JOEL STEPS OUT WITH NEW GIRLFRIEND
Singer BILLY JOEL proved he’s put his marriage heartbreak behind him after stepping out with a new girlfriend in New York on Monday (21Sep09).
The Piano Man split from spouse Katie Lee in June (09) - and he’s so smitten with new love interest Deborah Dampiere, he’s not worried about the upcoming divorce proceedings.
The new couple posed for photographs at the opening night of Tosca at the Metropolitan Opera and Joel even brushed off his publicist’s attempts to quieten a reporter who asked about the divorce, telling his aide, "It’s a free country, she can ask whatever she wants." The star added, "How are the divorce proceedings going? I don’t know. Ask my lawyer. For now, I’m enjoying dating this lovely lady!" The singer was also linked to ex-soap star Alex Donnelley just one month after he announced his separation from Lee - his third wife.
