ALTERNATIVE 24 ENDINGS PLOTTED IN CASE OF AXE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

Producers of KIEFER SUTHERLAND’s TV hit 24 are taking every precaution in case the show is axed - they’re writing a number of alternative endings for the next series.
Sutherland was the top earner on TV Guide magazine’s drama list earlier this year (09), netting $550,000 (£366,600) for every outing as action man Jack Bauer in the programme.
But executive producer Evan Katz admits he’s still unsure whether the cult series will be scrapped by bosses at U.S. TV nework Fox at the end of the upcoming eighth season.
So 24 scriptwriters have dreamed up a few endings to ensure fans will be satisfied if the show must come to an early end.
Katz says, "We’re flexible. We have a scenario that would work well if the show ends. But we also have scenarios where it could go on." The eighth series is currently being filmed and is due to premiere in the U.S. in January (10).

Morris and other members of his crew had reportedly been chasing Price’s Firetown gang, but headed to the eatery after failing to track him down.

Morris was taken to hospital by a friend but he died from his injuries shortly afterwards.
Price, who was arrested in October (08), denies murder.

LIL WAYNE cancelled his scheduled concert in Vancouver, Canada on Monday (17Aug09) after falling ill.
Fans of the star were left stunned when they turned up to the Young Money Presents: America’s Most Wanted Music Festival tour to watch him play alongside Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy - only to be told it had been axed.

Lil Wayne and his tourmates also pulled out of a second show the following day in Edmonton, Canada.
But now bosses at the firm have confirmed that medics ordered Lil Wayne to stay off the stage because he was feeling unwell.
A new statement reads: "Lil Wayne, due to illness, was advised by his doctors to cancel the Young Money Presents America’s Most Wanted Festival tour stops in Western Canada. CYRUS’ ALLEGED STALKER APPEARS IN COURT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

A judge has postponed a court hearing for MILEY CYRUS’ alleged stalker to give investigators more time to conclude their search of his home.
Mark McLeod, 53, appeared in court on Tybee Island, Georgia on Tuesday (18Aug09) after he was arrested twice for hounding the Disney star.
But Judge Steven Scheer pushed back the preliminary hearing until 25 August (09) because the results from a raid of McLeod’s Georgia home weren’t prepared. The lead investigator was also unavailable for Tuesday’s court appearance.
A lawyer for McLeod told reporters outside the courthouse his client is "a human being" who had recently lost his job and is still grieving following the death of his mother and brother in the last 18 months.
Attorney James Byrne said, "People need to understand that, really, he’s a human being. If there’s something wrong, we need to address it. He’s one of our fellow citizens who might need some help." McLeod was taken into custody earlier this month (Aug09) after Georgia police spotted him loitering around the set of the actress’ upcoming movie The Last Song.
That arrest came just weeks after he was cautioned by cops in June (09) for making "inappropriate comments" to young Cyrus fans.
On that occasion, McLeod was set free because authorities claimed there was no room for him in jail and they didn’t consider him a threat to himself or others.
The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star was granted a temporary restraining order against McLeod earlier this month (Aug09).

BALDWIN URGES FOOTBALL FANS TO FORGIVE VICK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:06 am

ALEC BALDWIN is urging American football fans to forgive shamed quarterback MICHAEL VICK, insisting it’s time to let the star make up for his crimes against animals.
Vick was handed a 23-month sentence last November (08) after pleading guilty to charges of dog fighting and execution.
He served the last months of his sentence on home arrest and was freed last month (Jul09).
Vick was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles last week (ends14Aug09), after National Football League (NFL) commissioner Roger Goodell cleared him to resume his sports career - a move that has angered and sickened many fans, who feel the quarterback should never be allowed to return to the professional field.
But he’s found an unlikely supporter in movie star Baldwin, who insists Vick’s return to the spotlight can be used to help animal rights movements.
In an article for the Huffington Post website, the actor writes, "Vick did horrific things and he deserved to be punished. He served his time and now I wonder what good does it do to exile him in shame and not let him show his example of how one can be rehabilitated after that kind of behaviour. If Vick returns to his true form as an NFL pro, that platform can mean real progress for the animal rights movement.
"Vick is easy to target as a villain. But the man who should have been setting an example for his young fans about how to comport oneself off the field can still do so. Donating a healthy figure from his enormous salary to any mixture of animal rights groups seems like a good start to me. I have a list for Vick when he is ready." And Baldwin insists those keen to ban Vick from football are making a big mistake.
He adds, "To cast him aside and simply hate him, knowing that someone in his position stands potentially ready (and I do stress potentially) to effectively serve the interests of the very groups and individuals that he most offended, would be a mistake. Especially when there are enterprises operating in this country who will torture and kill more animals than a thousand Michael Vicks ever could, but you cannot buy a ticket to watch them perform their job on a Sunday afternoon.
"Vick deserves another chance. One chance."

