French President NICOLAS SARKOZY has been released from hospital after he collapsed while jogging on Sunday (26Jul09).
The 54 year old, who is married to former model/singer Carla Bruni, was kept under the observation by medics at the Val-de-Grace military hospital in Paris after he fell ill during his daily run in the park of Versailles Palace.
He was subsequently released on Monday (27Jul09), with a representative blaming the heat and being overworked for his condition.
Sarkozy underwent routine heart and blood tests during his hospital stay. He previously battled heart condition angina in 2007.

FIELDER-CIVIL: ‘WINEHOUSE NEARLY DIED OF DRUG OVERDOSE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

AMY WINEHOUSE’s ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL has opened up about the night the singer almost died of a drugs overdose - insisting the star came close to death following a three day heroin binge.
The Back to Black hitmaker was rushed to hospital in London in August 2007 to have her stomach pumped after ingesting a lethal cocktail of illegal substances.
Fielder-Civil, whose divorce from the singer was finalised earlier this month (Jul09), was with his former partner at the time and admits they had taken "heroin and crack" before she suffered a fit and stopped breathing in their hotel room.
The 27 year old reveals he was terrified his lover would die and managed to save her life by clearing her airway and blowing air back into her lungs.
He says, "We were sitting on the bed talking. Her eyes went blank. She started having a fit on the bed. She slid down onto the floor before I could stop her. I was panicking, I didn’t know how to help her. I was out of it on drugs as well. I knew it was important to stop her choking so I turned her over onto her side, putting her in the recovery position. Then I pulled her tongue out of her mouth so she wouldn’t bite it. She had an awful look on her face, just pale and frightened.
"I thought she was dying in my arms. She kept on fitting, but then suddenly she passed out and stopped breathing. I felt sure I was watching her die right in front of me. Somehow I managed to open her mouth and breathe down her throat. Then she spluttered and I saw her chest rise. I was still sobbing and panicking but I just felt this huge relief she was alive." Fielder-Civil admits the night his wife was taken to hospital was not the first time she had suffered a seizure - the Grammy Award winner began experiencing "mini-fits" during their drug-taking, but she insisted on carrying on.
He adds, "She had everything going for her. But she ended up behaving badly just to shock. I’d warned her to stop but she always wanted to keep on taking drugs. All that talent and personality - and she hid them behind drink and drugs.
"I think having seizures and just carrying on - that is pretty shocking, pretty hardcore behaviour. It’s not something I would be able to do."

JACKSON PORTRAITS REVEALED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

A series of MICHAEL JACKSON’s private drawings have been been made public for the first time.
A collection of pictures, sketched by the star in 1985, have been published in U.K. newspaper The Sun.
The artworks, which Jackson handed to his plastic surgeon friend Dr. Steve Hoefflin, feature a signed self-portrait and a drawing of the star as a child.
The pictures also include a picture of the Thriller hitmaker’s famous white glove.
Hoefflin, who plans to turn the sketches into a picture book, tells the tabloid, "One of the many things people don’t know about Michael Jackson is that he loved to draw. He gained incredible self-confidence in the 1980s when he lived with me and we would spend hours painting together. As a gift, he drew countless pictures of himself as a young boy and of the man he hoped he would grow up to be."

GELLER INTERVIEWED JACKSON ABOUT CHILD ABUSE UNDER HYPNOSIS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

Psychic URI GELLER once interviewed MICHAEL JACKSON under hypnosis to find out whether the superstar was innocent of the child sex allegations which rocked the last few years of his life.
Spoon-bending performer Geller - who was pals with Jackson throughout the 1990s - offered to put the pop superstar in a trance to help improve his eating habits.
But Geller secretly used the opportunity to probe the star about Jordy Chandler - the boy Jackson was accused of molesting in the 1993.
Chandler received a multi-million dollar out of court settlement from the star and Geller was determined to find out whether the pay-off was an admission of his friend’s guilt.
He explains, "(Michael) said to me suddenly, ‘This mind power that you have - can you send it to me? Can I feel it? Is there some food I can eat - I don’t want to eat junk food - can you make me healthy?’ "And I said to him, ‘Will you allow me to hypnotise you?’ and he said, ‘Yes! Wow! Can you really hypnotise me?’ "So I put him into a trance and I confronted him under hypnosis - I asked him, ‘Michael, did you ever touch a child in an inappropriate manner?’ And Michael answered immediately, ‘No I would never do that.’ "So I asked him, ‘Why did you pay off Jordy Chander?’ and he said, ‘I had enough - I couldn’t take it any more.’ "I pulled him out of the trance - he never knew this - but to me this was a private validation that this poor man is innocent." Jackson was accused of child molestation again in 2003 in relation to 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo. He was cleared of all charges at his 2005 trial.

