BLACK LIPS IN LEEDS STAGE INVASION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

Georgia rockers the BLACK LIPS sparked major security fears at Britain’s Leeds music festival on Sunday (30Aug09) after they incited a mass stage invasion.
The group was playing a set at the Festival Republic tent and encouraged fans to leap the barrier and join them on stage during their rendition of hit track Juvenile.
But the prank soon spun out of control as hundreds of audience members jumped over the security fences and piled on to the packed stage to dance with the band.
Festival security teams were called to the scene and bodyguards jumped in to help the rockers, shoving fans back into the photographers’ area in front of the stage.
The group, who continued playing throughout the stage invasion, were able to finish the rest of their set without incident.

PEAS PAY TRIBUTE TO DJ AM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

The BLACK EYED PEAS have been left "devastated" by the death of ADAM ‘DJ AM’ GOLDSTEIN - because they teamed up with him in Las Vegas just a week before his sudden passing.
The beatmaker was found dead on Friday (28Aug09) in his New York City apartment after a suspected drug overdose.
And Black Eyed Peas star Apl.De.Ap admits he was shocked to hear the news - as the band had collaborated with Goldstein in Sin City just seven days previously.
He tells MTV.com, "We couldn’t believe it. We were just with him (last) Friday in Las Vegas. We DJed with him and we took a couple (of) pictures, and to hear it is devastating." While singer Fergie recalls her most cherished memories of the star, she adds, "I remember going to this club called Firehouse back in the day. It was, like, the summer of ‘98 and he used to spin there. It’s a big dance club and this one night I remember there was basically 10 people in the club, but I really wanted to dance that night. They kept the club open and he kept spinning really good music. He was so cool like that. There wasn’t a mean bone in that guy’s body." Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has also spoken out about her grief following Goldstein’s passing, insisting she will look back on her time with him fondly.
She tells U.S. news show Extra, "It’s a really sore subject. He is a really amazing guy and I know it’s hard for a lot of people but he was an amazing teacher and he’s overcome a lot of battles and he will remain in all our hearts. God bless."

OASIS BUST-UP BLAMED ON BOOZE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

The vicious fight between OASIS brothers NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER that ripped the band apart on Friday (28Aug09) was sparked by an argument over the frontman’s drinking, according to U.K. reports.
Guitarist Noel sensationally quit the band after a ferocious bust-up with singer Liam just minutes before they were due onstage at a music festival in France.
The star subsequently came out and blamed his brother for his decision to leave, insisting life in the band had become "intolerable." Noel also mentioned the band’s axed headline slot at the V Festival in Chelmsford, England last Sunday (23Aug09), hinting the cancellation was not down to Liam’s throat virus, as had been previously claimed.
He wrote, "I can only apologise - although I don’t know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren’t up to it." Now new reports claim Liam’s boozing became an issue between brothers throughout their U.S. tour this year (09) and sparked the final fight in France after the frontman allegedly turned up to the gig drunk.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Liam has been drinking heavily for the duration of the tour and regularly got very abusive and personal. He has taunted Noel’s girlfriend Sara, other band members, and the crew. People have been frightened to go near him. He is one very angry man who needs to sort his issues out."
