OASIS will still be rocking when they are senior citizens, according to LIAM GALLAGHER’s sister-in-law, former ALL SAINTS star NATALIE APPLETON.
Rumours have circled suggesting the Wonderwall hitmakers will call it a day after a string of public spats between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.
Speculation reached fever pitch after the group scrapped their headlining slot at Britain’s V Festival on Sunday (23Aug09), with many fans expecting a split statement to follow.
The band quickly quashed the reports - insisting the axed gig was due to frontman Liam’s throat virus, and that they planned to continue touring and recording in the future.
And Gallagher’s extended family have backed-up the promise - Liam’s wife’s sister Natalie Appleton insists the band will die before they give up on Oasis.
She tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, "Oasis will die before they split up… they’re going to go on for ever until they are old men.
"The guys were so devastated (about axing the V performance). Liam watched from his sick bed. Liam was so happy (stand-in headliners) Snow Patrol and Keane sang some of their songs. He thought that was brilliant."

British band MAXIMO PARK are the latest rockers to fall victim to illness - the group has scrapped its entire U.S. tour for "personal reasons".
Maximo Park were scheduled to jet to America for a series of dates in September (09), starting in Seattle, Washington and concluding in Washinton, D.C.
But the rockers have been forced to scrap all of their gigs, citing illness has the reason for the cancellations.
A statement from the band’s website reads, "We regret to inform you that, for personal reasons, we’ve had to cancel our tour of the USA, which was planned for September.
"We wholeheartedly apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us perform and we will do everything we can to reschedule the shows. We’ve always enjoyed visiting North America in the past and are bitterly disappointed to be missing out this time. When we return, it’ll be with as much energy and passion as ever." Maximo Park aren’t the only rock stars to be struck down by injury and ailments this month (Aug09) - Steven Tyler, Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, Rod Stewart, Tommy Lee, Liam Gallagher and Zakk Wylde are all currently out of action.

British singer-turned-reality-TV star KERRY KATONA is in trouble again - she was arrested on suspicion of assault after allegedly throwing a cup of tea over her financial adviser and punching him.
The embattled former Atomic Kitten star was taken in for questioning by U.K. cops on Wednesday (26Aug09) following accusations of assault and criminal damage against accountant David McHugh.
The allegations come just days after she was cautioned by police for possessing drugs following British tabloid the News of the World’s expose, in which the publication published snaps of her snorting cocaine.
And things got worse for Katona after she stormed into McHugh’s office and reportedly hurled a cup of tea over him, before punching him and trashing the room.
A source tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper, "She had been through her accounts and was raging. She went to his office to speak to him and was screaming and kicking off. Then she punched him in the face.
"David started yelling back so she grabbed a cup of tea and threw it in his face - and punched him in the chops (face) again for good measure." The accountant immediately filed a complaint against the star and she was visited by police officers at her home in Wilmslow, north west England and arrested.
Katona was questioned before being released on bail.
A spokesperson for Cheshire police says, "At approximately 3.50pm this afternoon, Cheshire Police attended a premises following a report of an assault.
"A 28-year-old woman from the Wilmslow area has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence." It’s the latest in a string of bad press for the MTV reality star - in the last 12 months she has been declared bankrupt, threatened her husband Mark Croft with divorce and lost a lucrative deal with food retailer Iceland.

Rapper JADAKISS has distanced himself from a recent drugs scandal at his New York home - insisting he had no involvement in the huge stash of narcotics and cash found during a police raid at the address.
The star’s apartment in Yonkers was targeted by cops on Friday (21Aug09), who obtained a search warrant for the premises after arresting two men in a car outside the building on drugs charges.
Officers burst into the residence and discovered a stash of heroin and marijuana as well as $40,000 (£25,000) in cash.
And Jadakiss, who was not at home at the time of the raid and is not wanted in connection to the find, dismisses the incident as an "unfortunate situation" he had no dealings in.
In a statement to Allhiphop.com he says, "What happened on Saturday was an unfortunate situation but one in which I have no involvement in.
"Since the release of my recent album The Last Kiss, I have been on the road touring and promoting my project. I am focused on my performance schedule and career."

Former DUKES OF HAZZARD star JOHN SCHNEIDER is still cashing in on his role as ‘good ol’ boy’ Bo Duke - he’s showing off memorabilia from the beloved show in a new DVD.
Collecting Hazzard features the actor taking a look at the world of Dukes of Hazzard merchandising and showing off his own personal collection of cars, bubble gum and lunchboxes.

Actress PARKER POSEY has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
The 40-year-old Best In Show star has pulled out of an off-Broadway play, called This, to focus on battling her tick-borne illness.
Lyme Disease is treatable if diagnosed early, as it has been for Posey. If left untreated, bacteria can lead to severe brain and heart problems.
Producers of This plan to go ahead with the play in November (09), but have yet to name Posey’s replacement.

90210 hunk DUSTIN MULLIGAN has revealed he was a front runner for the role of brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the TWILIGHT movie saga - but he missed out because he wasn’t British enough.
The young actor, who played Ethan in the first season of the hit TV drama, auditioned for Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, but lost out to Brit Robert Pattinson.
He says, "Unfortunately, I didn’t have a British accent, so, I didn’t get the job." As upset as he was about not landing the lead role, Mulligan admits he was really disappointed about the fact he wouldn’t be working with his In the Land of Women co-star Kristen Stewart again.
He adds, "Kristen was actually a remarkable young woman. I met her when she was 15… She’s really really smart… She’s got the potential to do anything."

