CROWE HELPS SET WORKER BUY NEW CAR
RUSSELL CROWE treated a movie worker to a new car after hers caught fire on the way to work.
Boom mic operator Denise Yarde was heading to the set of Crowe’s Robin Hood epic in Surrey, England when her vehicle went up in flames.
When she finally arrived at work and told colleagues of her ordeal, Crowe made jokes about the situation, reportedly causing Yarde to snap: "Well I suppose it’s ok for you Russell. You’ve probably never had to worry about finding five grand (£5,000) for a car." The Gladiator star felt sorry for Yarde and later returned to the set with a wad of cash, saying, "There you go. You can buy a £10,000 car now." A source on the set tells Britain’s Sunday Mirror, "It was a lovely gesture by Russell, who is known of the set for his generosity."
