Lost BEATLES conversations are to feature in a new BBC documentary all about the band’s love affair with Abbey Road studios in London.
Filmmaker Bob Smeaton, who worked on The Beatles Anthology series, has pieced together the movie, which will be called The Beatles on Record.
The film will also feature rare footage and photographs from the group’s archives.
It will air as part of a Beatles tribute week on British TV in September (09).

Folk icon JOAN BAEZ has put her activism on hold so she can spend more quality time with her family.
The singer, who was among the highlights of the Woodstock festival 40 years ago this past weekend (15-16Aug09), has dedicated much of her life to charities and causes, but now she feels it’s time to devote herself to her loved ones.
She tells WENN, "I didn’t do much of that in the 70s and 80s. My mother is 96 years old and I want to learn from her how to age. I want to learn from her, hopefully, something about dying.
"I want to be with my son and my daughter-in-law, my grandchild, so that means I need a little bit of self-restraint into jumping in and out of causes." But she’s not scaling back on productivity and has recently recorded one of her most famous tracks, We Shall Overcome, in Farsi.
She explains, "I’m drawn to the things I’ve always been drawn to. I decided to sing We Shall Overcome in Farsi and get it into Iran. That took me 48 hours to decide on and do."

PLACEBO have cancelled their entire North American tour after frontman BRIAN MOLKO fell ill with a virus he contracted in Asia.
The singer sparked fears for his health when he collapsed on stage at a concert in Tokyo, Japan earlier this month (Aug09).
The British band was due to start the U.S. leg of their tour on 12 September (09) in Portland, Oregon but they have now had to postpone the scheduled concerts to allow him to recover from a virus.
A statement from the band’s management says, "This is pretty devastating for everyone - we’ve only ever cancelled three shows in Placebo’s 14-year history, however Brian’s health is paramount.
"Our sincere apologies go out to Placebo’s loyal American fans who have waited a long time to see the band. We will try and do everything to re-arrange the dates as soon as possible." Fans who have tickets to the U.S. shows can get a full refund from the point of purchase.

Rapper BEANIE SIGEL has been arrested and charged with drug possession after police found marijuana in the car he was travelling in.
The star, real name Dwight Grant, was travelling through Wrightstown, New Jersey, on the way to perform at a private event at the area’s Kelly’s Bar when police officers pulled over his vehicle.
According to the local Burlington County Times newspaper, Sigel and two other men riding with him in the car were charged with marijuana possession and have since been released.
He was forced to cancel the scheduled gig.

More than 100 country music fans were arrested at a KENNY CHESNEY concert in Massachusetts on Saturday (15Aug09).
The fun went too far for many of the star’s devotees, who poured into Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
The majority of the arrests were for alcohol-related crimes.
Police chose to monitor the concert after two women who failed to gain access to a Chesney show there in 2008 were killed in an automobile accident after spending the day boozing with concert-going fans.

The daughter of late movie legend GARY COOPER is writing a new novel about her piano prodigy husband BYRON JANIS.
Maria Cooper Janis will tell the story of how her spouse became a child star, despite losing feeling in a finger after a car crash when he was 11.
The book will also document Janis’ battle with arthritis and experiences with the paranormal, according to the New York Post.
The as-yet-unnamed book will be released alongside a U.S. TV documentary about Janis’ life.
Cooper Janis is Gary Cooper’s only child from his marriage to actress Veronica Balfe.

Bronzed screen icon GEORGE HAMILTON is so dedicated to maintaining his legendary tan, he has forced employers to pay for him to take sun-kissed vacations.
The movie veteran is equally famous for his dark complexion as his acting accolades, and has maintained a deep tan throughout his acting career.
Hamilton reveals he was so scared of going pale during his prime, he had sunshine breaks written into movie, TV and theatre contracts.
The 70 year old tells the New York Post, "I used to have it written into my contract that I’d go somewhere sunny for the weekend. So if I was doing a play in Chicago, they’d have to fly me down to Puerto Rico for the weekend."

