MILLER PLANS L.A. MOVE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:39 am

Actress SIENNA MILLER is hoping to quit her native Britain for a new life in Los Angeles - but can’t afford to move until she sells her London home.
The Alfie star currently owns two properties in the U.K. - one in the capital and one in the countryside - but she is hoping to offload her London residence and buy an house in L.A. so she can spend more time in the U.S.
But Miller’s plans have been hampered by the flailing British property market and has so far failed to find a buyer for her multi-million dollar London home.
She says, "I still love London, but I really love it in Los Angeles. I’d love to move (to L.A.) at some point. I just can’t afford it right now. Maybe if I get to do G.I. Joe 3, I’ll be able to afford a place, because doing plays on Broadway doesn’t really enable house-buying. Until I sell my place in London I can’t afford anywhere else. It would be useful to have a place in L.A. because I’m here so much."

L.A. AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATE PROMOTER OVER JACKSON MEMORIAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 am

Authorities in Los Angeles have launched an investigation into MICHAEL JACKSON’s memorial concert - amid accusations promoter AEG broke a promise to donate ticket profits to charity.
The tribute was held at the city’s Staples Center on 7 July (09) and featured performances from stars including Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder as the world grieved the loss of the King of Pop.
Promotion company AEG, the firm in charge of Jackson’s doomed comeback concerts in London, helped organise the memorial, and the majority of tickets were given away for free to Jackson’s family, friends and fans - with devotees from around the world allocated seats in an online ballot.
But some attendees were given the chance to buy their way into the event - with the company selling 18 suites at the Staples Center for $5,000 (£3,300). AEG executives allegedly promised to donate the proceeds to the LA Police Foundation, but celebrity website TMZ.com reports that the City Attorney’s office has been inundated with complaints that the money was never received.
A representative for AEG insists the company is still working out finances relating to the event, telling TMZ, "We have every intention of making this donation." AEG organisers behind Jackson’s memorial came under fire after the event from L.A. city chiefs who claimed the tribute cost the area $1.4 million (£934,000) to stage and urged the promoters to help cover the costs.

MCCARTNEY PLANS FINAL TOUR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 am

Former BEATLES star SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s next tour will be his last - the music legend is planning a series of massive gigs next year (10) to mark his retirement from the road.
The 67 year old icon is reportedly in negotiations to set up concerts across the globe, including China’s famous Tiananmen Square and Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, Germany - the famous crossing point of the Berlin Wall when the country was divided during the Cold War.
And the gigs will mark the end of McCartney’s touring career, according to British newspaper The Sun.
A source tells the publication, "Paul wants to go out with a bang. He’s played countless stadiums over his 50-year career and is on the hunt for the most unusual locations he can find. He realises that the older he gets, the less his body will be able to cope with the demands of extended periods on the road. He might play the odd benefit gig - but other than that he’ll be putting his feet up and enjoying retirement.
"The tour in 2010 is likely to last well over a year, by which time he will be almost 70." McCartney’s last global trek was 2003’s In The World Tour, he has since toured the U.S. and appeared at numerous music festivals, one-off shows and charity events.

EMINEM THREATENS CAREY IN SHOCKING NEW TRACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 am

Rapper EMINEM is determined to prove he once had a relationship with MARIAH CAREY - he has threatened to release intimate photos and voicemail tapes from their affair in a shocking new song.
The Stan hitmaker sparked a war of words with the superstar earlier this year (09) by hinting that he had slept with her in his track Bagpipes From Baghdad.
The controversial song upset Carey and her husband Nick Cannon, who publicly criticised the rapper for his crude lyrics.
Carey went onto call Eminem "delusional" in her latest single Obsessed and dressed up as man in the video, with her male alias bearing a striking resemblance to the star.
But Eminem has struck back, by releasing The Warning online.
The hip-hop star refers to Carey by name and threatens to expose their relationship in the press, claiming to have pictures of them together and taped phone calls she made to his house.
He raps, "Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me. Now I’m p**sed off. I’m obsessed now Oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee.
"B**ch, shut the f**ck up before I put all them phone calls out you made to my house. How many times you fly to my house? Still trying to count. Better shut your lying mouth if you don’t want Nick finding out. You probably think since it’s been so long if I had something on you I woulda (sic) did it by now. On the contrary, Mary Poppins, I’m mixing our studio session down and sending it to mastering to make it loud. Enough dirt on you to murder you. Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?" Eminem goes on to describe intimate details of their sexual exploits and dares the singer to deny the claims, "If I’m embarrassing me, I’m embarrassing you and don’t you dare say it isn’t true." He asks Carey to stop denying their past, or he will go through with his threat to expose her as a liar: "Call my bluff and I’ll release every f**king thing I got including the voicemails right before you flipped your top.
"It cuts like a (knife) when I tell ya (sic) get a (life). But I’m movin’ on with mine. Nick, is that your wife. Well tell her to shut her mouth then I’ll leave her alone. If she don’t then I’ma (sic) just keep goin’."

