Burlesque beauty DITA VON TEESE is mourning the death of her beloved pet dog GRETA.
The 16-year-old Dachshund died over the weekend (begs22Aug09) after a short battle with illness.
Von Teese revealed the sad news on her Twitter.com page, writing, "Thank you for all the concerns about my dog Greta. She passed away peacefully at home in my arms yesterday. I miss her more than I can say."

A scene has been scrapped from the remake of Broadway musical BYE BYE BIRDIE over producers’ fears it was "gang rape-y".
Gina Gershon, who stars as Rose in the upcoming revival, reveals her bosses at the Roundabout Theater Company have axed a dance sequence that has featured in the show since its debut in 1960.
The original scene shows Gershon’s character, made famous on the stage by Chita Rivera and in film by Janet Leigh, crashing a Shriners’ banquet and flirting underneath a table with a group of men wearing Fez hats.
She tells the New York Daily News, "It seemed a little too gang rape-y." Gershon is set to take the stage opposite E.R. star John Stamos when the show debuts in New York next month (Sep09).

BRITNEY SPEARS has asked fans to search for her in New York - so she can personally hand them free front row tickets to her concert.
The Toxic hitmaker is due to perform at the city’s Madison Square Garden on Monday (24Aug09) for three nights as part of her Circus world tour.
She is offering a pair of ringside seats to any fan clever enough to decipher a string of clues she is posting on her Twitter.com blog.
Spears will be hiding somewhere in New York on Monday (24Aug09) prior to the show - and has invited followers to track her down.
In a series of postings on the micro-blogging site, she writes: "If you can find me in NYC on Monday I’ll give you 2 front row seats to my show. Follow my twitter for clues… Can you guess where it is?… I’m going to be hiding somewhere in Manhattan."

TV talk show queen OPRAH WINFREY is planning to shut down parts of a New York City highway next year (10) for a mammoth block party to celebrate the tenth anniversary of her magazine.
The media mogul launched O, The Oprah Magazine nine years ago - and is planning a major party for next May (10) to celebrate the longrunning title.
According to E! Online, Winfrey is looking to shut down portions of the city’s West Side Highway for a blow-out block party for all her fans - in addition to a star-studded musical revue scheduled at Radio City Music Hall.
A City Hall official has confirmed Winfrey has made permit enquiries for the event; however, the star has so far refused to confirm any details.
Her spokesperson says, "While it is too soon to discuss specifics, we are looking forward to celebrating in a big way."

MICHAEL JACKSON’s grieving mother KATHERINE has praised her son JERMAINE for organising the King of Pop’s upcoming tribute concert in Vienna, Austria - calling the event "a wonderful idea".
The 26 September (09) show is being put together by Jackson’s elder brother, who has reportedly asked stars including Whitney Houston, John Mayer and Lionel Richie to join him for the show.
Just last week (begs17Aug09) over one million fans logged online to request tickets to the concert.
Austrian event promoters, World Awards Media GmbH have released a hand-signed letter from Katherine Jackson dated on Thursday (20Aug09), addressing the public support since her son’s tragic death in June (09).
She writes, "An event of this dimension not only keeps Michael’s spirit alive, more than that: It gives millions of fans the opportunity to experience his music and celebrate the life of my son. I am sure Michael would love it. I fully support Jermaine’s endeavours to spread Michael’s important message of making a better world for us all… (I am) overwhelmed by the worldwide love and support that my beloved son Michael has received over the past month." Jermaine is expected to name the performers later this month (Aug09).

Hip-hop pioneer DR. ROXANNE SHANTE has hit out at her former music bosses - insisting they tried to backtrack on an agreement to finance her college education.
The female MC quit rap shortly after the success of her 1984 smash single Roxanne’s Revenge.
She left Warner Music aged 19 with a clause in her contract in which the company agreed to fund her education for life - an agreement she is convinced bosses doubted she would follow through on.
The former rapper now boasts an undergraduate degree from Marymount Manhattan College and a PhD in psychology she earned in 2001 from New York’s prestigious Cornell University, which cost the label $217,000 (£144,670).
But she has now hit back at her former bosses, insisting she was forced to conspire with school officials to finally get music executives to sign off on the bill.
Shante tells the New York Daily News, "This is a story that needs to be told. I’m an example that you can be a teenage mom, come from the projects, and be raised by a single parent, and you can still come out of it a doctor. Everybody was cheating with the contracts, stealing and telling lies. And to find out that I was just a commodity was heartbreaking. They kept stumbling over their words, and they didn’t have an exact reason why they were telling me no." The 38 year old has since launched her own therapy practice, and offers $5,000 (£3,330) college scholarships each semester to female rappers through the non-profit Hip Hop Association.
But she admits her hip-hop background has helped her connect to her clients: "People put such a taboo on therapy, they feel it means they’re going crazy. No, it doesn’t. It just means you need someone else to talk to. They can’t really let loose and enjoy life. So I just let them unlock those doors."

