JOHN TRAVOLTA is reportedly set to abandon Scientology after losing faith in the controversial religion following the death of his teenage son.
The Grease star and his wife Kelly Preston, two of Scientology’s most prominent followers, are still struggling to come to terms with 16-year-old Jett’s tragic demise after he suffered a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas in January (09).
Jett was rumoured to have battled seizures since childhood, but the youngster was not prescribed any medication to treat the alleged condition as Scientologists are generally opposed to drugs.
The sudden loss is said to have left Travolta with doubts about the religion he’s followed for the last 34 years.
Scientology expert, lecturer Rick Ross, tells DailyMail.co.uk, "There have been strong rumours coming out of Scientology that John Travolta is disappointed that the religion was not able to help his son more. It’s led him to question his faith."

KIM CATTRALL has been left devastated after discovering her grandfather was a bigamist.
The Sex and the City star appeared on British television series Who Do You Think You Are?, in which celebrities trace their family trees, and she was left stunned when she uncovered a truth about her maternal grandfather.
Cattrall asked researchers to find out what had happened to him after he mysteriously disappeared in 1939, and she discovered he married someone else while still married to her grandmother.
Cattrall, who was born and brought up in Liverpool, England before finding success in Hollywood, admits she found it difficult telling her mum and two aunts the truth because she didn’t want to ruin their high hopes about what had happened to their dad.
She says, "The most difficult thing was telling my mother and her sisters the truth of what became of their father. I felt I was ruining their last fantastic hope of what became of him. He was unremarkable except in his selfishness.
"Ultimately, who am I to judge my grandfather? His story will eventually integrate into our lives and we’ll carry on just like we’ve always done. We are British, after all. In the end, this became a story not about my grandfather’s desertion, but about my mother and her two sisters surviving it. For that, I am profoundly proud and grateful."

MICHAEL JACKSON’s ex-wife DEBBIE ROWE has hit the headlines again after showing up at her former boss DR. ARNOLD KLEIN’s offices in Beverly Hills.
Dermatologist Klein has been named as the potential biological father of the late pop star’s eldest children Prince Michael and Paris, who were born during his marriage to Rowe.
Cameramen and reporters jumped into action when Rowe showed up at Klein’s offices, reportedly to see another medic who shares the location, on Monday morning (27Jul09).
Speaking briefly to TMZ.com, a polite Rowe answered questions about her former boss’ involvement with ongoing investigations surrounding her late ex-husband’s death.
She told reporters, "That’s up to Dr. Klein and the government, I guess." But when the questions continued, Rowe added, "I haven’t worked for Dr. Klein for 12 years." She was then asked if she knew what Propofol - the drug that reportedly cost her ex-husband his life - was, and she answered, "Yes… (It’s) a medication that is used in anaesthesia." Toxicology reports stemming from the autopsy on Jackson’s body are expected to be released later this week (ends31Jul09).

MICHAEL JACKSON’s goddaughter, LUCY LESTER, was convinced the King of Pop was playing a prank on the world when his death was announced.
The 17-year-old daughter of Jackson’s longterm friend, former child star Mark Lester, watched the news unfold about the pop star’s death on TV last month (Jun09), and she found herself thinking the whole thing was a hoax.
Lester admits she expected her godfather to call her and laugh about the joke.
She says, "I was sitting on my own watching TV when I heard the news. I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I thought it was a joke and that any minute Michael - who regularly called me - would phone up in stitches over his elaborate trick." She admits the truth sank in when she saw the King of Pop’s brother Jermaine reading out a statement confirming the shock death.
Her father was among the first celebrities to pay tribute to Jackson.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE christened his new golf course in Tennessee on Saturday (25Jul09) by taking to the tee to hit the first ball.
The golf-mad SexyBack hitmaker purchased the luxury Mirimichi resort, formerly called Big Creek Golf Course, in 2007 and has spent a staggering $16 million (£10.6 million) on revamping the grounds and making the sporting mecca completely environmentally friendly.
The resort had its official opening at the weekend, and Timberlake celebrated by being the first to tee-off in an early morning game with his mother, stepfather and an old family friend.
And Timberlake is delighted with this new course: "Nobody’s happier about this course (than me)."