Funnyman JONAH HILL fears he has ruined his chances of ever getting close to his sporting hero after upsetting Los Angeles Lakers basketball coach PHIL JACKSON by changing seats at a game.
The Superbad star, a longtime Lakers fan, was at a recent game when the producers of comedy show Curb Your Enthusiasm asked to switch seats with him to shoot a scene.

Hill recalls, "I didn’t realise that’s not good etiquette during the middle of a basketball game.
"We switched and all of a sudden Phil Jackson, who has never looked in our direction, just gets up and turns to us and says, ‘Hey, this isn’t musical chairs. Next time you move around during a play-off (game), I’ll kick you the f**k outta here.’ "It was the most terrible feeling because I look up to this guy so much… It was like your dad telling you, like, ‘I don’t know how you came from me.’"

LINDSAY LOHAN has dismissed reports she owes a top Hollywood hotel $37,500 (£25,000) in unpaid bills, blaming a jilted former friend for spreading false rumours about her.

VICTORY FOR PROCOL HARUM STAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

PROCOL HARUM organist MATTHEW FISHER has won his long running legal fight for recognition as co-writer of the group’s 1967 megahit WHITER SHADE OF PALE.
The founding member of the 1960s rockers lost a legal battle against frontman Gary Brooker last year (08), after an appeals court handed the singer full royalty rights - overturning a 2006 ruling which gave Fisher a 40 per cent cut of the song’s profits.
Fisher argued he had written the song’s famous melody, and should be entitled to royalties as a result, but a British judge ruled Fisher’s 2006 case was invalid because it took him 38 years to bring the case to court.
The musician subsequently took his case to the U.K.’s highest court, the House of Lords, and, on Thursday (30Jul09), a panel of five judges ruled in his favour and reinstated the 2006 judgment.
Fisher is delighted with the verdict, but insists the legal battle was "never about money".
He says, "There will not be a lot of that (royalty money) anyway. But this was about making sure everyone knew about my part in the authorship. A win without money was never going to be recognised as a win at all." Fisher’s lawyer, Hugh Cuddigan, adds, "(The result) should reassure composers that their rights will be acknowledged and upheld by our courts." Whiter Shade of Pale spent six weeks at the top of the British charts in 1967 and reached number five in the U.S.

GOODREM & MCFADDEN IN SINISTER CYBER SQUABBLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:57 am

Pop star couple DELTA GOODREM and BRIAN MCFADDEN have called in security experts after receiving frightening Twitter.com texts from an alleged stalker.
The Aussie star and her Irish fiance are considering taking out a restraining order against the mystery man they reportedly claim is cyber-stalking them, and they’re not taking any chances.
The man, who calls himself Savior Mankind, has professed his love and "ownership" of Goodrem, weeks after telling her he had saved the world to be with her.
Goodrem’s publicist Jennifer Fontaine tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph the singer’s management team was dealing with the issue quietly in the hope it would not inflame the matter, and provoke the fan.
She says, "We’re very much aware of this matter but we’ve been advised to not make any comment at this time. We have security looking at it." The publication reports it is feared McFadden, an avid Twitter user, has unwittingly fuelled the exchange by responding to Savior Mankind.
The alleged cyber-stalker even wrote a threatening letter to McFadden, insisting he "leave Delta immediately," adding, "You are lucky we don’t have the death penalty in Australia." In a Twitter.com post earlier this week (beg27Jul09), the Irishman responded to Savior Mankind, telling him, "You are close to harm! I have your address and if something unfortunate happens to you I will be very sad! Be carefull (sic)."