Rocker DEAN TURNER from Australian guitar band MAGIC DIRT has died at the age of 37.
The bass player passed away on Friday (21Aug09) from a rare form of deep tissue cancer. He was due to perform with the band on the day he died.
Founding member Turner played alongside Hole and Sonic Youth during his time in the group, and also produced recordings for a number of Australian bands, including theredsunband, Sons Of The Sun, and Violent Soho.
Magic Dirt was also due to perform a concert in Victoria, Australia on Friday (28Aug09), although it is unknown whether the rest of the band will continue to play the show.
Turner is survived by his wife and two daughters, Charlie and Evie.

THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS star MILES KANE has quit British band THE RASCALS to launch a solo career.
Kane previously collaborated with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner to create The Last Shadow Puppets, but the musicians dissolved the act to go back to their original bands following their U.K. number one album The Age of the Understatement last year (08).
Singer-guitarist Kane continued to work as part of British trio The Rascals - but has now decided to split up and concentrate on his solo work.
A spokesperson tells NME.com, "We can confirm that The Rascals have parted ways. Miles Kane is currently writing new material and has been in the studio recording some tracks by himself."

THE ENEMY frontman TOM CLARKE has urged OASIS fans to sympathise with the band after they cancelled their headline slot at Britain’s V Festival on Sunday (23Aug09).
The Wonderwall hitmakers were due to close the event in Chelmsford, England but scrapped their performance just hours before they were due on stage after singer Liam Gallagher was struck down with laryngitis.
Thousands of fans were left disappointed by the move, with cynics suggesting the group pulled out because of an ongoing feud between Liam and his brother/bandmate Noel.
Last week (beg17Aug09) Liam admitted the brothers don’t like each other and relations have become so strained between the pair that they have to travel separately.
But Clarke, whose own band recently supported Oasis on tour and also played at V Festival, insists the illness is legitimate and the rockers are too professional to let their disagreements get in the way of their music.
He says, "If theyâve cancelled it’s for a legitimate reason. I hope everyone cuts him a bit of slack and doesn’t whinge (moan) about it, ‘cos s**t happens.
"They’ve been on tour since forever. I’m pretty sure they’ve hated each other since the ’90s. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have surmounted in Liam not playing V because they’ve just realised they don’t get on with each other.
"They get on with it. They manage to go on stage and play amazing shows, probably the best live band in the world. The fact of the matter is, the lad’s probably got a sore throat. Give him a break. Let him have a day off."

ADAM SANDLER hated playing a foul-mouthed stand-up comic in upcoming movie FUNNY PEOPLE - because he felt "dirty" telling rude jokes now he is a dad.
The Wedding Singer star began his career at comedy clubs while he was studying at New York University, before he was spotted by a talent scout and hired as a writer on hit U.S. show Saturday Night Live.
Sandler abandoned stand-up as his movie career took off, but returned to his roots with a role in Judd Apatow’s new film.
But the actor felt guilty performing raunchy jokes while his two daughters were asleep at his family home.
He says, "This was stuff I hadn’t done in a long time. I haven’t talked that filthy in front of people. I went on stage and was as filthy as I could be. Then I would drive home and I’d be in my driveway alone and think of my two little kids sleeping and I’d just feel like the biggest, dirtiest human being."

Former Disney star VIRGINIA DAVIS-MCGHEE has died, aged 90.
Davis-McGhee, who became Walt Disneyâs first film star at the age of four, died on 15 August (09) at her home in Corona, California.
She won over audiences as the curly-haired star of a series of short silent films in the 1920s called Alice in Cartoonland - eight years before the network’s iconic Mickey Mouse character took over as Disney’s most celebrated star.
She went on to film Aliceâs Wonderland, playing a young girl who falls into a dream world similar to the original story of Aliceâs Adventures in Wonderland - and made more than 12 Alice films by 1924.
Three other child actresses succeeded her in the role after Davis-McGhee dropped out over a pay dispute. However, she continued to act, playing small film roles for other studios, including parts in 1946’s The Harvey Girls and 1941 movie Week-End in Havana. She also voiced some supporting characters in Pinocchio.
Davis-McGhee is survived by her daughters Margaret Sufke and Laurieanne Zandbergen - by her late husband Robert McGhee - and three grandchildren.

Former child star-turned-designer ASHLEY OLSEN is contemplating a return to her acting roots - she wants to walk away from the fashion industry.
The 23 year old and her twin sister Mary-Kate are partners in women’s fashion collection The Row.
The former Full House star abandoned her career as an actress to pursue her dream of designing full-time when she took over the reigns while her sister continued to act.
But Ashley admits she sees another career switch in the future - and hasn’t ruled out returning to her acting roots.
She says, "(In the fashion world) everyone is just really looking out for themselves. I don’t know if I’ll be designing this collection forever. A couple of years from now, I’m sure I’ll want to do something else, and I’m not going to shy away from that. What if I just want to be an artist, or if I want to go back to acting? Which is not in the cards, but what if I wanted to do that?"

