Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

MICKEY ROURKE is racing against time to shoot and release his new mafia movie THE ICE MAN - because the author of the book it’s been adapted from is dying.
Rourke plays real life assassin Richard Kuklinski in the film, based on Philip Carlo’s 2006 book.
Carlo, who shares a producer credit with Rourke, suffers from Lou Gehrig’s disease, which is slowly destroying his nervous system.
And Rourke is desperate to finish filming before the writer succumbs to the disease.
He tells the New York Post, "(The biggest challenge is) getting it released in time. He doesn’t have much time." The Ice Man is scheduled to be shot in New York, New Jersey and Florida next Spring (10).

JACKSON HATED THRILLER ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 am

MICHAEL JACKSON considered quitting work on his iconic 1982 album THRILLER - because he thought it "sucked".
In newly released tapes, obtained by Britain’s News of the World newspaper, the King Of Pop revealed he broke down in tears because he thought the record’s sound was "c**p".
Jackson was unhappy with the Quincy Jones-produced album - and even told pals he didn’t want to release it.
In the recordings, Jackson is heard saying, "Thriller sounded so c**p. The mixes sucked. When we listened to the whole album, there were tears… I just cried like a baby. I stormed out of the room and said, ‘We’re not releasing this’." But a visit to a local school playground convinced Jackson to change his mind.
He added, "One of the maintenance crew in the studio had a bicycle and so I took it and rode up to the schoolyard. I just watched the children play. When I came back I was ready to rule the world. I went into the studio and I turned them songs out." The album has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.

RUTHERFORD TURNS TO AGUILERA IN DIVORCE BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 am

GOSSIP GIRL star KELLY RUTHERFORD is gaining strength in her battle with her estranged husband - by listening to CHRISTINA AGUILERA’s song STRONGER.
The actress obtained a temporary restraining order against Daniel Giersch earlier this week (begs21Sep09) after accusing him of following and threatening her.
The couple is in the middle of a messy divorce and custody battle over their son Hermes, two, and three-month-old daughter Helena.
But Rutherford is refusing to let their troubles get her down - and is hoping her public fight with Giersch will inspire women in similar situations.
She tells People.com, "I have it very lucky even though in my personal life right now I’m going through a very challenging time. I do know that there are women that I can help somehow because they’re going through a much tougher time.
"My mom’s been through it too. I mean, not in the way that I’m going through it, but she understands. She is hysterical. She sent me that Christina Aguilera song Stronger and that’s when I’m laughing and crying at the same time, like, ‘Mom, I love you!’"

MCCARTNEY SCHOOLBOY ESSAY FOUND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:18 am

An essay SIR PAUL McCARTNEY wrote as a schoolboy, praising British Royal QUEEN ELIZABETH II, has been uncovered in his hometown of Liverpool, England.
The former Beatles star was just 10 years old when he paid tribute to "our lovely young Queen" in honour of her coronation in 1953.
In the 300-word paper, McCartney writes, "After all this bother, many people will agree with me that it was well worth it." McCartney was awarded a book token from his local library for his effort and was presented with his prize by the Lord Mayor in May, 1953.
Ken Roach, who found the essay in library archives, says, "It’s unique in its own right. It shows his handwriting at that age and shows how Paul was thinking at the time. His handwriting is well advanced - you would say it was written by someone who was older than 10 years old, more like 14 or 15."

SPELLING SHOW PRODUCERS WANTED LOVE CONTROVERSY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:15 am

TORI SPELLING’s former love rival MARY JO EUSTACE declined an invitation to appear on the actress’ reality show after TV bosses invited the Canadian to stir up controversy on the small screen.
The former 90210 star met her now-husband Dean McDermott in 2005, when he was married to TV chef Eustace and she was wed to actor Charlie Shanian.
Spelling and McDermott fell in love and ended their marriages before tying the knot themselves in 2006.
The couple documented their romance in two TV shows, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, and their current series, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
But Eustace claims show producers wanted to rock their love boat and introduce her to TV audiences in the couple’s programme.
In her memoir, Divorce Sucks, Eustace admits she considered the opportunity to "casually" confront Spelling, but decided to stay away from the cameras, reports the New York Daily News.
However, relations with the TV producers soured when she spotted her son Jack, now 10, feature on the show with his dad McDermott.
She writes, "I said, ‘If I ever again see my son with a black X across his face on the show without my permission, we’ll be having a whole different type of conversation.
"I have managed to keep my son off the reality show and cast him in his very own and wonderfully private life."

The 41-year-old pop singer has been dating the Spanish model, who is ten years her junior, since October (08) and has even reportedly bought a house in his native country.
But Segura has shot down rumours they are preparing to walk down the aisle to mark their 12 months together, revealing they will spend their anniversary in America.
He says, "Love is the most important thing in my life. I’m very good with Kylie, I’m happy, but I’m not planning a wedding for the moment. We don’t have any special celebration planned. The only certainty is we will be together in the U.S., probably in New York."

KINGDOM HUNTS NEW BASSIST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:15 am

Punk band KINGDOM is searching for a new bass player after PIERCE ROBERTS left the line-up.
The group, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has made an online appeal for a new member and insists Roberts’ departure was amicable.
In a post on their MySpace page, the band writes, "We’re still all great friends. Message boards will be sorry to hear that there was no epic battle or dramatic reason for him to leave, just the usual: needing money, wanting time with his family, etc.
"Pierce has been with KINGDOM in one way or another since our very first show in 2006… he joined the band in 2008, we wrote and recorded a record together, and travelled around the world. He’s one of my best friends, my little big brother, a multi-talented dude.
"KINGDOM will still go on without him, even though he’s going to be awfully hard to replace. Ben (our original drummer) has still not been replaced (we’ve been touring with fill-ins since he left), so we’re still looking for a drummer, and now we’re also looking for a bassist.
"If you’re interested, vegan, straight edge, and able to get to Philly for practice, and able to tour a lot starting next year - get in touch!"

