BOYZONE LAND RONSON COLLABORATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Reformed Irish boyband BOYZONE are ecstatic after landing their dream producer MARK RONSON to work on their next album.
The pop stars admitted in February (09) they were desperate to work with the Grammy Award winner, but feared he would turn them down as he is incredibly "picky" about the acts he works with.
But Ronson has agreed to head into the studio with the fivepiece - and now they’re hoping his golden touch will make their next CD a chart-topper.
Frontman Ronan Keating says, "I’m a big fan of Mark’s. We wanted to do something really different for this album. We’ve all grown up and we want to show that with a new sound. It will be colourful, bright and uplifting."

WASHINGTON STUFFED HIMSELF FOR PELHAM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

DENZEL WASHINGTON was delighted when movie bosses ordered him to fatten up for his latest movie role - because he thoroughly enjoyed stuffing his face with junk food.
The actor appears in The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, alongside John Travolta, playing an overweight character - and the slim star had to gain a staggering 40 pounds (18 kilograms).
He says, "Getting there was such fun. Milkshakes, hamburgers… middle of the night a little Haagen Daz (ice cream). Anything I wanted just eat, eat, eat." The Malcolm X star returned to his toned physique after shooting the film, but admits his wife quite enjoyed his fuller figure.
He says, "She was OK with it, I think every wife wants their husband to be plump and fatten them up. She doesn’t eat, she cooks all this food for me, but she doesn’t it eat."

BOB GELDOF RESCUED PEACHES FROM TROUBLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

PEACHES GELDOF has thanker her rocker dad BOB for saving her from her wildchild past - because he was always there to help when she landed in trouble.
Socialite Peaches has been at the centre of a string of scandals, including an accusation of shoplifting and a whirlwind, six-month marriage to rocker Max Drummey.
Now she has let slip a list of further outrages in her past - including running over a pal’s cat while illegally riding a quad bike, almost getting thrown out of school, and ending up stranded in northern England after attending a drug-fuelled rave party.
And each time she called on the only person she knew would help - her dad, former Boomtown Rats frontman Bob.
She writes in the London Evening Standard magazine, "The worst thing in the world is losing contact with your family. You never realise how much you depend on them until things get bad. At those moments they’re the only people who will definitely help; the last number you want to dial but the only one you know will come.
"’Dad, I know it’s 5am but I’m stuck in Middlesbrough in a field and the rave’s ended and my mates have gone. Can you come get me?’ ‘Please speak to the headmistress so I don’t get expelled.’ ‘I need £500 for a plane ticket to Arizona. No, I can’t tell you why, I just really need it.’ ‘I ran over Alice’s cat while illegally driving her brother’s quad bike. It needs a vet, please help.’ "All of these calls have been made by me and met with shouting but, in the end, help arrived - in my case in the form of a disgruntled Irishman in a crumpled linen suit."

POTTER FILM KEEPS CATHEDRAL IN BUSINESS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

Keepers of a British cathedral featured in the HARRY POTTER movie franchise have praised film-makers for reviving public interest in the ancient building.
Executives at Warner Bros. Studios paid up to $15,000 (£10,000) a day to use Gloucester Cathedral in England as the backdrop for the Hogwarts school in scenes for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The historic site was also used in the previous five films, attracting wizard fans from all over the world - and workers at the cathedral are grateful for the extra revenue and visitors.
Cathedral operations manager Bairbre Lloyd says, "It’s been absolutely wonderful having the filming here. The Cathedral costs £5,000 a day to run, that’s paying musicians, and keeping the building open.
"In terms of filming, without that revenue, we have to raise money from other sources. It’s a fabulous resource and a great income stream to have…
"With the first two films, we had around 50,000 extra visitors, so it’s been really good for us."

BECKHAM FINED FOR LOSING HIS COOL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:54 am

Soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM has been fined $1,000 (£665) by Major League Soccer (MLS) officials for confronting an unruly Los Angeles Galaxy fan during a heated match last weekend.
The British sports star returned to play for L.A. Galaxy earlier this month (Jul09) after a brief spell on loan to Italian side AC Milan.
But a section of the crowd were determined to make it clear they were unhappy at rumours Beckham is planning to quit the club for good and booed him throughout last Sunday’s (19Jul09) game - ironically against AC Milan.
One man even evaded security to taunt Beckham from the side of the pitch - prompting the star to run up to the barrier and challenge him.
Beckham had to be restrained by L.A. Galaxy officials as the fan was removed from the grounds and the star later claimed he simply wanted to shake the man’s hand to get him to calm down.
But MLS executives have failed to see the incident from Beckham’s point of view and have slapped him with a hefty fine for losing control.

RIMES ‘SEPARATED FROM HUSBAND FOR MONTHS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

LEANN RIMES and her husband DEAN SHEREMET have been living apart as they attempt to salvage their marriage, according to a new report.
The Blue singer/actress’ marriage has been under intense scrutiny for months after she was caught on camera kissing her Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian during an intimate night out in Los Angeles earlier this year (09).
The stars both denied cheating on their respective spouses, but on Tuesday (21Jul09) Cibrian’s wife Brandi Glanville revealed she was taking some time apart from her husband - and suggested there was more to Cibrian and Rimes’ relationship than they had admitted.
Cibrian downplayed Glanville’s revelations just a day later, insisting their marriage had simply hit a "speed bump".
Rimes and dancer Sheremet have repeatedly denied they are seeking a divorce, but the star sparked fresh rumours of a split on Thursday (23Jul09) when she was photographed out in L.A. without her wedding ring.
Now a close friend of Rimes has come forward to reveal the couple, which wed in 2002, has been separated for a while.
The source tells People.com, "Le and Dean have been separated for quite some time now, but they’re continuing to try and work through their relationship."