Actress SOPHIA BUSH narrowly avoided a traffic disaster while walking through New York’s busy streets - after a collision with a cyclist.
The One Tree Hill star was struggling to find a taxi in Manhattan’s East Village on Friday (21Aug09) when she turned around and accidentally struck a biker, sending the pedal pusher flying to the pavement.
The 27-year-old actress reportedly apologised to the unidentified woman, whom she helped pick up off the ground before helping her with her bike.
According to the New York Post, the woman appeared uninjured, and rode away.

EDDIE CIBRIAN’s estranged wife has confirmed she is filing for divorce, amid allegations the actor is having an affair with his NORTHERN LIGHTS co-star LEANN RIMES.
Rimes and Cibrian have been dogged by romance rumours since they were caught on camera kissing during an intimate dinner in California in March (09) while on a break from filming the TV movie.
The Blue singer is rumoured to have split from her husband of seven years Dean Sheremet, while Cibrian - who has denied an affair - has separated from his wife, Brandi Glanville.
The pair stepped out together to attend a Kings of Leon concert in Los Angeles at the weekend (22-23Aug09) just days after Cibrian was snapped leaving Rimes’ home in Santa Monica, California after allegedly spending the night.
And Glanville admits her estranged husband’s recent outings with Rimes have prompted her to make their split official.
She tells People.com, "I don’t understand. You think you know one thing and you wake up and it’s all been a lie. He’s just somebody I don’t know… I’m just like, ‘You know what? You’re not the man I married.’ There is one side of him that I absolutely love and always will, but that side of him is not the side I’m divorcing." Cibrian and Glanville share sons Mason, six, and Jake, two.

AMY WINEHOUSE has confirmed she is still in love with her ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL and wants to reunite with him.
The pair, who wed in Miami, Florida in 2007 after a whirlwind romance, divorced last month (Jul09) with Fielder-Civil citing adultery as the reason for the split. Winehouse later admitted the infidelity in court papers.
Just days after the divorce was finalised Fielder-Civil sold intimate details about their marriage to a British tabloid.

Transport chiefs in New York have blocked plans to rename the site of MICHAEL JACKSON’s iconic BAD promo in honour of the star.
Jackson teamed up with director Martin Scorsese to shoot the film at Hoyt-Schermerhorn subway station, Brooklyn, in 1987.
Fans have called for the transport hub to be renamed after Jackson and for a plaque to be put up on a platform in tribute to the singer.
But officials at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority have blocked the plan - because they fear travellers will be confused by the name-change.
New York City Councilwoman Letitia James, who is leading the campaign, tells the New York Post, "Having Michael Jackson visit and moonwalk at this station was a huge deal not only for Brooklyn, but all of New York in the ’80s. And renaming this station in his honour would put it on the map and help ensure that people don’t forget." MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said plaques are prohibited at stations.
The 16-minute Bad video featured Jackson dancing with pals, and also starred a young, then-unknown Wesley Snipes.

JANET JACKSON is reportedly writing a tell-all book about her famous family - to help cope with her brother MICHAEL’s death.
In the tome, the singer will pour out her emotions over the Thriller star’s tragic passing in June (09), and also detail issues over her self esteem and her weight, according to In Touch Weekly.
A source tells the magazine, âShe is going to talk about Michaelâs death and how itâs affected her and his children and the rest of the family… A lot of it will focus on her battle with self-esteem and weight.
"Sheâs a huge success. But thatâs not always what she has seen when she looks in the mirror, so the book will talk about how she has coped, and about her family relationships. She wants to help other young women out there.â

Police in Los Angeles are investigating reports MICHAEL JACKSON may have used two secret email addresses to help him buy prescription drugs.
The Thriller hitmaker passed away on 25 June (09) after suffering a cardiac arrest, and rumours of substance abuse problems have swirled in the wake of his death, with strong painkiller Demerol at the centre of the investigation.
Police officers have now discovered the late King of Pop operated two email addresses through internet sites gmail and AOL.
They are currently waiting for a search warrant to be issued so that they can look through the email accounts to see if he used them to contact doctors or illegal pharmaceutical websites to obtain medication, according to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper.
A source tells the publication, "They could hold vital evidence with regard to Michael’s death and the drugs he was using regularly. Not only did he get prescription drugs through a network of doctors, it’s believed he may also have got them from illegal websites or drug cartels. The LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) had to get a search warrant first and this takes a few days." It also emerged last week (beg17Aug09) that Jackson had a private mobile cellphone line which investigators believe he used to source prescription drugs.