COWELL CALLS POLICE OVER LEAKED LEWIS SINGLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 am

SIMON COWELL has called in the police after LEONA LEWIS’s new collaboration with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was leaked on the internet.
The music mogul was left fuming when he discovered his record company’s computers had been targetted by hackers who stole Lewis’s track Don’t Let Me Down.
Cowell was considering releasing the song as the Brit’s first track from her second album, but the completed recording has made its way online.
A statement from music executives at Sony BMG spin-off Syco reads, "Syco are working alongside the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, the British Phonographic Industry, the police and investigators in this and they are making fast progress.
"We will certainly look to bring charges against those who are responsible. We cannot give any more details at this stage for operational reasons." It’s not the first time Cowell’s artists have become prey to music pirates - last month (Jul09) unfinished recordings by Britain’s X Factor talent show winner Alexandra Burke, were leaked on the web.

HILTON WINS FIRST ROUND OF PLEDGE THIS BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 am

The producers of PARIS HILTON’s 2006 film flop PLEDGE THIS have been given until 26 August (09) to prove the socialite owes them cash.
The bosses of Worldwide Entertainment Group sued Hilton and her company, Paris Hilton Entertainment, for breach of contract, claiming she failed to properly promote the film.
And they wanted Hilton to pay back the $1 million (£666,600) she was paid.
During a two-day trial in Miami, Florida, Hilton testified she did her best to promote the movie, and U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno agreed, stating the movie was "hardly destined for critical acclaim".
He added, "Any causal connection between Ms. Hilton’s alleged breaches and the financial ruin of the film are wholly speculative." A receiver representing the producers have been given until 26 August (09) to submit arguments that Hilton should pay back parts of her $1 million fee.

GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL GOERS SPOTTED U.F.O?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 am

Britain’s Glastonbury festival has found its way into a new Ministry of Defence report about unidentified flying objects.
Two festival-goers reported spotting a U.F.O at the 1994 event.
The files, released on Monday (17Aug09), suggest the couple spotted an object flying over the Somerset festival’s Jazz Tent.
They thought the UFO was trying to send them a message.
The unnamed woman insists she and her partner were sober when they saw the U.F.O., which "was a twirling set of moving lights attached to what must have been a circular object." She added, "It was unlike anything we knew… It was silent and the way it glided was the smoothest and most effortless motion I had seen in the sky.
"It swirled around and glided down straight towards us. We really became quite frightened but awestruck. Hair stood on the end of my arms and my heart was pounding."

CRADLE OF FILTH ATTACK CANDY THROWER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

CRADLE OF FILTH have taken aim at the "selfish and stupid" fan who prompted them to cut short their set at Saturday’s (15Aug09) Bloodstock Open Air festival in England.
The band left the stage after guitarist Paul Allender was hit by an object thrown from the crowd. The group has now revealed the object was a hard candy and Allender was hospitalised as a result.
The group has released a statement apologising to fans for walking off - attacking the festival goer who threw the candy.
The missive reads, "This person threw what were being sold at the site as ‘gobstoppers,’ but which were actually heavy, solid, pieces of candy, approximately the size of a cricket ball and weighing close to a pound, at the band.
"Approximately six of these were thrown, one narrowly missed hitting (keyboard player) Ashley (Ellyllon) in the face and also a terminally ill young fan in a wheelchair sitting side of the stage, a couple just missed (singer) Dani (Filth) and then one hit Paul in the spine, causing him to collapse.
"The paramedics called an ambulance and Paul was taken to hospital with suspected spinal damage. He was subjected to numerous tests before the doctors said they didn’t think Paul had sustained any lasting damage.
"This act of stupidity caused the show to finish prior to the encore, caused Paul serious pain and everyone else a lot of anxiety. This person is lucky that no one was seriously injured or worse, which could easily have been the case and a serious police matter.
"Why does someone buy a ticket for a festival, where everyone should be enjoying the weekend and having a good time, and then have to ruin it for other people? A very selfish, sad person, one can only imagine."

TANNED HAMILTON REFUSES TO HEED SKIN CANCER WARNINGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

Tanned Hollywood icon GEORGE HAMILTON is urging fans to hit the beach - because the sun isn’t as bad for you as skin doctors would have you believe.
The actor, who has always maintained a bronzed look, insists cancer has more to do with "pollution and ill health" than sun damage - and he refuses to play it safe in the shade.
Defiant Hamilton, the star of Zorro, The Gay Blade, says, "I think the sun can contribute to keratosis and basal cell carcinoma - things like that which come from sun damage - but it doesn’t mean you have sun cancer.
"I love it when doctors tell you, ‘You may have a pre-cancerous lesion,’ and I say, ‘Pre-cancerous, you mean like pre-dead? You’re either dead or you’re not dead.’ I say, ‘Is it melanoma? Now we’re talking.’ Melanoma you find in countries where people have never been in the sun, where the sun doesn’t shine.
"We have a lot of people who believe that everything is wrong. Now we’re starting to find out that people are suffering from lack of vitamin D which can be gotten from the sun. My brother said some day they’ll find out that a cheeseburger is the best thing for you!"
