ESTELLE DENIES RIHANNA TWITTER ATTACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

Brit soul artist ESTELLE has blasted a U.K. tabloid over a report suggesting she is embroiled in an online war with RIHANNA - insisting she never made the comments.
Britain’s The Sun newspaper alleged the American Boy singer took to her Twitter.com page to comment on the latest collaboration between Jay-Z and his protegee Rihanna, entitled Run This Town.
The publication reported that Estelle had claimed she could have sung the chorus better, and allegedly wrote on her blog, "Rihanna just doesn’t do it for me.” But the star has released a statement insisting the comment was made by one of her followers on the micro-blogging site.
She tells MTV.co.uk, “Twitter is a funny old thing. I just need to be clear though. I have not said anything at all about me wanting to be on the Jay Z / Kanye / Rihanna track.
“Someone else twittered that remark to me and one of the U.K. tabloids then chose to ‘rewrite’ this and post it online… Watching this unfold, it is crazy that something that I didn’t even say can end up as such a big news story.”

RIHANNA’S KARAOKE NIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

R&B star RIHANNA stunned party-goers in New York on Saturday night (25Jul09) with a surprise performance - taking to the stage at a karaoke bar.
The Umbrella hitmaker was enjoying an evening out with friends at Manhattan’s Shanghai Square when they decided to hit the venue’s ‘Karaoke Cave’.
And the crowd was delighted when the star took the mic and spent several hours belting out her favourite tunes.
An onlooker tells RadarOnline.com, “She came with about six friends and joined about eight more friends who were already there. She didn’t want to be in a private room - she was in the main lounge with everyone else.
"Rihanna sang along for about 10 songs. She requested Misery Business by Paramore and Bust Your Windows by Jazmine Sullivan. She also sang along with friends to Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. Anytime anyone wanted to request a Rihanna song she said no! "There are three mics in the lounge and Rihanna was holding one of them and singing with everyone during the songs. She was very gracious to everyone.”

JACKSON FANS IN NOBEL PEACE PRIZE BID

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s fans have launched a campaign to land the late superstar a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
Websites have been bombarded by Jackson followers who are signing petitions to support the campaign because they feel he should be honoured for his "lifelong dedication to the well being of humanity".
More than 2,000 people have added their names to the list, which was started by a Los Angeles student who wants 100,000 to sign up.
In order for the King of Pop, who died from a cardiac arrest last month (25Jun09), to receive a nomination for the coveted award his name must be suggested by a Nobel Prize official - not members of the public.
But fans are refusing to be put off - and have until September (09) to convince organisers to accept a nomination for Thriller hitmaker.
The winner will be announced in October next year (10).

JACKSON ‘TRICKED’ OUT OF INSURANCE MONEY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s children may lose out on a massive life insurance payout amid rumours an aide failed to keep up the payments.
Cosmetic surgeon Dr Steven Hoefflin, a close friend of the late superstar, claims the singer entrusted his regular life insurance payments to a member of his entourage.
But Hoefflin alleges the unnamed employee failed to pay the regular premiums - "pocketing" the cash in a con which may cost the Jackson family up to $20 million (£13.3 million).
He says, "The family have told me that, utterly unbelievably and horrifyingly, one of his aides did not keep up the payments in the last months of his life. They believe this person was pocketing the money. The family are furious and they are now seeking a lawsuit against the person believed responsible. It is incredible, and just stands as further proof of the levels of deception and incompetence of the sharks that surrounded Michael." Hoefflin claims he made sure the star - who is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest brought on by an overdose of prescription medication - was completely drug-free in 2002 to ensure he qualified for the maximum possible life insurance policy.
He adds, "This was hugely important to him - it was money for his children."

He is so intent on embarking on a career as a director, he even persuaded Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ producer David Barron to let him helm one of the film’s scenes.
A source tells the publication, "Daniel has told friends he is looking for a project to direct when he finally waves goodbye to Hogwarts. He has been approached by a number of producers.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:24 pm

DAVID TENNANT’s tenure as DOCTOR WHO could extend into 2013 - the actor is refusing to rule out a comeback to the sci-fi series.
Tennant announced in October (08) he would be stepping down from the role after three years as the time traveller, passing the baton to newcomer Matt Smith for the next season of the cult British show, scheduled to air next year (10).
But Tennant is hoping to maintain his ties to the programme a while longer, admitting he could be tempted to film a one-off comeback appearance as the Time Lord.
During an appearance at the Comic-Con event in San Diego, California at the weekend (24-26Jul09), Tennant was asked if he would consider another Doctor Who stint.
He replied. "No one knows. But 2013 is the show’s 50th anniversary, isn’t it?" The Scottish star will appear in three Doctor Who specials later this year (09) before Smith takes over in his place.

