WAYLETT ESCAPES JAIL SENTENCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

HARRY POTTER actor JAMIE WAYLETT has avoided a lengthy jail spell - he’s been sentenced to community service after pleading guilty to drug charges.
The 19 year old, who plays bully Vincent Crabbe in the boy wizard franchise, was arrested in April (09) after police pulled over his car and caught him in possession of several bags of marijuana.
A raid on his home in Camden, north London uncovered 10 cannabis plants and he was charged with illegal production of a Class-B drug.
Waylett confessed to the crime earlier this month (Jul09) and faced up to 14 years behind bars.
But he was given a lucky break when he appeared for sentencing at London’s Westminster Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning (21Jul09) - he was handed 120 hours of community service.
Judge Timothy Workman accepted that Waylett’s production had been "small scale" and had been growing the pot plants for his own use.
He also declared the actor was essentially a man of "good character" and let him off with a less severe punishment.

O’NEAL REMEMBERS FAWCETT’S FIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

RYAN O’NEAL has paid tribute to the strength of his beloved partner FARRAH FAWCETT - insisting the actress clung to life for as long as she could after cameras stopped rolling in her Emmy-nominated documentary.
The iconic star, mother to the actor’s 24-year-old son Redmond O’Neal, lost her battle with anal cancer on 25 June (09), aged 62.
Fawcett documented her fight with the disease in Farrah’s Story, which followed the Charlie’s Angel as she attempted to seek out new treatments in a bid to prolong her life.
The late actress received her fourth Emmy nomination on 16 July (09) when she was recognised as an executive producer of the TV project.
And O’Neal insists Fawcett continued her brave fight even after shooting stopped.
He says, "She never closed her eyes. Her eyes were open for the last three weeks, watching us. She didn’t speak much but she watched us and then finally she closed her eyes. I think she was holding on, she didn’t want to go. She had things left on her plate to finish, to accomplish. And now she has an Emmy nomination. That’s pretty wonderful."

PARIS JACKSON’S TOUCHING TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s grief-stricken daughter PARIS reduced her family to tears at her father’s private memorial service - she requested the KING OF POP’s hit track GONE TOO SOON to be played as they bid him farewell.
The Thriller hitmaker was honoured with a public ceremony at Los Angeles’ Staples Center earlier this month (07Jul09), with stars including Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey turning out to pay tribute to him.
But the Jacksons said their goodbyes in private earlier that day - and the star’s 11-year-old daughter requested her daddy’s music was played during the family service.
Jermaine Jackson tells Britain’s The Sun, "Before the memorial service there was a private service for the family and my cousin, a Jehovah’s Witness, spoke.
"My mother went in to see Michael before to check he was dressed properly and stuff. Then we all went to the private service and had a bit of time as a family to ourselves. It was mainly the immediate family and a lot of my father’s side from Arizona.
"Paris made a request to play Gone Too Soon - it was what she wanted. It was very tough. My 12-year-old son started crying. Everyone was. The kids took it very hard." R&B star Usher went on to sing the same song at the star’s public memorial service.

KATHERINE JACKSON WON’T CONTEST WILL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s mother KATHERINE has refuted reports she wants to contest her superstar son’s will.
The Jackson family matriarch sparked speculation she would challenge the will after filing a document in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (17Jul09) that sought to clarify her right to contest certain elements of her son’s last testament.
But Katherine’s attorney Londell McMillan has released a statement to RadarOnline.com insisting the 79 year old has no plans to make a move for control of the late singer’s estate.
It reads, "Despite false reports, neither Mrs. Jackson nor any of her lawyers has or will be contesting the will. Nor has she decided whether or not to raise any challenge to the appointment of the executors named in the will or whether to seek the appointment of an additional co-executor. Her top priority remains the care of her son’s three children." It was rumoured Jackson wanted to object to the appointment of longtime financial adviser John Branca and music executive John McClain as executors - without losing her beneficiary rights.
The 2002 document, which names Katherine as an indirect beneficiary of the estate, includes a clause cutting out anyone who disputes the will.
The will reportedly states Katherine will receive 40 per cent of Jackson’s estate, with a further 40 per cent going to his kids, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II aka ‘Blanket’, seven, with the remaining 20 per cent going to a number of as-yet-undecided children’s charities.

TV BOSSES EYEING BARTON’S REPLACEMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

TV bosses are reportedly casting a new female character for THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE - in case they need to write MISCHA BARTON out of the script.
The 23 year old, who was set to play a supermodel in the new series, was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold on Thursday (16Jul09), after reportedly suffering a meltdown and calling cops to her Los Angeles home the previous day.
Executives at U.S. network The CW are said to have refused to halt production to wait for Barton’s release - and are even making plans to fill her place.
Producers will not recast her catwalk queen role Sonja Stone but are instead creating a new character called Jane, who would bear a striking resemblance to Barton, reports EntertainmentWeekly.com.
Production is now scheduled to start at the end of July (09).