FIELDER-CIVIL BLAMES WINEHOUSE FOR WRECKING BOND THEME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

AMY WINEHOUSE’s ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL has blamed the troubled singer’s excessive drink and drug-taking for wrecking her chance to record the latest JAMES BOND theme tune - insisting she "messed it all up".
The Back to Black hitmaker teamed up with superproducer Mark Ronson to record a track for last year’s (08) Quantum of Solace.
But the collaboration was dropped, with Ronson insisting the singer was not ready to get back to work in the studio.
Bond bosses were forced to scrap plans to feature Winehouse - opting instead for a duet with Jack White and Alicia Keys.
And Fielder-Civil reveals a massive drink and drugs binge ruined the star’s chances of recording the coveted song.
He says, "It just turned into an excuse for a wild drink and drugs party. She wasn’t concentrating on work.
"She told me she was writing a song about me and her, and our relationship. How cool is that? To think, in 30 or 40 years people would be watching this film and still hearing the song about us. That was really amazing. But she messed it all up." Winehouse and Fielder-Civil were granted a divorce earlier this month (Jul09) after two years of marriage.

CALENDAR GIRLS HEAD TO DUBAI

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

JERRY HALL is preparing to pack her bags for the United Arab Emirates - producers of the star’s CALENDAR GIRLS stage musical are considering an offer to move the show to Dubai.
Mick Jagger’s ex-wife strips off for a role in the theatre production in London’s West End, which is based on the hit 2003 film.
And the model/actress could soon be shedding her clothes in sunnier climes, if theatre bosses agree to take the show abroad.
Producer David Pugh explains, "It’s a little bit surreal. We have had two approaches to take this show to the Arab Emirates and to Dubai. They want us to play in the big hotels out there." But the musical’s racier scenes could cause a problem in the strict Muslim country - as could the lack of British cakes, which feature heavily in the film and theatre production.
Pugh adds, "I don’t know how we would do it with the nudity due to the strict dress codes out there. It might well require extra costumes. And how we will source (cakes) Victoria sponges and Bakewell tarts in the desert, I don’t know."

KID CUDI LANDS TV SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

Rapper KID CUDI is launching an acting career - the hip-hip star is teaming up with MARK WAHLBERG for a new TV show.
The Day ‘N Nite star has signed up to appear in U.S. series How To Make It In America, a new comedy which will be produced by Wahlberg and the team behind his hit show Entourage.
Cudi admits he has always wanted to try acting, but insists he will not be giving up his music any time soon.
He says, "It’s directed by Julian Farino, who also did Sex And The City, several episodes of that and The Sopranos, and Entourage. I have a lead role. My character’s name is Domingo Dean. I actually named my character after both of my brothers - Dean, who lives in Phoenix, being one of them, and Domingo.
"It has no reference to my music. It was important to me early on to branch away from music and actually do something outside my comfort zone. When we were developing my character with the writers, I was telling them, ‘Man, I don’t want to be anything that has to do with music,’ just because that’s not really acting."

DANNER URGED PALTROW TO AVOID ACTING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

GWYNETH PALTROW’s mother BLYTHE DANNER urged her daughter not follow her into acting - because she wanted her offspring to embark on a more intellectual profession.
Danner has enjoyed her own long and prosperous acting career and Paltrow’s later father Bruce was a successful film director.
But Danner admits she and her husband always hoped their bright daughter would become a doctor or a lawyer - and tried to discourage her from entering showbusiness.
But the couple gave in and allowed Paltrow to become a thespian when they saw her act.
She tells Fox news, "She’s so smart we wanted her to find a cure for AIDS or something. We were pretty firm about her finishing her education but when we saw how talented she was we finally said okay."

LEWIS HYPNOTISED OVER TOUR NERVES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

British singer LEONA LEWIS has reportedly turned to a hypnotist to help battle her fears over performing live.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker allegedly suffers from crippling stage fright and is said to be undergoing a series of therapy sessions in a bid to overcome her worries ahead of a planned world tour.
The singer is set to kick-off a string of massive gigs next summer (10) and hopes the sessions will help prepare her for the challenge of singing to such large audiences night-after-night, according to British newspaper The Sun.
A source tells the publication, "Seeing as Leona is on the path to becoming a global touring powerhouse, no corners will be cut.
"She already has bags more poise and confidence than she used to but she’s a natural born worrier.
"(Her) bosses want to make sure her performance is as perfect and polished as an artist who has been around for years."

