HOUSTON ENJOYS AFTER-HOURS SHOPPING SPREE
WHITNEY HOUSTON enjoyed a warm welcome upon landing in London - the superstar was given a private shopping spree in the world’s largest fashion store.
Billionaire Sir Philip Green opened the doors of his flagship Topshop store in the capital on Tuesday (14Jul09), treating the singer to all the clothing and accessories she wanted - completely free of charge.
Houston, who arrived in the U.K. for the world preview of her new album, walked away with armfuls of outfits for her 16-year-old daughter Bobby Kristina - but only had eyes on a sweater for herself.
A source tells Britain’s London Lite newspaper, "Whitney grabbed bags and bags of stuff, but only chose one item of clothing for herself. She was overheard saying her daughter likes Topshop, so chose everything for her - except for a Union Jack cardigan for herself.
"Whitney looked ecstatic, and happily posed with staff for pictures and signed autographs for them.
"Sir Philip gave all of the staff crisp £50 notes as a thank you for staying on."