MILLER STRUGGLED WITH G.I. JOE ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

SIENNA MILLER is apprehensive about the release of her upcoming movie G.I. JOE - because her performance is "not the best acting" she’s done.
The Brit star plays a leather-clad spy in the film - and insists it was a challenge to move from dramas such as Factory Girl and The Edge Of Love to an all-action role.
She explains, "G.I. Joe is not going to be the best acting work I’ve ever done.
"The guys I’m fighting are all really tall - and I’m not. I have to kick a lot of them in the head, so just learning to kick very high was a challenge. Looking like you’re a good fighter is hard." And the 27 year old admits her performance was hindered by her costume - a black leather catsuit.
Miller adds, "I won’t be wearing one again. Squeezing myself into that with the aid of talcum powder every day for five months was more than enough. I could barely move in it."

PLANNING OFFICIALS WANT NEVERLAND MOVED TO VEGAS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s sprawling NEVERLAND fantasy world ranch should be dismantled and rebuilt in Las Vegas as a permanent memorial to the star, according to a planning expert.
Attempts to restore the King of Pop’s legendary home in the Santa Ynez Valley, California would cost millions of dollars, upset local residents, and could take up to ten years to develop.
But the entire property could be uprooted and moved to Sin City for a fraction of the price - making it the ideal option for a Jackson memorial.
Bob Field, former Santa Ynez Valley Planning Advisory Committee chairman, is adamant restoring Neverland to its former glory - complete with fairground rides, zoo animals, and working train - is too impractical.
He tells USA Today, "It would take five or ten years. And I wouldn’t bet that it would get approved… (In Vegas) the infrastructure’s there. Picture what they’ve built on The Strip. This is easy."

SPEARS’ CONSERVATORSHIP NEARS END

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS could soon regain control of her financial affairs - her father JAMIE is reportedly ready to give up his duties as her legal guardian.
Spears’ father was made conservator of her estate after her 2008 meltdown which led to the star being taken to hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Jamie filed a legal document last month (Jun09) certifying he had obtained a $1.5 million (£917,207) bond to keep her assets from being pillaged and ensure he would remain her financial guardian until the end of the year (09).
A judge will then review the terms of the arrangement - and a new report from TMZ.com suggests the elder Spears believes his daughter, who is currently touring the world with her Circus show, has proved she can now take care of herself without the legal arrangement.
Vendors on Spears’ tour have been told the conservatorship will remain throughout the trek, which ends in November (09).

GIBSON SPEAKS OUT OVER ‘DISTURBING’ MUSIC INDUSTRY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Former teen star DEBBIE GIBSON has warned young singers to beware of sleazy older men inviting them to music industry parties in a bid to "corrupt" them.
The Foolish Beat hitmaker, now 38, shot to fame at the age of 16 in the mid-1980s and admits she was "disturbed" by creepy older male fans who were obsessed with her clean-cut schoolgirl image.
She tells Fox News, "It is very disheartening that there are so many older men that prey on young performers. The younger you are, the more innocent you are, the more wholesome your image is, the weirder the fans become in terms of older men wanting to corrupt little girls. Even the way the paparazzi stalk the younger artists is very different from following around adults - I find that very disturbing." Gibson insists she also had to contend with sleazy music bosses who attempted to push her into a world of showbiz parties and drinking when she was still a child - and her protective parents fought hard to shelter her.
She adds, "There would be older male record executives trying to take me to parties by myself but my mom would always be like ‘She’s a sixteen year old girl, she’s not going into an atmosphere with over 21-year-olds and alcohol!’ I hadn’t had enough life experience for those situations.
"You grow up thinking ‘Everyone loves me’, but everyone who you are paying loves you. I was protected enough so that my childhood could be preserved as much as it could be in the circumstance.”

ALFAMEGA BLASTS INFORMANT REPORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Rapper ALFAMEGA has slammed reports he worked as a police informant - insisting he would never betray anyone.
Alfamega - real name Cedric Zellars - was at the centre of claims earlier this year (May09) that he passed information to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) during the investigation of a heroin trafficker named Ali Baaqar.
He was subsequently dumped from the Grand Hustle Records label by hip-hop star T.I. over the allegations.
But Alfamega has rubbished the reports - insisting he has never heard of Baaqar, or assisted the DEA in their enquiries.
He says, "I don’t know who put that out there. The dude Ali, we ain’t ever had no business together, ever. Me and that dude Ali never been in the streets together.
"There wasn’t no informant situation. I don’t work for no motherf**king DEA. I’ve never worked for the DEA."

