NAS BANNED FROM WITNESSING KELIS GIVE BIRTH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:18 pm

Former hip-hop supercouple NAS and KELIS have become parents to a baby boy - but the rapper missed his son’s birth after he was banned from entering the delivery room.
The Milkshake hitmaker went into labour on Tuesday morning (21Jul09) and was admitted to a New York hospital, where she was met by her estranged husband.
But according to MTV.co.uk, which cites the rapper’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, Nas was refused access to Kelis’ bedside to witness the tot being born.
Kaplan had yet to respond to requests for a comment as WENN went to press.
However, Nas is refusing to let his differences with Kelis dampen his celebrations and he announced his happy news in a video posted online on Tuesday.
In the clip, Nas tells fans: "My son is (sic) born today, so shout-out to my son, Knight. That’s what I named the young God, Knight. Y’all heard it first." He also urged his followers not to read too much into the press reports about his impending divorce, adding: "Don’t believe nothing you hear in the media. I love y’all. Don’t listen to that bulls**t. I love y’all, that’s why I’m here." The former couple is in the midst of divorce proceedings and were due to appear in court on Tuesday to negotiate the financial terms of their marriage split. However, they were both excused by court officials in light of the baby’s birth.
The newborn is Nas’ second child - he also has a teenage daughter, named Destiny, from a previous relationship.

CIBRIAN’S MARITAL TROUBLES JUST A ‘SPEED BUMP’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:15 pm

Actor EDDIE CIBRIAN has played down his wife BRANDI GLANVILLE’s allegations they’ve split, insisting their marriage has simply hit a "speed bump".
The couple has been fighting off rumours of marriage trouble since Cibrian was caught on camera in an intimate embrace with his Northern Lights co-star LeAnn Rimes earlier this year (09).
Both actors denied cheating on their respective spouses, but on Tuesday (21Jul09), Glanville suggested there was more to Cibrian and Rimes’ relationship.
She told reporters, "Eddie and I have decided to take some time apart. I want to do what is best for our children. Eddie and LeAnn deserve each other." However, Cibrian is blaming the media for creating the controversy surrounding his marriage and insists he is working things out with Glanville.
His representative says in a statement, "Apparently the press wishes to continue to play out Eddie Cibrian’s domestic situation publicly with an unfair flair of tabloid fervour. Eddie is a devoted and loving father first and foremost and the speed bump he and Brandi are experiencing needs to be worked out privately for everyone’s benefit." Rimes and her husband, dancer Dean Sheremet, have kept out of the spotlight since the allegations first arose and have continually brushed off reports they are seeking a divorce.

ALLEN FURIOUS ABOUT MERCURY PRIZE SNUB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

British pop star LILY ALLEN is fuming after her new album failed to make the shortlist for the prestigious Mercury Prize - insisting the judges "hate" her.
The nominations for the coveted music award were announced on Tuesday (21Jul09), with stars including Florence and the Machine, La Roux, and The Horrors all competing for the honour, which is bestowed on the most groundbreaking and influential British album of the year.

She has taken to her Twitter.com page to complain about the snub, admitting she was "a bit sad" when the nominations came out, and has criticised the panel for excluding her.
She writes, "The judges hate me, but the people, dem (sic) love me. I hope La Roux wins."

BALDWIN SHOWS OFF BOXING SKILLS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:42 pm

ALEC BALDWIN gave American audiences a late night laugh when he showed off his boxing skills - impersonating 30 ROCK co-star TRACY MORGAN in a wacky match against comedian JIMMY FALLON.
The pair wore giant boxing gloves when they came to blows, but couldn’t stop laughing as Fallon imitated Robert De Niro during the sparring on his late night U.S. talk show on Tuesday (21Jul09).
A winner wasn’t called before Baldwin tore off his mits and threw Fallon over his shoulder.
But the 51-year-old actor made sure viewers knew he could still sting like a bee after revealing he had trained for years with championship boxers and their coaches.
He told viewers, "I used to (box), not anymore. When I was much younger… from 1988 to ‘93, ‘94. I had a trainer here in New York and in the gym where (Muhammad) Ali trained in Miami."