Troubled actor TOM SIZEMORE has been charged with spousal battery following his arrest for an alleged assault on a woman during a heated argument earlier this month (Aug09).
The Saving Private Ryan star was arrested and booked on a charge of misdemeanour domestic violence following the late night altercation in Los Angeles on 5 August (09).
He has now been charged with one count of spousal battery, according to TMZ.com. The identity of the woman he is accused of assaulting is still not known.
Sizemore faces 12-months jail time and a hefty fine if he is found guilty of the offence.
The star has previously been convicted of beating a woman - he was found guilty of assaulting his then-girlfriend, Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, in 2003.
Sizemore was also arrested in May (09) on an outstanding warrant for drug charges.

Oscar-winner KATE WINSLET has signed up to narrate a heartbreaking new documentary about an Icelandic mother trying to come to terms with her son’s autism.
The actress was compelled to be a part of director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson’s The Sunshine Boy after watching footage he sent her.
The film chronicles film producer Margret Dagmar Ericsdottir as she struggles to understand her severely autistic son Keli.
The star of the film says, "I am delighted and honoured that Kate agreed to do the narration. Her contribution plays an instrumental role in increasing awareness for autism, which many claim is the world’s fastest-growing epidemic." The Sunshine Boy is expected to receive rave reviews when it debuts as part of the Real to Reel section of the Toronto International Film Festival on 12 September (09). It features musical contributions from Icelandic stars Bjork and Sigur Ros.

A 24-year-old San Francisco, California man is requesting an official DNA test to prove he’s MICHAEL JACKSON’s son.
Prince Michael Malachi Jet Jackson filed a creditor’s claim in Los Angeles on Tuesday (25Aug09), insisting he’s due a share of the King of Pop’s fortune.
The 24 year old submitted a birth certificate, which lists a "Michael Joseph Jackson" of Indiana as the father and Zerline LaVette Dixon as the mother, with his claim.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ.com, the Jackson family pressured Prince Michael not to reveal his true identity.

A waxwork double of MICHAEL JACKSON the King of Pop personally endorsed before his death is to be unveiled at Hollywood’s new Madame Tussauds on Thursday (27Aug09).
The figure was being made in London to mark the debut of his comeback This Is It concerts in July (09), and features the lifelike pop star wearing clothes identical to the wardrobe he was planning to wear onstage in the U.K.
Madame Tussauds bosses were keen to complete work on the waxwork, which was put on ice following Jackson’s death, so the $300,000 (£200,000) figure could be unveiled in Los Angeles in time for what would have been the singer’s 51st birthday on 29 August (09).

Rockers LOU REED and LAURIE ANDERSON have just treated themselves to a new holiday home in East Hampton, New York.
The couple paid almost $1.5 million (GBP1 million) for the historic two bedroom pad near Amagansett.

MADONNA has ruled out a gruelling desert challenge in Morocco - her publicist has denied reports she’ll be taking part in 2010’s Marathon des Sables.

Reclusive former RAINBOW rocker RITCHIE BLACKMORE was so incensed to hear his German lovechild had taken his place in spin-off OVER THE RAINBOW, he insisted the guitarist change his name.
Singer Joe Lynn Turner reveals his former bandmate wanted nothing to do with the revamped band and seemed fine when his son Jurgen agreed to join up for a tour of Europe.
But then things turned sour.
The singer tells Britain’s Classic Rock magazine, "Certain people… who are very close to him (Ritchie Blackmore) started to put ideas into his head. Then Ritchie suddenly became very antagonistic.
"Things got so bad that he insisted Jurgen, his own son, couldn’t use the name Blackmore. Jurgen’s full name is Jurgen Richard Blackmore - it says so on his birth certificate.
"He ended up sending a copy of that to Ritchie, to prove he had every right to the name. Thankfully, that’s all behind us now, and everything’s back on an even keel."

Comic ANDY DICK has donned his RONALD MCDONALD costume again for a spoof interview.
The anti-fast food activist dressed up as the beloved McDonald’s clown for a recent People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) protest and now he’s playing the colourful character in a new viral video skit.
Dick, as McDonald, sits down with Martin Short’s offensive interviewer Jiminy Glick to discuss the fast food chain’s questionable slaughter practices. The video is the focus of a unique online PETA campaign.
A spokesman for the animal rights organisation says, "The parody focuses on McDonald’s chicken slaughter practices. PETA, along with members of McDonald’s own animal welfare advisory panel, has urged McDonald’s in the U.S. and Canada to switch to a less cruel slaughter method that some of the company’s suppliers in Europe already use.
"McDonald’s North American suppliers use an outdated method that causes birds to suffer serious injuries, including broken wings and broken legs. The birds’ throats are cut while they are still conscious, and many of them are scalded to death in defeathering tanks."

Emmy Award-winning director JASON BROWN has shot a new documentary about the town that is home to the TWILIGHT movie saga.
Twilight in Forks takes a look at the real people and places of the remote Washington state town, where the vampire film franchise, adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s books, is based.
The film, released on DVD in September (09), documents the story of "the rainiest city in the U.S." and the untold tales of its "hidden history, culture and mysticism".
Locals consider why Meyer used their town as the backdrop for her hit books and the Chief of Police recounts the meal he cooked for the author when she visited the town for research.
There’s also a real-life Bella Swan living in the town, who appears on camera - a young store employee who often gets mistaken for Kristen Stewart’s vampire-loving character.
