SWAYZE’S WIFE WALKED OUT WHEN BOOZING BECAME TOO MUCH
PATRICK SWAYZE’s wife of 34 years walked out on the late actor in 2001 because she couldn’t stand the DIRTY DANCING star’s boozy ways.
The star and Lisa Niemi split for almost a year as Swayze attempted to control his heavy drinking.
The actor has revealed the low point of his long romance with Niemi in his new memoir The Time of My Life, which hit stores on Tuesday (29Sep09).
He says, "I started drinking again… (and) I found levels of bottom that I didn’t even know existed, but, for Lisa, this was too much. She packed up a couple of suitcases and took off one morning before I woke up."