Rocker JOEL MADDEN is adding author to his resume - he has started work on his autobiography.
The Good Charlotte star, 30, has put pen to paper to share his experiences about life as a successful musician and family man living under the pressures of Hollywood.
But Madden, who is preparing to welcome his second child with girlfriend Nicole Richie, has yet to set a release date for the memoir because he wants his work to be word-perfect before anyone gets to read it.
He tells People.com, "I’m lightly working on one but I don’t want to put a book out there if it’s not actually meaningful. I’m not going to go there unless I can deliver." And Madden insists the tome won’t be a throwaway celebrity read: "It would be about my life. It would be about, mostly, the big changes in my life: Kids, relationships, moving to L.A…the big life changes that I’ve gone through.
"If I put a book out, I want it to be something that matters to me. It has to be real, you can’t just put a book out, to put a book out. I want every page to mean something."

Rising rapper DRAKE has been forced to pull out of plans to join mentor LIL WAYNE on tour, because his injured knee has failed to heal in time.
The hip-hop newcomer was expected to preview tracks from his highly-anticipated debut album Thank Me Later during his performances on the Young Money Presents: The America’s Most Wanted Music Festival trek.
Drake had hoped to have recovered enough from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) to perform a 30-minute set, but the painful injury is still causing him problems - and, as a result, he has had to cancel his solo slot altogether.
He tells MTV.com, "I’m not doing my own set. That’s one thing I have to apologise to my fans about. It’s too much of a risk, if I hit that wrong turn (doing) 30 minutes every night. If I tear my ACL again, the doctors say I might not be able to walk again. I have to be cautious." The tour kicks off in Pennsylvania on Monday night (27Jul09) and Drake is determined to at least make an appearance onstage to collaborate with Lil Wayne - even if his doctors don’t approve.
He adds, "I didn’t really get any approval from my doctor, but I made a personal decision 48 hours ago that I’d be letting a lot of people down if I didn’t show up and at least show them I’m there for them.
"For the last two weeks, I’ve been really going hard, getting all types of acupuncture, trying to bring the swelling (in my knee) down. I’m walking around - no cane. I’ll put a brace on it. No one will probably even know I’m injured."

British rockers COLDPLAY have signed up to appear in hit animated show THE SIMPSONS.
The cartoon series regularly features star guests and has seen cameos from high profile acts including Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Green Day, Aerosmith and U2.
And now the Yellow hitmakers are set to join the yellow cast for a one-off episode, in which comedic patriarch Homer Simpson wins the lottery and hires the band to perform a private show for his family.
Late singer Eartha Kitt will also appear in the upcoming 21st season of the show - she filmed her appearance before her death last year (08). The new episodes are due to air in America from September (09).

Supermodel JOANNA KRUPA has lashed out at stars who wear fur, vowing she’d never date a man with animal skin in his closet.
The Polish-born stunner has represented animal rights charities in the past, and has strong words for celebrities she has seen sporting real fur - particularly rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Krupa tells Maxim magazine, "I think it’s the cheesiest s**t on the planet for a man to wear fur. Look at Diddy - he looks like a ‘tard. If you think you look hot in a fur jacket, you have issues."

Action man STEVEN SEAGAL’s representatives have confirmed the actor is in talks to join the cast of ROBERT RODRIGUEZ’s GRIND HOUSE spin-off movie MACHETE.
The reps initially denied rumours Seagal was among the stars considered for roles in the Danny Trejo film, which featured as a spoof trailer in the Grind House double bill, but now they’re backtracking, telling MovieHole.net that their client will be a part of the ultra-violent movie if "conditions" work out.
Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez and Jonah Hill are also said to be in line for roles in Machete.

French Bond girl EVA GREEN dreads falling ill in the U.K. - because the country’s health system is so shambolic.
The Casino Royale star moved to London from her native Paris after falling in love with the city, but she is so concerned about the country’s National Health Service (NHS) - compared to the standard of hospitals in France - she endures sleepless nights fretting about needing treatment.
Green says, "I make myself ill worrying about getting ill. I spend so many nights worrying about the state of the NHS.
"It’s silly, I know, but I’m petrified of having an accident or getting ill in England. If I get run over, I think I may want the ambulance to take me straight to the (London to Paris train) Eurostar. Unfortunately, the state of hospitals in Britain is so poor compared to France."

