BEYONCE’s younger sister SOLANGE KNOWLES has followed through with her threat to shave her head - the singer has chopped off her long locks as part of a protest against interviewers who constantly ask her about her famous sibling.
Knowles recently took to the internet to voice her displeasure at members of the media who use their time with her to quiz her all about Beyonce - threatening to "turn into Britney (Spears) - shave my head and go totally crazy." And now Solange has lived up to her promise, and copied the Toxic star’s infamous head-shaving 2007 incident.
In a new Twitter.com post, she reveals she’s "not bald" but is just going through the "I wanna cut all my hair off phase." She has since been pictured out and about in Los Angeles sporting her new super-short cropped hairstyle.

The BLACK EYED PEAS are all set to make chart history in the U.S. on Thursday (23Jul09) by becoming one of only three acts to score 16 consecutive weeks at the top of the singles chart.
The group’s hits Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling have spent 12 and three weeks at number one respectively, and the latter is expected to extend its stay by a week when the countdown is announced on Thursday.
The other two acts who have spent 16 consecutive weeks at number one in America are Boyz II Men, who scored the feat twice, and Mariah Carey.

LISA MARIE PRESLEY is fighting to free a baby chimpanzee named after her.
Elvis’ daughter is urging bosses of party organisers Ed and Annette’s Monkeys and More, of Chicago, Illinois to place the ape in a sanctuary.
Lisa Marie the chimp is used as a crowd-pleasing exhibit at events staged by the company, but is reportedly kept in a small cage when not "working" - prompting staff at animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to call for action.
And Presley has joined the campaign to save her namesake, firing off a letter to Monkeys and More asking them to re-house the chimp.
She writes, "While it is flattering that you named her after me, it is concerning that there are reportedly some inhumane and unsafe practices that impact her well-being. PETA has asked me to become involved in asking you most humbly to please relinquish Lisa Marie to a sanctuary where she can live in comfort, peace, and the company of other chimpanzees.
"Years ago, my father also had a pet chimpanzee, and less was known then about their complex needs. Experts now tell us that the intricate bonds of a chimpanzee society are of the utmost importance to these animals. The lack of physical contact with other chimpanzees could do Lisa Marie irreparable harm.
"I urge you to seriously consider releasing Lisa Marie to a sanctuary. I would be thrilled to hear that you’ve allowed her to pursue a more free life as a true chimpanzee in a habitat that she could better thrive in."

A legendary California ghost town is all set to go Hollywood thanks to a new movie venture.
Calico Ghost Town in the Mojave Desert will be the setting for a new spooky Wild West film.
The former mining town was abandoned in 1907 and has since become a tourist attraction and a theme park sideline at California’s Knott’s Berry Farm.

Comedian TRACY MORGAN is grateful to have overcome his battle with alcoholism because it’s given him a second chance at becoming a better father.
The 30 Rock star struggled with his addiction for years, but after two arrests for driving under the influence (DUI) in 2005 and 2006, he was forced to tackle his substance abuse head on.
Morgan has now been sober for 18 months but he admits it’s a daily battle to stay clean.
He says, "I’ve been sober for a year-and-a-half now, and I feel it all. I’m not inebriated anymore. I want to feel the good, the bad and the ugly. I want to remember it all. I couldn’t do that when I wasn’t sober. What I have learned over the years is to try to stay in the moment. I want to feel it all because I’ve realised nothing lasts. I’m not perfect but I strive for it. I take it one day at a time, but if you can get it to one hour at a time, I’m good." And he credits his three sons - Gitrid, 23, Malcolm, 21, and Tracy, Jr., 17, with ex-wife Sabrina - with giving him the motivation to kick his habit.
Morgan tells People.com, "I deal with my sons like young men. If they have a problem with something, they come to me. I am the type of dad that will drop everything I am doing for them, and always tell them to talk to me about it. I’m not (as) crazy as you’d think. They have grown to be respectable young men that (sic) are funnier than I could ever be."