Style icon GLORIA VANDERBILT’s second cousin has been chosen to spin the stories and plotlines for SPIDER-MAN 5 and SPIDER-MAN 6, even though franchise director SAM RAIMI insisted his script for the upcoming fourth film was rewritten.
Sony Pictures Entertainment bosses booked James Vanderbilt to pen the screenplay for the fourth Spider-Man movie but Raimi brought in playwright David Lindsay-Abaire to rewrite his effort. Gary Ross is now rewriting that script.
But, although the director didn’t embrace Vanderbilt’s work, studio bosses did - and they’ve called him back.
Vanderbilt won acclaim for his work on David Fincher’s Zodiac in 2007.

GIRLS GONE WILD creator JOE FRANCIS has been ordered to pay off a $2 million (£1.2 million) gambling debt.
Bosses at casino resort Wynn Las Vegas, who took the porn mogul to court over the outstanding money, argued that he had refused to cooperate at a court deposition in February (09).
He was accused of disrespecting the legal proceedings by passing gas while testifying and refusing to admit whether he had a cell phone - despite answering a call on his phone.
And when Francis was asked if he could understand English during the proceedings, he read aloud the Fifth Amendment from the Bill of Rights, which allows him to refuse to testify, from a card handed to him by a lawyer.
He also pleaded the Fifth when asked about his earlier allegations that Wynn bosses had provided him with prostitutes to increase his gambling debts in February 2007, declining to answer whether they were male or female or if he’d had sex with them.
But attorneys for the gambling firm argued the adult filmmaker had improperly used the Fifth Amendment and, as a result, District Judge Michelle Leavitt ruled in favour of the casino and ordered Francis to pay the $2 million (£1.2 million) debt, which, with interest and legal fees, could total as much as $3 million (£1.8 million).
The deposition had to be carried out in the kitchen of a California community centre because he’s not allowed to travel outside the state, where he is also facing an ongoing tax evasion case.
He is expected to appeal the ruling.

MONTY PYTHON star JOHN CLEESE is furious after a court ruled he must hand his third wife a multi-million dollar payout as part of their divorce settlement.
The actor has been ordered to give Alyce Faye Eichelberger $12 million (£8 million) in cash and assets - including a New York apartment, a London property, and a share in a beach house in California - on top of another $918,000 (£612,000) annually for the next seven years.
As a result, the 69-year-old star’s overall wealth will total at around $15 million (£10 million).
Cleese is angry with the settlement - because it will make his former wife of 16 years, who he has no children with, wealthier than he is.
He says, "What I find so unfair is that if we both died today, her children would get much more than mine." He was also able to poke fun at the ruling, adding, "At least I will know in future if I go out with a lady they will not be after me for my money." Cleese’s former wife had originally asked for even more cash, alleging her ex was a "world-renowned celebrity" who had allowed her to become accustomed to "being entertained by royalty and dignitairies in castles".
She demanded half his earnings since their 1992 wedding, half his properties and another $900,000 (£600,000) to live on every year.
But in March (09) a judge branded her demands "excessive", granting Cleese a discount by cutting his monthly payments from $153,000 (£102,000) to $82,000 (£55,000).
Legal forms to finalise the settlement were filed in a California court last week (begs 10Aug09).

COLIN FARRELL’s Polish girlfriend has prompted rumours she’s pregnant with the actor’s second child - after she was snapped sporting a suspicious bump.
The Irish actor has been dating actress/singer Alicja Bachleda-CuruÅ› since splitting from writer Emma Forrest in February (09).
The couple has kept a low profile since then, but have been photographed arriving at Los Angeles LAX airport together, with Bachleda-CuruÅ›, 26, clutching what appears to be a baby-bump.
If the pregnancy rumours are true, the baby will be Farrell’s second - he has a five-year-old son James with model Kim Bordenave.
A representative for Farrell could not be reached to confirm the pregnancy rumours, as WENN goes to press.

Country queen SHANIA TWAIN has joined the growing cast of celebrity guest judges on AMERICAN IDOL following PAULA ABDUL’s departure from the show.
The reclusive star will join the judging panel when the show hits Chicago, Illinois at the end of August (09).
She follows Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry and Mary J. Blige, who have already signed up to offer up their opinions to wannabe stars.