FURTADO: ‘SALES DROP WAS THE BEST THING’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:12 am

NELLY FURTADO is pleased her second album underperformed compared to her first - because it allowed her to re-evaluate her life.
The Maneater star’s debut release Whoa, Nelly! in 2000 sold more than five million copies worldwide, but its 2003 follow-up Folklore only shifted two million.
But Furtado was philosophical about the decrease in sales.
She says, "It’s important to fail in order to evolve. I wouldn’t say my second album was a failure but, commercially, it wasn’t as good as my first.
"That was the best thing that could have happened to me. It meant that everything slowed down and I was finally able to take stock of my life."

PHILLIPS FIRES BACK AT STEPMUM OVER ‘UNKIND’ COMMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:12 am

MACKENZIE PHILLIPS has accused her stepmother of "protecting the abuser" after taking aim at the actress over her shocking revelation she had a decade-long sexual relationship with her father JOHN.
Michelle Phillips spoke out about her stepdaughter’s claims hours after Mackenzie appeared on U.S. talk show Oprah on Wednesday (23Sep09) to promote her new memoir, which details the sick romance.
The former Mamas & The Papas singer told The Hollywood Reporter’s Roger Friedman, "John was a bad parent, and a drug addict… (but) if she thinks it’s true, why isn’t she with a good psychiatrist on a couch…? I have every reason to believe it’s untrue… Mackenzie has a lot of mental illness. She’s had a needle stuck up her arm for 35 years." Re-appearing on Oprah on Friday (25Sep09), Mackenzie said, "When Michelle found out I was writing this book, she vowed to do everything she could to discredit me… Either she’s protecting the Mamas & The Papas brand for her own reasons or she’s having a textbook reaction, she’s embarrassed, sweep it under the carpet, protect the abuser, deny the person who’s still living… I don’t have a history of mental illness, I have a history of addiction. That is not mental illness.
"I feel bad that Michelle would do this… It seems so unkind and ungenerous (sic) to lash out in this way." Mackenzie’s stepsister Bijou has also criticised the actress for going public with rape and incest claims against their father, who formed the Mamas & The Papas, and Phillips reveals she spent a month before the big reveal on Oprah trying to prepare her family for the shocker.
She adds, "I’ve been trying… to try and bring this family together so we could deal with this… as a group that faces this together."

FOX READS SCRIPTS ON A KINDLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:09 am

Actress MEGAN FOX has invested in an electronic reading device to scan through movie scripts because she can’t bear to touch dry paper.
The Transformers star admits she suffers from serious neuroses and hates the feel of paper against her skin.
She says, "I just can’t stand to touch dry paper, like scripts or newspaper or anything that’s not laminated.
"I can’t touch it with my hands, I have to constantly lick my fingers before I turn the page. On really crazy days, like if I’m sitting down reading a script, I’ll have a little cup of water and dip my finger into it before I turn every page. I’m really neurotic." So Fox has purchased a Kindle wireless reading machine to allow her to review potential film roles without making her skin crawl.
She adds, "Now I have those Kindles, where you can download scripts or upload them."

DIAMOND HINTS GOSSELAAR TOOK STEROIDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:09 am

Actor DUSTIN DIAMOND has hinted his former SAVED BY THE BELL co-star MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR used steroids to beef up his physique during his years on the hit 1990s show.
In his tell-all memoir, Behind The Bell, Diamond spills details about off-screen sexual encounters between the high school actors, their hard partying ways and alleged drug use.
He recalls one episode of the programme, in which the gang filmed an anti-drug public service announcement.
Diamond writes, "I just can’t help but think of all the off-camera drinking and recreational drugs being indulged by cast members during that time… I could smell a certain ’smoke’ wafting from the crack (underneath castmates’ dressing room doors)." He singles out Gosselaar in another section of the book, suggesting he took steroids to make his muscles look more ripped and toned for 1994’s spin-off Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
Diamond adds, "He suddenly exploded with manliness, loading 25 pounds of muscle on his once-scrawny frame in, oh, about a month."

"If he is the father he will meet his obligations to the child. He’s hoping for an early chance to establish that he is genuinely her dad."

JACKSON HONOURED BY HINDUS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:51 pm

Hindu fans have given MICHAEL JACKSON a belated, sacred send-off in India.
Fans dedicated a pind-daan ritual to the King of Pop at the holy city of Bodh Gaya as part of last week’s (ends25Sep09) pitrapaksh festivities.
The peace ceremony was conducted at the 220 year old Vishnupad Temple on the banks of the Falgu River in Bihar, and led by a priest, who is a devotee of the King of Pop.
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed tells WENN, "Several celebrities have offered prayers here in the past for the salvation of their ancestors, including the Bollywood superstar Shatrughan Sinha.
"Hindus believe that pind-daan, performed during the fortnight long pitrapaksh period, brings relief to departed souls. Around one million people from all over the world congregate in Bodh Gaya for pind-daan annually. After taking bath in a nearby kund (reservoir), the pilgrims perform pind-daan, involving religious rites for the peace of souls of one’s parents and ancestors.
"Michael Jackson’s personal life might had been controversial, but he did provide joy to a large populace of the world through his music.
"Furthermore, he had a special bond with India and Hinduism. According to reports, he was reading India’s first Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s poems during the last days of his life and he collaborated with Oscar winner A. R. Rahman. He reportedly learned how to meditate and was vegetarian."