COWELL’S SURPRISE 50TH BIRTHDAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

TV music mogul SIMON COWELL was treated to a surprise 50th birthday party this weekend (25-26Jul09) - three months before he is due to celebrate the milestone age.
The American Idol judge arrived at what he thought was a bash to mark his ex-girlfriend Jackie St Claire’s birthday at a venue in London on Saturday night (25Jul09).
But Cowell was shocked to discover all his friends waiting to surprise him with an early celebration of his 50th - brought forward because he will be too busy filming British TV talent show X Factor to celebrate properly in October (09).
The star was joined by his fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson, as well as his X Factor colleagues Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh - who all joined forces to serenade the birthday boy with a rendition of Carly Simon hit You’re So Vain.
Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent co-star Piers Morgan also attended the event, which was organised by St Claire.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, "Jackie went to extraordinary lengths to organise the bash for Simon. She even told the guys performing they were singing for her - but it turned out they were there for Simon.
“She knew the performance would really make him laugh. Dannii took the lead vocals and the others came out providing the comedy for the show. Jackie knew Simon would find it hysterically funny – especially when Louis joined in the singing.
“Simon is so vain but, unlike some, he is the first to admit it. So it was the perfect joke.” While Cowell himself adds, "It was a fun night. I went on my own, well with my mum, and had no say over the guest list. But it was all fine." The TV mogul will turn 50 on 7 October (09).

ARCTIC MONKEYS SLAM ‘CHEAPENED’ IVOR NOVELLOS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:39 am

British rockers the ARCTIC MONKEYS have criticised the bosses of the U.K.’s prestigious Ivor Novello awards for handing a trophy to pop duo THE TING TINGS - because the move "cheapened" the coveted prize.
The I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor hitmakers picked up one of the songwriting honours in 2007 for their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.
But drummer Matt Helders admits that since The Ting Tings won the same award at this year’s (09) ceremony, they have had less respect for the awards.
He explains,"The Ivor Novello awards used to feel like the most meaningful ones but I think they’ve been cheapened.
"I don’t want to be horrible to The Ting Tings, but they won it and it’s supposed to be for songwriting.
"There’s a lot better songwriting ability out there."

He flashed a giant picture of Estemirova up on the big screens behind him and dedicated his track Biko to her.
The song was written about South African anti-apartheid activist Steve Biko who died in police custody in the 1970s.

FERRARA’S SPOOKY SET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:36 am

Director ABEL FERRARA had a spooky time shooting a new documentary about New York’s iconic Chelsea Hotel, and he’s convinced the building is haunted by its famous former inhabitants.
The hotel has long links with the city’s artistic community and longterm residents have included Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Dylan Thomas and Sid Vicious.
Vicious was arrested for murdering his girlfriend Nancy Spungen in the Chelsea in 1978 - he died before he could face trial - and poet Thomas died from alcohol poisoning in his room there in 1953.
The hotel’s history inspired Ferrara to capture it on film in Chelsea on the Rocks, which includes archive footage from the 1960s and 70s, and accuses the building’s current owners of destroying its rich heritage.
He has spent months in the Manhattan building shooting the documentary and claims he encountered a host of spirits.
Ferrara says, "It’s definitely haunted. We were five months making this movie, and we could feel the spirits all the time. They were all over the place."

Model RACHEL HUNTER is planning to leave Los Angeles and move back to her native New Zealand to deal with the shock of her broken engagement.

On the recent encounter, he says, "They just kept walking towards me, waving and saying, ‘We’ve come on the bus. We are from Monaco. Hello Richard.’ "They had gone past six ‘do not enter’ signs. They were the ladies’ garden tour from Monaco and they wanted pictures."

JACKSON DREAMED OF NEVERLAND II

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

MICHAEL JACKSON was planning to move into a Neverland-style mansion in Las Vegas before his sudden death last month (Jun09).
A Sin City realtor claims the King of Pop fell in love with the $25 million (£16.7 million) 10 bedroom estate when he first viewed it in 2007.
Zar Zanganeh tells the New York Post the pad had underground tunnels, stables and hidden play areas that Jackson considered ideal for his three children.
He says, "He loved it. He said he could do anything he wanted in there, like in Neverland." Jackson abandoned his Neverland ranch in California after cops raided it in 2003, following his arrest on child molestation charges.
Zangageh claims he hoped to turn the Nevada house into a new version, dubbed Wonderland, but couldn’t afford the huge price tag.
The Post reports he "hoped to make enough money from his ill-fated This is It farewell tour to foot the bill for the massive spread, but he didn’t live to see his dream play out."