CONRAD HOPES FOR L.A. CANDY FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:21 pm

Reality TV star LAUREN CONRAD is set to conquer the big screen - she’s adapting her bestselling book L.A. CANDY into a film.
The Hills star released her debut novel in June (09) and has since topped the New York Times Best Seller list for Children’s Chapter Books.
And now the 23 year old is hoping to make a movie out of the hit semi-autobiographical novel, about a teen girl who moves to Los Angeles and lands her own reality TV show.
Conrad tells the New York Daily News, "We’re hoping for a movie deal. I’m working on (adapting the book) right now, but I don’t want to commit to anything until I see all my options. We have had a lot of exciting news in that respect, though." And the socialite is expanding the L.A. Candy chronicles even further by putting pen to paper to write a sequel to her first novel.
She adds, "I actually finished the first draft - I’m doing edits right now. It picks up where the first left off. I signed a three-book deal, so this is all part of the same story. The second book will be more dramatic than the first. It’s a relief, because I didn’t have to worry about character introductions."

HIGGINS STILL FEARS LETTERMAN’S WRATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:21 pm

Actor JOHN MICHAEL HIGGINS fears DAVID LETTERMAN still hasn’t forgiven him for portraying the talk show host in a TV movie 13 years ago.
Higgins was cast as Letterman in The Late Shift, a docu-drama based on the politics of late night TV. It focused particularly on Johnny Carson’s retirement from The Tonight Show and the decision to replace him with Jay Leno rather than Letterman.
Letterman vocally disapproved of the film and the decision to cast Higgins as him - and Higgins suspects he’s still angry more than a decade on.
Revealing he has been booked to appear on the host’s Late Show twice before being bumped, Higgins tells Starpulse.com, "He didn’t like the project from the beginning and didn’t make it easy for me - or for anyone doing that project. It was hard. I took it because I needed to fix the steering column on my Subaru is why I took it.
"There was a famous incident where he invited me to the show and I got bumped off the show. Everyone sort of tried to figure out what happened there… it’s odd though, it’s an interesting job. It’s really interesting to industry people. To still be talking about a job I was in 13 years ago is very unusual."

FIELDER-CIVIL’S REGRETS OVER WINEHOUSE MARRIAGE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:48 am

AMY WINEHOUSE’s ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL regrets letting their marriage slide into drug abuse - admitting the pair’s turbulent relationship meant they were "killing each other".
The couple married in Miami, Florida in summer 2007 after a whirlwind romance but the troubled union ended in a divorce, which was finalised earlier this month (Jul09).
The relationship was rocked as both Winehouse and Fielder-Civil struggled with drug addiction, with the Black to Black hitmaker suffering a near-fatal overdose in August 2007 - just months after they married.
Fielder-Civil spent the majority of their marriage behind bars after he was jailed last July (08) on charges of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice, relating to a 2007 assault on a pub landlord.
The 27 year old insists their relationship was ruined by drugs - and wishes they had never dabbled in illegal substances.
He says, "Heroin put us through hell and wrecked our marriage. If only I could go back and change things, I would." Fielder-Civil admits his wife could never love him as much as drugs - and recalls the moment the star’s father, Mitch, pointed that out to him.
He adds, "Her dad, for all his faults, hit the nail on the head when he told me one time, ‘Amy loves heroin more than you.’ Then he admitted, ‘She loves drugs more than me, too.’ I’ve seen him shout, scream, beg, grovel - all sorts and she won’t listen.
"You can’t have a relationship and be a heroin addict - you can’t. You can’t sustain love for each other when you are constantly fighting over a bit of gear (drugs). I was fighting for her attention with her drug taking, her eating disorders, the fame, her record company. In the end I just couldn’t take it any more. We were killing each other."

WINEHOUSE ‘SMOKED DRUGS ON STAGE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

AMY WINEHOUSE sank so deep into drug addiction she smoked crack cocaine during her gigs, according to her ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL.
The troubled star fled her native Britain last year (08), spending eight months in the Caribbean in a bid to kick her longrunning battle with drink and drugs - which nearly claimed her life following an accidental overdose in 2007.
Fielder-Civil, whose divorce from the singer was finalised earlier this month (Jul09), admits he introduced Winehouse to heroin in 2006, and she later developed a serious addiction to the deadly drug, as well as crack cocaine.
He says, "We were in a hotel in East London having one of our mad little nights. I’d been smoking heroin on my own before that, but never in front of her. I got a bit for myself and she looked at me and said, ‘Can I have some?’ I was out of my mind on drugs and I said, ‘Of course.’ Amy took to heroin like a duck to water, same as me." Fielder-Civil alleges the star began spending more than $10,500 (£7,000) a week on drugs at the height of her addiction and often used a "crack pipe" smoking device to ingest drugs during her gigs.
He explains, "Amy would stumble off, with her hands out, waiting for the pipe. She smoked after every song, and without her hit, she wouldn’t go on. It’s no wonder she couldn’t sing properly. We carried a crack pipe everywhere with us. If we went out to dinner, Amy would get it out and hide under the table so she could have a quick hit. She was quite blatant about it and no one ever questioned her." After her accidental overdose in 2007, Winehouse endured a brief stint in rehab at the Causeway clinic in Essex, England.
And Fielder-Civil admits he used to smuggle in drugs for her while she was undergoing treatment.
He adds, "I think the most inappropriate place we did drugs was probably in rehab. I took something in with me - just a couple of Valium and a heroin substitute. But it showed we weren’t taking the thing seriously."