JERMAINE JACKSON SLAMS FAMILY FEUD REPORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

JERMAINE JACKSON has slammed reports he and his mother KATHERINE are feuding following his brother MICHAEL’s death - insisting the family is united in grief.
The King of Pop’s older brother Jermaine wants the star buried at his Neverland Ranch - even though he did not live there for four years before his passing last month (Jun09).
The Thriller hitmaker deserted the sprawling California estate in 2005 after detectives investigating allegations of child molestation against the singer raided it for evidence.
Jackson was vindicated of all charges but he refused to return to the property in Santa Barbara County, and instead spent the last years of his life at various rented homes.
Reports earlier this month (Jul09) claimed Katherine Jackson was firmly against the suggestion of burying Michael at Neverland, and was at war with Jermaine over the plans.
But 54-year-old Jermaine has hit out at the allegations - insisting the Jackson family is united in finding the right burial site for Michael.
He tells Britain’s The Sun, "There is no feud going on between my mother and I. It’s just I feel he should be at Neverland as that’s what he created. We’ve been having meetings and everyone has been taking part. What is important is how we as a family make the right decision.
"Things have been said by family members because they are just letting it out. It may not be the right thing to say at the time but they’re just getting rid of hurt and pain.
"But no-one is upset at anybody. We are united but we have just lost our brother and are hurting inside. I am hurting every day. What we feel good about is he left us a big job to do - and for that reason he will always be with us."

LEE BIOPICS ON THE WAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

A film series about BRUCE LEE’s life is in the works after his siblings gave the project the green light.
Phoebe and Robert Lee have authorised a trilogy about the late martial arts star, which will focus on providing fans with an authoritative narrative of his life.
And Lee’s brother and sister hope the new movies will clear up mistakes prevalent in other biographical accounts.
Robert announced the news at a ceremony in China on Monday (20Jul09) to mark the 36th anniversary of Lee’s death in 1973.
He explains, "We’ve read many books and seen many movies about Bruce Lee, but there are many inaccuracies in them." The first film will focus on Lee’s teenage years, according to the film’s producer Manfred Wong.
Wong says, "There will be kung fu, but more importantly, we want to portray the real Bruce Lee. What is the real Bruce Lee like? He was very humorous. He was very obedient to his parents. He was very kind to his family." Enter The Dragon star Lee died at the age of 32 from brain swelling.

GAMBON SHUNS POTTER BOOKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

SIR MICHAEL GAMBON refuses to read the HARRY POTTER books - because he fears it would ruin the illusion of the wizard movies.
The veteran actor has played the role of headmaster Albus Dumbledore in the hit films since the third instalment, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
But Gambon refuses to read the J.K. Rowling novels the franchise is based on - as he’s worried it would spoil the joy of acting out the scenes.
He says, "There’s no point reading the books because you’re playing with the screenwriter’s words. Besides, you’d get upset about all the scenes the script is missing from the book, wouldn’t you?"

HOLLYWOOD PROP HOUSE TO CLOSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:21 pm

One of Hollywood’s largest prop houses has fallen victim to the global economic downturn - the company is set to close and sell off its vast collection of celebrity memorabilia.
Bosses at 20th Century Props have announced the Los Angeles-based firm is to shut down at the end of July (09) after a slump in work.
The company boasts a massive collection of 93,000 items from films including Titanic and Cleopatra, classic TV shows, and even the music videos of Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Madonna.
Owner Harvey Schwartz admits he is devastated to lose his company - and blames the closure on a string of tax incentives which have lured moviemakers away from California.
He says, "I ran out of money about three months ago. The Hollywood business is leaving town and going to various other states. They are also offering really low prices on filming on the streets and filming permits, where California raised the prices last year.
"Then last November the economy took a nosedive and everybody cancelled their parties and events for the holidays.
"Hollywood is Hollywood and we’ll never lose that cachet, but Hollywood represents the past." The auction will run from 28 July (09) until 1 August (09) and will be followed by an online sale.

BLANKET: ‘IS DADDY ON HOLIDAY?’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

MICHAEL JACKSON’s youngest son PRINCE MICHAEL II aka BLANKET is still confused about where the late superstar is - the little boy thinks his dad is enjoying a holiday.
The King of Pop died after a cardiac arrest last month (Jun09), but his seven-year-old son is too young to understand that his father has passed away.
Jackson’s longterm friend, former child actor Mark Lester, was with Blanket during the star’s memorial service in Los Angeles’ Staples Center earlier this month (07Jul09) when he had to answer the heartbreaking question.
Lester says, "It is obvious to me that Blanket is still unsure about what exactly happened to his father. He said, ‘Where’s Daddy gone? On holiday?’ It was a rhetorical question and it broke my heart."