JACKSON PLANNED DIRECTORIAL DEBUT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:39 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON was preparing to make his debut as a moviemaker after signing up to co-direct and finance a drama about foster children just three months before his death, according to a new report.
The pop superstar passed away on 25 June (09), days before he was due to return to the stage with a 50-date live spectacular in London.
But he was also planning to move into Hollywood as a director, claims producer/filmmaker pal Bryan Michael Stoller.
Stoller alleges former child star Jackson had agreed to be his partner in the film company Magic Shadows and they were preparing to co-direct They Cage the Animals at Night, a project they had been working on for the last seven years.
Stoller claims the movie, based on a 1985 autobiography by author Jennings Michael Burch, was the brainchild of Jackson, who wanted to highlight the plight of foster kids because he felt he could relate to their circumstances.
He says, "Michael told me often he felt like he grew up as an orphan, like a foster kid, because he never was in one home. To him every hotel was like a different foster home. He said he used to sit in the window and see kids playing outside and cry because he couldn’t be part of that." But Jackson had no plans to step in front of the camera again, following his acting turn in The Wiz in 1978.
Stoller adds, "He was very excited about making movies and wanted his hands on everything, from working on screenplays to producing, to writing the music. However, he never showed any interest in acting." Stoller videotaped a series of meetings between Jackson and Burch and he now hopes to turn the collection of footage into a documentary to shed light on the Thriller singer’s life behind the walls of his Neverland Ranch, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

FUMING GALLAGHER CHALLENGED FAN TO FIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:36 pm

OASIS frontman LIAM GALLAGHER challenged a fan to a fight during a foul-mouthed bust-up which marred the band’s gig in London on Tuesday night (21Jul09).
As more details of the incident are revealed, it has emerged the singer launched into a rant against the mystery audience member even before the band started playing its set - after a coin was thrown at him as he took to the stage.
Throughout the entire concert, Gallagher repeatedly singled the man out for criticism, branding him a "s**tbag", a "f**king uni boy", and blasting, "Hope it’s f**king moody for ya. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys on crack." After changing the lyrics to several Oasis songs to berate the man further, Gallagher then fumed: "Here you are, student, if you want me offstage, don’t be throwing f*cking pound coins. Why don’t you try and come up here and f*cking make me come off? Alright d**khead." Gallagher eventually left the stage at the Roundhouse venue in north London for an estimated 30 minutes after his brother, guitarist Noel, told the crowd: "We’d like to do a slow number for you so we could all just calm down. Everybody just take a deep breath, pretend it’s not happening." Noel Gallagher later wrote about the incident in his online blog, telling fans: "Well that gig at The Roundhouse was… erm… very odd. What’siz’name (Liam) exploded with pretend rage the minute he walked on. Strange cat. Probably on his man period. …Mind you, those that were there seemed to enjoy it…"

HILL BOWS OUT OF STAND-UP COMEDY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:36 pm

Funnyman JONAH HILL has given up hope of a career in stand-up comedy - because his FUNNY PEOPLE co-star SETH ROGEN was much better at making live audiences laugh.
The pair made regular rounds at U.S. comedy clubs for six months to prepare for their roles in the upcoming film, opposite Adam Sandler.
And Hill admits his dreams of becoming a regular stand-up were crushed by watching Rogen’s comedy routine kill crowds with laughter while he got heckled on stage.
He says, "I never done stand-up comedy before… When they recognise you from a movie or something you get a free five minutes when they’re excited to see you. And then after that if you suck, you just suck, which I did. I would go with Seth a lot, who was really good because he did stand up a lot when he was younger. And I don’t think anything gives Seth Rogen more joy in the entire world - not the idea of love, or birds in the sky, or eternal happiness - more than him watching me tank on stage. He was the only laugh in the room at the time."