WINEHOUSE PAID FOR EX’S PRISON DRUGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

AMY WINEHOUSE helped her ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL buy drugs in prison - funding his habit while he was behind bars.
Fielder-Civil was sentenced to a 27 month stint in jail last July (08) after he was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice, relating to a 2007 assault on a pub landlord.
He was granted an early release deal in November (08) - on the condition he underwent regular drug testing - but was sent back to jail in December (08) after failing to stay clean.
He was released in February (09) and went on to finalise his divorce from the troubled singer earlier this month (Jul09).
Fielder-Civil admits he continued taking drugs while he was in prison and claims his ex-wife used to help him get his hands on the illegal substances.
He says, "Whenever I needed heroin I would make a phone call to Amy and tell her to to put some money into this specific account. Sometimes I only needed a £20 a day hit, but other times I was taking it constantly all day and could spend £140 a day.
"Amy never denied me and she always made sure the money was there, even when she wasn’t visiting me or writing to me." Winehouse fled Britain last year (08) and spent eight months in the Caribbean in a bid to kick her own drug habit.

FIELDER-CIVIL: ‘WINEHOUSE STOLE DRUGS FROM MOSS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:45 am

AMY WINEHOUSE’s ex-husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL has blasted his former lover in an explosive new interview in which he accuses the troubled star of stealing drugs from supermodel KATE MOSS.
Fielder-Civil has opened up about the Back to Black hitmaker’s struggle with narcotics, alleging the singer sank so deep into addiction she often went to desperate measures to get her hands on illegal substances.
The former junkie alleges the pair attended a celebrity party at New York’s Gramercy Park Hotel in May 2007, just weeks after their whirlwind wedding in Florida, where drugs were freely available.
Fielder-Civil claims Winehouse indulged her raging habit by stealing a packet - allegedly containing cocaine - from Moss’ purse.
He says, "Kate Moss and another supermodel were there, as well as Hollywood actresses. Kate had told Amy to get a 10 dollar note out of her handbag to snort lines (of cocaine) with. But Amy told me she found two grammes of cocaine in there - so she nicked (stole) them.
"We did some in the toilets and had sex, but we did the rest in front of everyone. There was plenty of cocaine on a table in a room available to everyone. Kate was so drunk she never knew it was missing." Fielder-Civil also claims the pair once took cocaine on a private jet owned by Pamela Anderson, after the former Baywatch star invited them to Las Vegas, he adds, "Me and Amy sneaked off to the toilet then too." Moss was previously caught up in a drug scandal in 2005 when a British tabloid printed pictures of the catwalk beauty allegedly snorting a white powder at a recording studio in London.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

Hollywood actor RUSSELL CROWE shocked staff at a U.K. charity shop recently - after he walked in and made a $1,500 (£1,000) donation.
The Gladiator star is currently in Britain filming his new Robin Hood movie but took a break from his busy schedule to visit the Cancer Research store in Sunningdale, Berkshire - which is close to the film set.
And the star made a very generous contribution to the cancer charity.
A volunteer at the shop tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "We couldn’t believe it, Russell Crowe came in and gave us the money. We had been hoping to catch a glimpse of him. We were all a bit star-struck, but it was lovely to meet him and he stopped and had a bit of a chat with us."

BROOKS IS BEX’S MUSICAL INSPIRATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:42 am

Former DANITY KANE singer SHANNON BEX has abandoned her R&B/pop roots and turned to country star GARTH BROOKS for inspiration as she starts work on her debut solo album.
The blonde beauty has been keeping a low profile since quitting rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ girl group earlier this year (09).
But she’s heading back into the studio to record some new tunes - and she’s drawing ideas from an unlikely musical hero.
She says, "I’m just working on kind of finding my solo sound. I’ve been with a group for an amazing five years, and you know, it kind of happens, things move on. I want to do it right, though. I’m not jumping into anything.
"(Brooks) is such an honest performer. I went to his concert for the first time ever, and… it felt like he was performing right to me."
