Former CLASH rocker MICK JONES has thrown his weight behind a rumoured LIBERTINES reunion - offering to reprise his role as the indie band’s producer.

Five years on, talk of a comeback is hotting up - and Jones insists he wants to be involved.
He tells The Quietus, "Oh yes, please, you know? I haven’t heard anything from them, but I hope they do (get back in the studio). I love them. If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be, and if it’s written then it’s written. I hope it happens."

MILIAN CONFIRMS ENGAGEMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

R&B singer CHRISTINA MILIAN has reportedly confirmed she is engaged to her music producer boyfriend THE-DREAM.
The Dip it Low hitmaker, 27, showed off a six-carat sparkler while they were in New York on Saturday (18Jul09) - but has not yet planned her wedding.
She tells Usmagazine.com, "We don’t have plans yet - but it hasn’t (already) happened, that I can confirm. We just want to have our closest friends and family there; it’s not going to be too big." And the 25-year-old producer - real name Terius Nash - admits the couple is eager to start a family.
He adds, "I love kids, and (Christina) loves kids probably more than I do. I think when you’re a female in this business, it’s kinda hard to do the natural thing that you want to do. You have to do your work - then whenever she makes that time for herself - she’ll make that time (to have a baby). In the next couple of years, there’ll be something around." It will be the first marriage for Milian, who previously dated Mariah Carey’s husband, rapper/actor Nick Cannon. The-Dream’s marriage to singer Nivea ended in 2007.

LAZENBY WANTS PRE-NUP VOIDED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

JAMES BOND star GEORGE LAZENBY has launched a court battle to nullify a prenuptial agreement with his estranged wife PAM SHRIVER.
Former tennis player Shriver filed for divorce from the actor last year (08) after a six-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
She accused Lazenby of threatening to kill her, assaulting her in a drunken rage, and giving alcohol to their three children - all of which he has denied.
And now the 69-year-old actor is hitting back - by demanding a judge overturns their prenuptial agreement because his wife is so rich, according to TMZ.com.
In papers filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court, Lazenby also asks for $16,133 (£10,755) in spousal support.
He claims his estranged wife is "30 times a millionaire" and he doesn’t want to explain the difference in their lifestyles to their kids, five-year-old George, Jr. and twins Kate and Sam, three.

ABDUL’S AMERICAN IDOL FUTURE UNCERTAIN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:03 am

PAULA ABDUL is set for a move away from the judging panel on AMERICAN IDOL, after the talent show’s bosses failed to offer her a new deal.
The star has been on the U.S. TV show since its 2002 debut, alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi.
But bosses have failed to sign Abdul up for the 2010 season yet - and the 47 year old is doubting her future on the singing show.
Her manager, David Sonenberg, tells the Los Angeles Times, "Very sadly, it does not appear that she’s going to be back on Idol." Abdul is "hurt and angry" that studio heads have not been in touch with her regarding a new contract.
Sonenberg adds, "I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual - I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that (Idol production companies Fremantle and 19 Entertainment) haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.
"She’s not a happy camper as a result of what’s going on. She’s hurt. She’s angry. I think at this point we’re going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows." Sonenberg has spoken to executives at Fox Network, but adds: "I have not received any proposal whatsoever."

JACKSON BROTHERS SET FOR LONDON GIGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:00 am

MICHAEL JACKSON’s brothers are reportedly set to take on a number of the KING OF POP’s planned comeback concerts in London.
The Thriller hitmaker planned a 50-date residency at the U.K capital’s O2 arena, starting earlier this month (Jul09) and spanning into next year (09).
His death of a cardiac arrest last month (Jun09) left a string of empty dates at the venue, with bosses at promoters AEG Live facing a race against time to fill the slots.
The star’s Jackson 5 bandmates - Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon - were allegedly approached by the company to stage a number of shows in honour of their late brother.
They are now in final negotiations to do the gigs, according to the Los Angeles Times.

JACKSON OWES MILLIONS TO TAXMAN AFTER DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:00 am

MICHAEL JACKSON’s children’s inheritance will dramatically shrink after it was revealed the late singer owes the taxman $80 million (£48 million).
The King of Pop passed away last month (09) leaving behind kids Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, aka Blanket.
Before the children can be given any cash from the star’s album sales, the executors of his will must pay a federal estate tax bill of at least $80 million (£48 million) - a "death tax" law passed by former President George Bush.
America’s International Revenue Service requires the bill to be paid within nine months of the Thriller hitmaker’s death.
A source tells Britain’s Sunday Express that Jackson’s family was prepared for a death tax bill, but had no idea it would be so high.
The source says, "This is a terrible added burden for the family to have to carry at a time like this. There’s no question that it’s going to mean a lot less money going to Michael’s children."

VELVET REVOLVER STILL SINGER-LESS AFTER 16 MONTHS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:57 am

VELVET REVOLVER are still searching for a lead singer, more than a year after previous frontman SCOTT WEILAND left the band.
A number of rockers have been linked with the role, made vacant after Weiland fell out with bandmates and returned to the Stone Temple Pilots, but guitarist Slash is holding out for the right candidate.
He tells RollingStone.com, “I haven’t heard any amazing submissions from singers as of late. Velvet when it finds the right guy will be amazing, but I’m in no rush. I’m not freaking out - because that’s how we got Scott in the first place. He was the first decent guy that came up.” Slash refuses to slam Weiland, whose departure was blamed on his “increasingly erratic onstage behaviour and personal problems”, and insists there are no hard feelings, adding, “Scott to me is now like George Bush - y’know, I like him now that he’s not here."

MCNAIR’S ESTATE IN TURMOIL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:54 am

The family of former American footballer STEVE MCNAIR is facing a battle over his estate - because the murdered sports star did not leave a will.
The married former Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens quarterback, 36, was discovered on 4 July (09) in a downtown Nashville condominium with shots to his head and chest. The body of his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, was found nearby, with just one gunshot.
Tennessee police announced McNair was killed by Kazemi - who they believe fired a semi-automatic weapon, recovered from beside her own body, before turning the gun on herself.
His family was left devastated by the tragedy, and his widow Mechelle has been appointed administrator of his estate in a bid to sort out his affairs.
She named her two sons, Tyler and Trenton, as heirs - but failed to mention McNair’s two sons from a prior relationship, Steven McNair Jr. and Steven O’Brian Koran McNair, as heirs.
According to Tennessee law, Mechelle will get a third of the estate and the remaining two-thirds will be split evenly among the named heirs - meaning two of McNair’s sons will receive none of their father’s assets.