DIRECTORS QUIT FESTIVAL OVER KADEER FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

Two leading Chinese movie directors are boycotting the MELBOURNE FILM FESTIVAL in Australia in a bust-up over the screening of a documentary about exiled political activist REBIYA KADEER.
Jia Zhangke, director of the short film Cry Me A River, and Perfect Life director Emily Tang have withdrawn their work from the event.
Festival chief Richard Moore believes the move was in response to a decision to broadcast Jeff Daniels’ Ten Conditions of Love, which tells the story of political activist Kadeer, adding: "It’s hard to draw any other conclusion." Tang has also refused to take up an offer to attend the festival as a guest, and Chinese consular officials recently phoned Moore to discuss the screening of Ten Conditions of Love.
But Moore is determined to press ahead with the broadcast: "It makes me feel angry, annoyed and irritated all at the same time, that they would try to interfere with our programme for blatantly political ends." Kadeer, 62, is the leader of the World Uyghur Congress, representing the interests of Uyghur citizens in China. Officials blame her for inciting ethnic unrest in Xinjiang, and she spent six years in a Chinese prison before she was released into exile in the US in 2005. In 2004, she won the Rafto Prize for human rights.

NICHOLSON FACES OFF WITH BASEBALL MASCOT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

JACK NICHOLSON revived his villainous JOKER at a baseball game on Monday (20Jul09), spooking a mascot who donned a BATMAN costume to taunt him in front of fans.
Sports enthusiast Nicholson was spotted at the major league game between the Cubs and the Phillies at the Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The furry green Phillie Phanatic mascot refused to let the actor enjoy a peaceful day at the ballpark, playing Batman theme music in the stadium and putting on the Caped Crusader’s outfit to hop around in front of Nicholson between innings.
But the Hollywood legend, who played the evil Joker in 1989’s Batman, wasn’t about to be outdone - he wiggled his fingers at the mascot and mouthed the words, "Come on!", much to the delight of the 46,000 fans watching the scene unfold on jumbo screens overhead.

WOOD POSES NUDE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

Actress EVAN RACHEL WOOD has bared all in a provocative new photo spread for a U.S. magazine.
The Thirteen star, the on/off girlfriend of shock rocker Marilyn Manson, wears nothing but black nail varnish and a pout as she poses on her hands and knees for the August (09) issue of i-D Magazine.
The redhead is also depicted wearing lacy black underwear and thigh-high socks in the saucy snaps, taken by controversial photographer Terry Richardson.
Wood admits she was so excited to work with Richardson, famed for his sexually explicit shots, she let him tie her to a chair.
She says of the shoot, "You know what you’re going to get with Terry. But he makes you feel so comfortable. He was like, ‘OK, take off all your clothes,’ and I was like, ‘OK.’ "Then he tied me to a chair and pushed me over. I was like, ‘You know, I’ve only done this for three people - Manson, (Across The Universe director) Julie Taymor, and you, so feel special!’"

EVERETT SHUNS PALTROW FOR PRICE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

RUPERT EVERETT is no fan of GWYNETH PALTROW - he prefers former glamour model KATIE PRICE because she has "more integrity".
The British actor insists reality TV star Price - who has undergone several breast enlargement operations and built a topless modelling career under the moniker ‘Jordan’ - deserves respect for her honesty and efforts to raise her blind son Harvey.
But he has no time for Hollywood star Paltrow because her clean-living ways leave him cold.
He tells the U.K.’s Daily Mirror, "If I had the choice of being on a desert island with Jordan or Gwyneth Paltrow, I would choose Jordan. With Jordan you get the truth. She’s treated like a quasi-hooker, whereas Gwyneth is seen as the patron saint of good living. Which one has more integrity? I would much rather have Jordan any day."