Former FRASIER star KELSEY GRAMMER has won his fight to keep his sister’s murderer behind bars - writing an emotional letter to ensure the killer was not released.
Freddie Glenn abducted, raped and murdered Grammer’s teenage sister Karen in 1975. She bled to death after Glenn and two associates slashed her throat and dumped her by the side of a road in Colorado Springs, Colorado after molesting her.
He was handed a life sentence for the crime but came up for parole earlier this year (09).
Grammer vowed to fight to keep Glenn behind bars and although he was not able to attend his parole hearing on Monday (27Jul09), he wrote a moving letter to the prison board, urging them not to let the killer walk free, according to TMZ.com.
His letter, which was read aloud at the hearing, paid tribute to his sister and revealed the family’s heartache over the brutal murder.
It read, "She was so smart and good and decent. She was my best friend and the best person I knew.
"That day in 1975 she was looking forward to coming home; instead she was abducted by a group of animals, raped by them, savaged by them and then finally butchered by them.
"I loved my sister, Karen. I miss her. I miss her in my bones. I was her big brother. I have never gotten over it. lt very early destroyed me. I know it destroyed my grandmother. My mother was broken by it.
"Please consider when you wrestle with the fate of this man that killed my sister, (that) we, whose lives were so altered by his selfishness and brutality, have spent those years in a prison of our own - why should his fate be any different? More importantly how can you ever believe this man can be safely returned to society? "Consider the extremity of his crimes. This is a butcher. A monster. Can you be certain he will not slaughter another innocent life and destroy another family?" Grammer’s wish was granted and Glenn was denied parole. He will not be eligible for release again until 2014.

Troubled actress MISCHA BARTON is "doing well" after she was released from a Los Angeles hospital over the weekend (25-26Jul09).
The former The O.C. star was allegedly placed on involuntary psychiatric hold on 16 July (09) after suffering a meltdown and calling cops to her Hollywood home.
The extent of Barton’s health crisis remains a mystery, with her representative, Craig Schneider, simply confirming she had sought treatment for a "medical issue".
But Schneider has revealed to RadarOnline.com that Barton is now out of hospital and is preparing to return to work when filming on her new TV show The Beautiful Life begins.
The spokesman adds, "That’s the intention, (but) it hasn’t been in production yet." Shooting on the programme, created by Ashton Kutcher, was initially reported to have been delayed by Barton’s hospitalisation, but network chiefs at The CW insist the hold-up was the result of unfinished sets.
Barton, 23, is set to play Sonja Stone, a catwalk beauty addicted to pills, on The Beautiful Life, which is tentatively scheduled to start filming on 31 July (09).

Pop star LILY ALLEN made sure the debut of her new jewellery collection on Monday (27Jul09) was a headline-grabbing event - she accidentally flashed a nipple during the London launch.
The Smile hitmaker was promoting the self-titled range at top hotel Claridge’s when her black corset slipped down and exposed her breast.
But Allen simply laughed off the wardrobe malfunction and continued to smile for the cameras after readjusting her top.

KATIE HOLMES had a lucky escape on the Australian set of her new film DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK over the weekend (25-26Jul09) when a car she was shooting in caught fire.
According to RadarOnline.com, Tom Cruise’s wife was in the middle of a scene when the car’s battery exploded unexpectedly, sending the cast and crew running for safety as smoke poured out from beneath the hood.
Holmes emerged unscathed and no injuries were reported from the Victoria location.

UMA THURMAN refuses to rule out cosmetic surgery as she gets older - insisting she understands why female actresses go under the knife.
The Kill Bill star turns 40 next year (09) and has so far steered clear of any surgical procedures in a bid to turn back the years.
But Thurman can appreciate why many stars in Hollywood go under the knife to halt the ageing process.
She says, "I totally understand, in my line of work, if someone feels that they’re not going to be able to do the job they passionately love unless they cut their face.

A battle between two of MOTLEY CRUE rocker VINCE NEIL’s managers has been settled.
Burt Stein and Allen Kovac have been warring through the courts for the past 18 months over their representation of the band’s lead singer.
Stein alleged the band and its management tried to put a stop to the percentage of revenues he is paid, while Kovac claimed Stein had been terminated as Neil’s manager and was owed nothing.
According to papers filed in Nashville, Tennessee on 17 July (09), the matter has been resolved. Details of the settlement were not disclosed.

Rap mogul SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has finally paid up to settle a two-year-old tax bill.
The hip-hop star owed America’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) $7,373 (£4,915) after underpaying the federal tax for the Atlanta, Georgia branch of his restaurant Justin’s in 2007.
Combs’ assistants claimed they were unaware of the financial oversight, blaming an address mix-up for failing to receive the IRS warnings about the outstanding amount.
The entrepreneur is now up to date on his tax payments after writing out a new cheque for the debt - but he’s baffled about how the administration error occurred.
His spokesperson says, "The new address was on file with the IRS, so it is surprising this happened."