Singer AMY WINEHOUSE has denied punching a dancer in the face at a charity event - insisting she felt intimidated by the girl and simply pushed her away.
The Back to Black hitmaker is accused of attacking Sherene Flash during a charity ball in London last September (08) after she tried to have her photo taken with the star.
Winehouse appeared at London’s City of Westminster magistrates’ court on Thursday (23Jul09) to stand trial on a charge of assault.
Flash told the hearing Winehouse looked "drunk and like she was on drugs" and alleged the star hit her in the face without provocation.
But Winehouse rebuffed the claims when she took the stand - denying she deliberately struck Flash.
The singer told the court, "She moved her left arm to lean down to me and tried to pose next to me. Her friend came round in front of us and started taking a picture. I was like, ‘Do I get a choice in this, hello?’ I pushed her up, like away. I wanted her away from me.
"It was more like an indication of ‘leave me alone, I’m scared of you’.
"Itâ��s just rude. My bodyguard was keeping an eye on what was going on. He stepped in. It was like, â��Let that girl be, sheâ��s drunk.â�� People are just rude or just mad these days. Or people canâ��t handle drink.â�� Winehouse also insisted she felt scared and intimidated by Flash because the dancer towered over her tiny frame - telling the court her diminutive stature meant she couldn’t have punched the dancer.
She even demonstrated her height by leaping out of the witness box to twirl in front of the judge.
Winehouse added, "She�s taller than me. I had flat shoes on. I�m probably 5 foot 2 inches to 3 inches tall. But my hair does make a difference.� Winehouse, 25, has pleaded not guilty to assault. The trial continues.

The New York apartment where HEATH LEDGER died after suffering an accidental overdose has reportedly been sold in a foreclosure auction for $15 million (GBP10 million).
Ledger was renting the downtown Manhattan apartment for $23,000 (GBP15,330) at the time of his death in January 2008.
The apartment has remained empty since the tragic accident.
Palm Beach Mortgage Management’s Donald Burns, the main lender to the building, offered the winning bid through his lawyer, reports real-estate website therealdeal.com.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s three children will be raised by his older sister REBBIE JACKSON, according to a new report.
The pop superstar’s kids Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II aka Blanket, have been left in the care of their grandmother Katherine since the sudden death of their father last month (Jun09).
Janet Jackson was allegedly helping her elderly mother look after the youngsters at the family home in Encino, California, and recent U.S. tabloid reports claimed the Nasty hitmaker had offered to become their primary guardian if the 79 year old was unable to do so.
But now TMZ.com reports Rebbie, 59, is likely to welcome them into the Las Vegas home she shares with her husband of 20 years instead.
Multiple sources have told the website the Jackson clan is united in nominating the eldest of the Thriller singer’s siblings to raise the children.
Katherine Jackson was awarded temporary guardianship of the kids pending a custody hearing next month (03Aug09) that the two older children’s biological mother, Debbie Rowe, is expected to attend.
Jackson’s will, which was filed in 2002, stipulates he wanted his mother to care for his children in the event of his death, and names singer Diana Ross as his second-choice guardian.

British actor JUDE LAW has denied punching a female photographer during an evening out in London, insisting the incident was an "accident." The Alfie star was surrounded by snappers as he exited Automat nightclub in the early hours of Thursday morning (23Jul09).
He was accused of hitting an unnamed woman photographer on the head and slapping her in the face as she tried to take his picture.
But the star insists he was blinded by camera flashes and didn’t mean to strike the female with his flailing arm.
A statement from his lawyer, Graham Shear, reads, "This is all nonsense. Last night’s incident was an accident. Jude was blinded by the camera flashes when he left the restaurant, raised his hand to shield himself and inadvertently struck somebody standing very close. He apologised and left. Pictures of this sort can often be misleading." Law was previously accused of assaulting a paparazzi photographer in 2007 - he was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm after attempting to grab a camera outside his London home. He was later released without charge.
Law is the latest in a long line of celebrities who have endured scuffles with the paparazzi. Lily Allen was cautioned by the police in 2007 for assaulting a snapper outside her home, and the incident later caused her problems in obtaining a U.S. work visa.
In March this year (09) she was granted a court order banning the paparazzi from getting too close following another scuffle with the press.
And rapper Kanye West twice fell foul of the law when he tussled with photographers at LAX airport, Los Angeles in September last year (08) and in Newcastle, north England in November (08).

The concert promoters behind MICHAEL JACKSON’s doomed comeback shows have filed legal papers requesting permission to be involved in next month’s (Aug09) court hearing regarding the pop superstar’s will.
Bosses at AEG filed a motion at Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month (Jul09) asking to receive all legal notices and letters of probate hearings, reports TMZ.com. The motive behind the executives’ court request is as yet unknown.
The probate case is expected to go before a judge on 3 August (09), when Jackson’s mother Katherine will hear if she has been granted permission to be involved in all dealings of her son’s estate.
Katherine Jackson, 79, has denied claims she is looking to contest her son’s will after she filed papers requesting clarification of her legal standing as an indirect beneficiary of the estate.
The Thriller hitmaker appointed his longtime financial adviser John Branca and music executive John McClain as executors, while the 2002 will puts his mum in indirect control of 40 per cent of his assets. Another 40 per cent has been left to his kids Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, aka Blanket and the remaining 20 per cent is dedicated to children’s charities.

