The original artwork for the JACKSON 5’s VICTORY album is to be auctioned off in October (09).
The Michael Whelan piece, which was unveiled for the first time at the Comic-Con event in San Diego, California at the weekend (24-26Jul09), will go under the hammer at the same Profiles in History sale which will feature one of Michael Jackson’s famous illuminating white gloves.
Dubbed "the single most historic piece of Michael Jackson album art", Whelan’s cover art, which Michael Jackson commissioned him to paint in 1984, is expected to fetch up to $60,000 (GBP40,000) in California on 1 and 2 October.
Whelan insists the time is perfect for him to auction the original cover art piece: "My experience with Michael and the other Jackson brothers, while admittedly brief, was different from what I’ve been reading in the papers or seeing on TV broadcasts.
"My recollection of Michael was as an articulate, considerate, soft spoken man, generous with his time and his compliments. His music has the power to unite us in sound, and I was fortunate to have had a part in the Victory album.
"I’ve held onto the painting he commissioned from me as a memento of those days, and for many years it has been hanging over the doorway to my studio. Now, I feel, itâ��s time for me to share it." The Victory album cover artwork depicts Michael Jackson wearing his iconic white glove.
The upcoming Profiles in History Hollywood auction, which will feature the artwork and the glove, will also include the Cowardly Lion costume from The Wizard of Oz, a full-scale model T-800 Endoskeleton from Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Harrison Ford�s hero blaster from Blade Runner.

TITO JACKSON has ended the speculation surrounding his late brother’s current resting place, confirming the King of Pop’s casket is still at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills.
Tito and the Jackson family staged a private ceremony at the funeral home before a casket said to contain Michael’s remains was transported to the Staples Center memorial on 7 July (09).
Mystery has revolved around the location of the casket ever since it disappeared after the public tribute show.
With a final resting place still to be determined, Tito Jackson reveals, "He’s (Michael) at Forest Lawn." Jackson family members and fans believe the King of Pop should be buried at his former Neverland Ranch home in California.

Actress MALIN AKERMAN was subjected to ridicule by her husband when she had to shave off her eyebrows for new movie HAPPYTHANKYOUMOREPLEASE.
The Watchmen star, who wed Italian musician Roberto Zincone in 2007, donned a bald cap and took a razor to her eyebrows to portray a woman with hair loss condition alopecia in director Josh Radnor’s film.
But Swedish beauty Akerman admits her husband wasn’t as sympathetic to her movie look as she thought he’d be - and compared her to Steven Spielberg’s famous alien character instead.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I wear a bald cap for the role, too. I sent the picture to my husband and he was like, ‘E.T. - come home!’"

TWILIGHT star ASHLEY GREENE’s ex-boyfriend has missed out on a vampire role in the movie franchise’s third film.
Former Desperate Housewives star Josh Henderson has confirmed he auditioned for the role of Riley in Eclipse, but lost out to newcomer Xavier Samuel.
And he admits his ex fought for him to get the role: "I talked to Ashley about potentially being the new, college, all-American character that’s a vampire in the third one. I went for a few auditions, but they went with an Australian kid."

WILL FERRELL is close to sealing a deal to revive his comedy newsreader character RON BURGUNDY in a sequel to his hit 2004 ANCHORMAN movie.
The funnyman is desperate to film a follow-up to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and admits he has been in talks with movie bosses to bring the character back for a second run.
And Ferrell is convinced he is close to getting a green light for the project.
He says, "The odds are good. We’re going to talk to all the guys next week - Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd and everybody else - to see if it’s feasible to do it, because everybody’s at different places right now, with totally different schedules.
"Hopefully we can start filming in a couple of years."

Reality TV star KIM KARDASHIAN has taken to the internet to quash rumours she can’t have children - slamming online gossips for "twisting" her words.
Kardashian’s fertility has been at the centre of speculation over the last week after she gave an interview to People.com, admitting she would love to adopt.
But the socialite insists subsequent reports claiming she is not able to have her own kids are "totally false".
She writes on her official website, "It’s been reported online that I canâ��t have children of my own and thatâ��s totally false. I said I would love to have my own children. If I werenâ��t able to then adopting might be an option. How does that translate into I cannot have kids!? If you read anything online saying I can’t have children, those are totally false stories. Some media outlets are just taking what I said to People.com and twisting it!"

British actor JAMES PUREFOY has opened up about a movie set accident which nearly cost him his life - he was stabbed in the head during a fight scene.
The 45 year old was filming action epic Solomon Kane in Prague, Czech Republic, last year (08) when a fight scene went badly wrong.
The Rome star was hit in the head by a stuntman wielding a sword and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Purefoy explains, "This seven foot Czech stuntman came at me with his sword but I ducked too late and he caught me." Director Michael J. Bassett admits the incident left him fearing the worst for his star.
He adds, "James went down like a sack of spuds (potatoes). There was blood all over his face, and I thought, ‘Is he OK?’" Bassett was relieved when the actor was discharged by medics, having just suffered a minor injury - but the accidents onset continued with Purefoy on the end of the second stunt which went awry.
He explains, "(Purefoy) got his own back on his return, accidentally stabbing an extra just below the eye."

A premature birth has held up production on REESE WITHERSPOON and JACK NICHOLSON’s new movie.
The two stars are currently working on baseball picture How Do You Know but the shoot has been halted after Kathryn Hahn, who plays a pregnant secretary, went into labour during filming on Saturday (25Jul09).
The actress, who was not due to give birth until September (09), welcomed baby Mae on Monday (27Jul09).
Producers are now reportedly considering hiring another actress to reshoot all of Hahn’s scenes in a bid to keep the movie on schedule, according to RadarOnline.com.