Singer ROBBIE WILLIAMS has become the latest British celebrity to be caught up in a swine flu scare.
The Angels hitmaker worried fans by posting a blog on his website telling them he may have contracted the potentially deadly virus and was seeking medical advice.
He wrote, "Off to the doctors to confirm if I have pig (flu) or not." The message caused a flurry of supporters to wish him well, but although the star has not yet confirmed he’s been given the all clear, his spokesman insists he just has a cold.
The representative says, "He was just being ultra careful by going to the doctor. He was shooting his video for the new single Bodies last week and picked up a cold on the set." The Streets were forced to pull out of concerts at the weekend (15-16Aug09) when bassist Wayne Vibes was diagnosed with swine flu, just days after bandmate Mike Skinner was given the all clear.
Two members of pop group the Sugababes were hit by the disease and organisers of the Glastonbury festival in June (09) were put on high alert when three revellers were diagnosed with swine flu.

LISA KUDROW is campaigning for a role in new comedy series COUGAR TOWN, so she can reunite with her former FRIENDS co-star COURTENEY COX.
Cox plays an older women chasing younger lovers in the ABC show which debuts in the U.S. next month (Sep09).
Kudrow has managed to secure a sneak preview of her pal in action, and she’s desperate for a cameo appearance.
The actress tells OK! magazine, "I am in. I saw the pilot and Courteney is fantastic."

BRAD PITT won’t be playing SHERLOCK HOLMES’ arch-enemy Dr. Moriarty anytime soon, despite reports the movie star has been asked to save pal GUY RITCHIE’s film.
British tabloid reports suggested film stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law had been called back to the London set for reshoots with Pitt, but movie bosses have denied the reports.
Calling the story "completely inaccurate," a rep for the movie says, "Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we’re extremely pleased with the production of the film. As planned, it will be released on Christmas Day, 2009.
"In order to complete the movie, we’ve scheduled a few days on set to shoot a couple of additional scenes and perfect some of the visual effects elements."

KELLY OSBOURNE is "terrified" about her upcoming stint on hit U.S. talent show DANCING WITH THE STARS - because she can’t dance.
The singer has signed up for the new season of the hit TV show, which begins in the U.S. on 21 September (09) - and she accepts she won’t be among the pre-season favourites.
She says, "Dancing to me is like something that I’ve always really wanted to be able to do but I’ve never had the confidence… the technique… and I’m not very graceful.
"I wanted to do something different; I wanted to do something that scared me and I don’t think that anything could scare me more." And she admits that her new dancing partner, who will be revealed on Friday (21Aug09), will have his work cut out - if they’re going to be a winning couple.
She explains, "A couple of years ago, I was in Chicago in the West End. I was originally meant to be Roxie (Hart) but when it came down to doing the dancing, I couldn’t learn the dancing in time because I can’t dance, so I went and did (jail matron) Mama Morton instead." Osbourne will battle for dancing glory against the likes of Mya, Macy Gray, Melissa Joan Hart and Donny Osmond.
In a post on her Twitter.com blog, Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter admits she hasn’t got a hope of winning, unless fans vote in their droves.
She writes, "Don’t forget to vote for me when the time comes. I will need all the help I can get! I can’t dance to save my life."

ROBERT DOWNEY JR is in talks to replace TOM CRUISE as bloodsucker LESTAT in a prequel to 1994 movie INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE.
Studio bosses want to capitalise on the popularity of vampire-themed Twilight and TV hit True Blood and reincarnate author Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
According to celebrity blogger PerezHilton, Downey Jr. is in talks to take on the Lestat role, in a movie that would focus heavily on the character and how he came to be a vampire.
Neil Jordan’s Interview with the Vampire boasted a star-studded cast including Cruise, Brad Pitt, Christian Slater and Kirsten Dunst - and earned two Oscar nominations.

BOW WOW has given up rap retirement to return to the scene as a member of LIL WAYNE’s Cash Money Records stable of artists.
The Like You hitmaker, real name Shad Moss, announced his plans to concentrate on an acting career as he wrestled to free himself from a nine-year-old Columbia Records contract earlier this year (09).
He insisted executives at the record label, under which he released seven albums, had no idea how to market hip-hop stars.
Now, free of Columbia, Bow Wow is planning a major comeback as a member of Cash Money.
In a post on micro-blogging site Twitter.com on Monday (17Aug09), the young rap star wrote, "It’s official, I’m a Cash Money Millionaire."