SUGABABES star KEISHA BUCHANAN has been banned from driving after pleading guilty to a speeding offence.
The British pop star appeared at Nuneaton Magistrates court in Warwickshire, England on Wednesday (22Jul09) to answer charges in relation to an incident in January this year (09).
The star was caught on camera driving at 85 miles per hour (mph) (137 kilometres per hour) along a motorway in England’s Midlands region - flouting a 50mph (80 kmph) speed limit.
The 24 year old entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to a three-week driving ban and subjected to a $1,875 (£1,250).
A court worker tells British newspaper The Sun, "Keisha was clearly embarrassed. But she didn’t seem fazed by the amount she was fined."

British DJ CALVIN HARRIS has taken to the internet to launch a foul-mouthed rant against music industry bosses in an ongoing dispute over video-sharing website YouTube.com The chart-topper is fuming after many of his music videos were removed from the site as industry executives battle to enforce copyright protection over artists’ work.
The website has been forced to take down promos from a number of high profile musicians including Madonna and Led Zeppelin after record labels demanded royalties from the videos screened online.
And Harris is the latest star to fall victim to the ongoing legal wrangling - several of his videos have been removed from the site, and the DJ is not happy about it.
Harris has taken to his Twitter.com page to voice his anger over the overzealous copyright enforcements - and he has blamed executives at music industry watchdog the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for the dispute.
He writes, "Youtube have now removed the original mix and video of Ready For The Weekend, due to a ‘copyright claim’. It’s my f**king song you absolute b**tards. This is enough to tip me over the edge, I’m not joking. There are videos up there that other people have uploaded of the same song, and they haven’t been removed!? But mine does! "It’s the f**king BPI. F**k you… What have you ever done for anybody you useless shower of c**ts. Fantastic use of time combating piracy by removing my own videos. The BPI are the worst organisation to ever walk the earth and their setup is shambolic and their online employees are all massive retards." But the star subsequently regretted his outburst and apologised to workers at the BPI for his critisisms in his next post, adding, "OK I got a bit caught up in the heat of the moment. Sorry to employees of the BPI who aren’t massive retards. But please put my video back."

R&B singer KELIS has made an emotional tribute to her new baby son, KNIGHT - calling the tot "kinda perfect".
The Milkshake hitmaker welcomed her first child with estranged husband Nas this week (beg29Jul09) after a three day labour in a New York hospital.
Kelis admits the birth was the most painful experience of her life, but she is delighted with her beautiful baby son.
Writing on her Twitter.com internet page, she states, "OK, so I did it, he’s 7.8 pounds of the greatest stuff on earth. I was in labour for three of the longest, most painful days of my life. I don’t understand when women say they don’t remember giving birth.
"I will remember for the rest of my life. He’s kinda (sic) perfect." Kelis has been accused of banning her former partner from the birth, amid reports the rapper was drunk on champagne following a concert.
The hip-hop supercouple split earlier this year (09) and is currently in the middle of divorce proceedings.

Famed art director HEINZ EDELMANN, who crafted psychedelic BEATLES film YELLOW SUBMARINE, has died aged 75.
The graphic designer and illustrator, who received worldwide acclaim for the 1968 animated movie, died on Tuesday (21Jul09) in Stuttgart, Germany. The cause of death was stated as heart disease and kidney failure.
The Beatles’ project was his first feature-length animated film, built around a 1966 song of the same name, credited to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, with lead vocals by Ringo Starr.
In addition to his work with the Fab Four, Edelmann was a highly successful illustrator in Germany, England and the Netherlands.
He illustrated the first German edition of J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and designed the mascot for the Expo â��92 world fair in Seville, Spain.
Edelmann is survived by his wife, Anna, a daughter, Valentine, and one grandchild.

Rapper JAY-Z is to headline his first U.S. festival.
The hip-hop heavyweight has been confirmed as the Friday night top-biller at the All Points West Music & Arts Festival in Liberty State Park, New Jersey on 31 July (09) after the Beastie Boys were forced to pull out of their headlining slot.
The rap trio cancelled all of their summer dates after Adam Yauch, aka MCA, was diagnosed with cancer.
The show marks Jay-Z’s U.S. festival debut, but not his first festival date - he performed at a variety of European events last summer (08).
Other All Points West headliners are Tool and Coldplay. Performers include Echo & The Bunnymen, My Bloody Valentine, Vampire Weekend, MGMT and Fleet Foxes will also appear on the bill.

Disney singing sensations THE JONAS BROTHERS are putting down roots close to their New Jersey hometown - they are in talks to buy a $10 million (£6.7 million) mansion near their parents.
Brothers Kevin, 21, Joe, 19, and Nick, 16, are negotiating on a property in Alpine, New Jersey, reports the New York Post.
The 8,000-square-foot home boasts five-bedrooms and is just 20 minutes away from their hometown of Wyckoff.
