DISTRICT ATTORNEY DISMISSES DR. MURRAY MANSLAUGHTER STORY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:42 pm

Officials at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office have dismissed Internet reports suggesting they are gearing up to charge MICHAEL JACKSON’s personal physician DR. CONRAD MURRAY with manslaughter.
One report suggests Murray, who was living with the King of Pop when he died in June (09), will be accused of killing the pop star in the next two weeks.
But the District Attorney’s office authorities insist the story is "completely and totally false".
FOXNews.com reported on Wednesday (19Aug09) that the doctor, who has been interviewed several times by authorities, would face criminal charges due to his alleged involvement in the King of Pop’s death.
The story surfaced 24 hours after Dr. Murray filmed a one-minute video, professing his innocence and thanking patients and friends for their support, and posted it on website YouTube.com.
Murray has been a person of interest ever since Jackson died on 25 June (09). Investigators have been looking into whether Murray gave the pop star the anaesthetic Propofol in the hours before his death.

NAMIBIANS THRILLED WITH JOLIE’S BICYCLE GIFTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:39 pm

ANGELINA JOLIE deserves a sainthood, according to the children she helped by donating the profits from her family photos of baby SHILOH in 2006.
The actress agreed to distribute the $4 million (GBP2.6 million) she made from showing off Shiloh, who was born in Namibia, to local schools - and the kids she helped back then are now flourishing thanks to the hand-out.
Children attending the Okanimekwa School, which received an estimated $10,000 (GBP6,660) of the photo cash, can’t thank the actress and human rights activist enough - because her donation helped to buy them bicycles.
In a new Life & Style magazine expose, teenager Emiliana Shikongo says, "She’s (Jolie) a very special person, and we’ll never forget her. She must be a holy person." And schoolpal Andreas Kristofelius adds, "I think Angelina Jolie must be a saint." The school bought 75 bicycles to help struggling pupils, and Shikongo was among those to reap the benefits of the gift.
She tells the publication her new mode of transport has shaved 90 minutes off her journey to school - and no longer means she has to leave at 5am and return after dark.
She says, "Now I can stay at school until 4 or 5pm to finish my homework and I still get home before dark. Now my teachers and parents are happy with my performance." Kristofelius, 17, adds, "I used to stay late at school, then walk home to collect firewood to make light so I could finish my homework (because) there is no electricity… Now, with the bicycle, I get to school early, and I’m already working when my teacher arrives. And I can stay later and finish all my homework because it doesn’t take me long to ride home."

RADCLIFFE: ‘I DON’T WANT HOBBIT ROLE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:36 pm

HARRY POTTER star DANIEL RADCLIFFE has ruled himself out of a planned LORD OF THE RINGS prequel - because he doesn’t want to play BILBO BAGGINS.
The young actor has long been considered the hot favourite to lead the cast of The Hobbit - but he insists the role should go to someone else.
He says, "I’d have to say, ‘Thanks but no thanks,’ not that anyone has asked me.
"Honestly, I don’t think they would want me anyway; it’s just too close (to Potter franchise). Whatever I do next, I don’t think there will be any wizards in it!" Radcliffe, who is currently working on the final two films in the Potter franchise, would like to see Scottish actor James McAvoy as J.R.R. Tolkien’s most famous literary character in Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro’s new film.
He adds, "James McAvoy is fantastic. I think he should play it. I’ve done the fantasy film thing. Actually, so has he, with the Chronicles of Narnia, of course. But I’ve done it for longer. He can take over. I’m done."

HAMILTON PLANS SECOND BITE AT CULT HORROR COMEDY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

GEORGE HAMILTON is set to vamp it up again for laughs as the producer of a new comedy horror sequel of his hit film LOVE AT FIRST BITE.
It has been 20 years since the movie star played Count Vladimir Dracula in the cult 1979 movie and now he’s back for more blood with a camp sequel called Batrimony: Love At Second Bite.
He tells WENN, "It’s terrific. It’s all about old world school of Dracula in the Bella Legosi 1940s up against the Twilight felons with humour. It’s hard to do but it’s great fun." And Hamilton thinks the time is perfect for another vampire movie spoof: "I think Twilight is a wonderful series of books. It’s so important for these young girls with hormonal changes and this love that’s worth giving your life for. But now I have a find a way to bring my Love At First Bite character into that kind of story and make it funny and not be at all like Twilight and I think I found a way to do that." And Batrimony isn’t the only film project Hamilton is working on - he’s also producing a movie about movie legend Errol Flynn’s son Sean, who was captured by the Khmer Rouge during the Vietnam War.
He adds, "It’s a wonderful story."

LOHAN TOO ‘JADED’ TO PLAY SEXUALLY CURIOUS TEEN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:15 pm

LINDSAY LOHAN has been snubbed for a new film role about a sexually curious teen - after producers ruled the troubled star is too "jaded" to play the part.
The actress has struggled to reclaim a top spot at the box-office since 2004’s Mean Girls, and her promising career has been marred by a string of drink driving charges and allegations of excess boozing and partying.
Just last week (begs10Aug09) Lohan denied reports her on/off lesbian lover Samantha Ronson staged an intervention to confront the star about her alleged drug abuse, brushing the reports off as "weird".
And writer Allison Burnett has now revealed she’s passed up the actress as a prospect in a movie adaptation of her novel Undiscovered Gyrl, about a teen blogging about her sexual coming-of-age - because of Lohan’s troubled past.
Burnett tells U.S. magazine OK!, "(Lohan) is a wonderful actress, but her fame and baggage would only work against her."

LAW HOPES TO TURN HOLMES INTO A FRANCHISE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:15 pm

British actor JUDE LAW is praying his new SHERLOCK HOLMES film is a success - because he’d love to see the classic tale turn into a movie franchise.
The Alfie star takes on the role of Dr. Watson alongside Robert Downey Jr. as the legendary detective in Guy Ritchie’s new epic.
Law admits he relished the chance to bring Arthur Conan Doyle’s original stories to the big screen and hopes the public enjoy the new movie, because there is plenty more material for sequels.
He tells Empire magazine, "No (it will not be a one-off). The more you work on the substance of a film, the more you go back to the source material and the more you realise there is to tell. There are fantastic stories and even better characters. We would love that the audience falls in love with it (the movie) as much as we have, as then we can (make) a whole bunch more." While Downey Jr. reveals he too is keen to film a follow-up, adding, "We definitely agreed to renegotiate for a part two. We feel really strongly about that. We might shoot the next one abroad."
