HOLLYWOOD ART COLLECTION GOES UP IN SMOKE
A priceless collection of treasures, featuring art commissioned by NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, a Faberge egg and a Stradivarius violin, has been destroyed in a Hollywood Hills blaze.
Fire ripped through the home, owned by lawyer and collector Brian Witzer, on Wednesday morning (16Sep09).
Firefighters struggled to get to the blaze, reportedly sparked by an electrical fault, because the property is tucked away behind Sunset Plaza Drive, up winding roads.
Witzer estimates the damage of the blaze at $14 million (£9.3 million).
