BENNINGTON UNVEILS ‘DARK’ SIDE PROJECT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 am

LINKIN PARK frontman CHESTER BENNINGTON has written so much new music, he has formed a new band to release it with.
The rocker will unveil Dead by Sunrise this autumn (09) as an outlet for a new album of material he claims was "too dark" for the Numb hitmakers.
Bennington reveals, "I came up with a few songs that felt and sounded really good, but I knew they weren’t right stylistically for Linkin Park. They were darker and moodier than anything I’d come up with for the band. So I decided to work on them on my own rather than turn them over and have them transformed into Linkin Park tracks." Dead by Sunrise’s album will be called Out of Ashes.

ROSS ‘NOT FIGHTING’ WITH JACKSON FAMILY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

DIANA ROSS has hit back at rumours she’s embroiled in a feud with JACKSON family matriarch KATHERINE - branding reports the pair are at odds over custody over the King of Pop’s children "ridiculous".
The singer’s longtime friend Ross was named in Jackson’s will as an alternative guardian for Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II - if his mother Katherine was unable to care for them.
The decision was unpopular among family members who have challenged the will, which was drawn up in 2002.
Jackson’s sister LaToya told reporters, "We believe there is another will which will emerge. He updated his will almost every five years, so we expect one to come from 2007. Michael always told us that he wanted his eldest sister, Rebbie Jackson, to look after the children. Rebbie had a nice family, which Michael loved. He told many family members that she was his choice." Despite the controversy, Ross insists there is no bitterness between her and the Jackson family.
A spokesperson for the star says, "Ms. Ross has deep love for the Jackson family."

BUTLER’S MOOD MUSIC

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

GERARD BUTLER uses music to help him prepare mentally for emotional movie scenes - because hard rock bands like AC/DC drive him to tears.
The actor admits certain bands and genres are guaranteed to put him in the right frame of mind to tackle tough tasks onscreen - and his picks are often unorthodox.
Butler tells WENN, "I have done it for movies, especially when it’s an emotional scene. To really put you in the mood, definitely. Techno makes me want to cry. Hard rock. AC/DC made me want to cry or shoot myself, one of the two."

The star is still bemused by just how much of a global phenomenon the boy wizard franchise has become, and he was given a taste of how crazy some fans were while promoting the new film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in New York.
Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the movie adaptations, tells the New York Daily News, "We felt like the Beatles because there were people cheering. We thought we would put the (car) window down and be like, ‘Hi, it’s nice to see you.’ "We put the window down, this woman reached right in and grabbed my hair. (We were like), ‘Pull the window up, pull the window up!’"

GAINSBOURG FEARED VON TRIER’S ANXIETY ATTACKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:51 am

CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG was terrified of taking on a role in LARS VON TRIER’s horror/drama ANTICHRIST after the film-maker warned he was suffering panic attacks that could force him to quit the shoot.
The actress was desperate to work with the Danish director, although she worried she didn’t fully understand his complex script, about a couple coping with the loss of their only child.
Gainsbourg’s fears intensified after von Trier took her aside onset and confessed he was struggling with debilitating anxiety he sometimes felt unable to control.
She recalls, "I hadn’t met him before so I didn’t know what kind of man he was, but he did explain in a very simple way that he had had a depression, that he was under heavy medication, and just trying to deal with his panic attacks that he had all the time.
"That was scary because he came up after the first week, to me and to Willem (Dafoe, co-star), and explained that he didn’t know if he could finish the film, that he didn’t know how to cope with his attacks, that I would have to excuse him if he ran away, and I was terrified at the thought that he would leave me - leave me on my own to make the film." And while critics booed von Trier’s violent and graphic movie at the Cannes Film Festival in France in May (09), Gainsbourg was still lauded for her performance, taking home the best actress prize at the prestigious event.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

Pregnant supermodel HEIDI KLUM sparked a water balloon war between parents and members of the paparazzi last week (ends17Jul09) when the snappers refused to leave her and her kids alone during a visit to a New York playground.
The German beauty took her three children - daughter Leni, five, and sons Henry, three, and Johan, two - to a playground in the city’s West Village and photographers pounced as soon as they spotted the star and her family.

A source tells the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, "Heidi left after that. It got too dramatic."

50 CENT SHAVES MILLIONS MORE OFF CONNECTICUT MANSION PRICE TAG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

Rap superstar 50 CENT has slashed a further $3.6 million (£2.4 million) off the price of his Connecticut mansion after failing to shift the property on the struggling housing market.
The In Da Club hitmaker - real name Curtis Jackson - bought the sprawling 19 bedroom, 37 bathroom house in Farmington in 2003 from retired boxing champ Mike Tyson.
He paid $5 million (£3.3 million) for the estate, but spent millions on improvements.
50 Cent then put the property up for sale in 2007, and lowered the asking price from $18.5 million to $14.5 million at the end of last year (08).
But the mansion failed to attract any interest and it was pulled it from the market in May (09).
However, 50 is having another go at off-loading the expensive property and has shaved a further few millions off the price tag in a bid to lure potential buyers.
The home has been at the centre of a lengthy legal battle between the rapper and bosses at an engineering company, who he claimed mislead him over the purchase of the house and the repairs it needed. The dispute was settled in court last month (Jun09), although the terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

APOLOGETIC BROWN ASKS FOR FANS’ FORGIVENESS FOR RIHANNA ASSAULT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

CHRIS BROWN has begged for his fans’ forgiveness in a video apology in which he expresses his "deepest regret" for the February (09) fight with ex-girlfriend RIHANNA.
Brown pleaded guilty to hitting Rihanna in June (09) and was sentenced to five years supervised probation and community service. He was also ordered to stay away from the Umbrella hitmaker.
The fallen Kiss Kiss star has remained tight-lipped about the widely-reported 8 February (09) incident since his arrest, but now he’s addressed his conviction in a video to his fans, which has been posted on TMZ.com.
In the two minute tape, he says, "Hi, I’m Chris Brown. Since February my attorney has advised me not to speak out, even though ever since the incident I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility. Although I will do some interviews and answer questions in the future, I felt it was time that you heard directly from me that I’m sorry." Brown admits he is "very ashamed" of his "inexcusable" actions and wishes he could go back in time to correct his mistakes: "I have tried to live my life in a way that would make those around me proud of me, and until recently I think I was doing a pretty good job.
"I wish I had the chance to live those few moments again but unfortunately I can’t. I can’t go into what happened but most important (sic) I’m not gonna sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in being able to exercise self control but what I did was inexcusable. I am very sad and very ashamed at what I’ve done.
"My mothers and my spiritual teachers have taught me way better than that. I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I’m truly, truly sorry that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better.
"I recognise that I’ve truly been blessed; blessed with a wonderful family, wonderful friends and fans. God has been generous in giving me the ability which has brought me fame and fortune. I’ve done a lot of soul searching over the past several months, I’ve talked with my minister and my mother, and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand what happened and why. I have let a lot of people down and I realise that. And no one is more disappointed in me than I am." Brown also regrets that his actions on that fateful night led to comparisons to his own father, who he’s previously revealed abused his mother - and he’s undergoing counselling to help overcome his anger problem.
He adds: "As many of you know, I grew up in a home where there was domestic violence and I saw first hand what uncontrolled rage could do. I have sought and am continuing to seek help to ensure that what occured in February can never happen again and as I sit here today, I can tell you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that it never happens again and I promise that.
"What I did was unacceptable, 100 per cent. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please. I hope that others learn from my mistake. I intend to live my life so that I am truly worthy of the term role model. Thank you."
