on not only non-consensual incest but consensual incest because I know it exists. I know it’s happening in families and I can’t be the only person to have lived through this."

Officials later lifted the ban, allowing anyone over 18 years old to attend, but didn’t give an explanation for the U-turn.
And Fergie, who usually struts around in revealing, sexy outfits onstage, showed her appreciation for the ban reversal by sticking to the strict dress code, covering up her body in jeans and a t-shirt.
The crowed of 5,000 went wild to hits including Where is the Love and I Gotta Feeling.
The Black Eyed Peas are one of a number of international acts who have been forced to change their stage antics in Malaysia - Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne have all faced protests over their sexy routines and costumes.