Footage of a nervous MICHAEL JACKSON biting his nails and mumbling lines during the filming of movie flop MISS CAST AWAY has been shown for the first time as U.S. TV programmes continue to chase for candid moments of the late King of Pop a month after his death.
The pop star appears dazed and confused as he struggles with his lines for a scene, which was shot at his Neverland Ranch home in California in 2003.
The footage was presented to news show The Insider by Bryan Michael Stoller, the director of the movie.
He insists Jackson appears to slur his words and struggle with his lines because he wasn’t "sleeping well" at the time.
The King of Pop reportedly died from an overdose of an anaesthetic he took to help him sleep.
Jackson is seen fiddling with sunglasses and his hair as he tries to act out the scene, and a hospital name tag bracelet can clearly be seen wrapped around his wrist.
Stoller explains, "I didn’t know whether that was one of his signature things."

R&B superstar RIHANNA has dismissed rumours of a reunion with ex-boyfriend CHRIS BROWN - insisting she checked into the same hotel as her former lover by "coincidence." Internet gossips were sent into a spin on Sunday (26Jul09) after the New York Daily News reported the singers had both booked rooms at a Manhattan hotel.
The pair split earlier this year (09) after Brown was arrested and charged with beating the Bajan beauty during a fight in February (09).
Last month (Jun09) he was sentenced to a harsh community service order and five years’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to the attack.
Brown was ordered to stay away from the Umbrella hitmaker at the sentencing - but the former couple prompted rumours of a reconciliation when they both asked for the restraining order to be lifted.
And speculation about a possible reunion was fuelled by reports they had both booked into the Trump International Hotel & Tower in the Big Apple on Friday (24Jul09) and spent the weekend (25-26Jul09) there.
But a representative for Rihanna has dismissed the rumours - insisting the former lovers were not there together.
The spokesperson tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "This was a coincidence. She�s stayed there before, as have thousands of other people.�

GEORGE CLOONEY is back on the dating scene - the Hollywood actor has been linked to an Italian TV presenter after they were photographed together in Rome.

JOHN TRAVOLTA has dismissed rumours he has abandoned his Scientology beliefs following the tragic death of his son - insisting he remains dedicated to the faith.
The Hollywood star and his wife Kelly Preston have long been prominent members of the Scientology community - but Travolta was rumoured to have lost faith in the sci-fi religion after his 16-year-old son Jett died suddenly in January (09) after suffering a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas.
A representative for the star has slammed claims Travolta has distanced himself from the religion following the tragedy - calling the reports "totally false." Rockers GREEN DAY are adding a touch of class to their new U.S. tour - they have commissioned an art collection to go on the road with them.
The band has teamed up with artist pal Lorgan Hicks to choose paintings which fans and painters have created to accompany each track on their current album 21st Century Breakdown.
The artworks will travel America with Green Day and fans will be able to check them out at shows.
Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explains, "We are really excited to be touring with this incredible show. Seeing the pieces that our new album has inspired is very exciting.

Actor JESSE METCALFE is returning to Wisteria Lane - he’s reportedly signed up to reprise his role on hit TV show DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.
The star landed the role of hunky gardener John Rowland when the series debuted in 2004, but has only made one-off appearances in the last three seasons.
However, reports suggest Metcalfe is set to steam up the small screen with a more high-profile role in the upcoming sixth series.
A source tells OKmagazine.com, "He’ll be on for six to eight episodes, with the possibility of coming back full time. He’ll have a lot of shirtless scenes." The latest season is due to air on U.S. TV in September (09).

MICHAEL JACKSON’s doctor, CONRAD MURRAY, administered the drug which killed him, according to sources close to the investigation surrounding the King of Pop’s death.
A law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation has told the Associated Press that Jackson regularly received the anaesthetic Propofol in an effort to sleep, adding Dr. Murray administered the powerful drug on the last night of the 50-year-old’s life (24Jun09).
Murray was with Jackson when he died on 25 June and the doctor reportedly administered CPR on the star before the paramedics were called to the King of Pop’s Hollywood mansion.
Last week (ends24Jul09), Murray was identified as the target of a manslaughter investigation in court records.
According to the warrant filed as police raided a storage facility owned by Murray in Houston, Texas, the authorities were looking for "items constituting evidence of the offence of manslaughter." Despite the new reports, Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, insists his client did not prescribe or administer anything that could have killed Jackson.
Chernoff maintains Murray was "the last doctor standing when Michael Jackson died and it seems all the fury is directed toward him. Dr. Murray is frustrated by negative and often erroneous media reports, he has to walk around 24-7 with a bodyguard. He can’t operate his practice. He canâ��t go to work because he is harassed no matter where he goes." Meanwhile, in more potential damning information, Jackson’s former surgeon Steven Hoefflin insists he has "firm evidence" that the pop superstar was "probably dead for three hours" before his arrival at hospital.
Hoefflin claims he has seen the Jackson family’s toxicology report, which has yet to be released - and the future does not look good for the doctors who were close to Jackson at the time of his death.
He says, "The Jacksons are going to sue all these people and they’re going to go to jail." Calling into U.S. radio host Billy Bush’s show on Monday (27Jul09), Hoefflin states the evidence is piling up against Dr. Murray.
He explained, "We have videotaping of evidence being taken out of the home, drug evidence that was taken by somebody out of Michael’s home and dumped in trash cans."
