A previously unreleased MICHAEL JACKSON song has been leaked online.
A Place with No Name, the King of Pop’s take on 1970s group America’s song A Horse with No Name, has debuted on website TMZ.com.
It is not known when Jackson recorded the track, but according to America manager Jim Morey - who guided the Thriller hitmaker’s career in the late 1980s and early ’90s - the band is eager for the tune to become one of the singer’s first official posthumous releases.
Morey says, "The band was honoured that Michael chose to do their song and they hope it becomes available for all Michael’s fans to hear."

MISCHA BARTON was placed on involuntary psychiatric hold after calling cops to her Hollywood home on Wednesday night (15Jul09), according to U.S. reports.
The actress was taken to a mystery location by officers who "assisted her with a medical issue", a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson has confirmed.
Her representative Craig Schneider tells People.com, "Police were involved due to Ms. Barton’s celebrity status, to safely transfer her to medical treatment as per doctor’s orders. (She’s) OK and resting." Now Access Hollywood is alleging LAPD officers placed Barton under a 5150 hold, reserved for individuals who present a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or suffer from a mental disorder.
Britney Spears was subjected to the same hold after her meltdown back in January 2008.
As a result of Barton’s health issue, she has cancelled her appearance at the premiere of her new movie Homecoming.
Producer Austin Stark has confirmed Barton will be absent from the red carpet screening in Tinseltown on Thursday (16Jul09), explaining, "There were some medical problems. She’s not able to travel, as far as I know."

Soul star MAXWELL has sealed his chart comeback by shooting to the top of the U.S. albums countdown with his new release BLACKSUMMERS’NIGHT.
The singer’s first disc in seven years beat the Hannah Montana 3 soundtrack to number one and pushed pop compilation Now 31 down from first to third place on the new Billboard 200.
Punk rockers All Time Low’s Nothing Personal is another new entry at four, while The Black Eyed Peas remain unmoved at number five with The E.N.D.
Meanwhile, in the Hot 100 singles chart, The Black Eyed Peas continue to fly high - I Gotta Feeling scores its third week in pole position, while their former chart-topper Boom Boom Pow packs a punch at three.

Rapper COREY MILLER has been thrown a lifeline as he prepares for a retrial in his second degree murder case - a jailed pal of the star has confessed he was the one who shot and killed a teen in the 2002 incident.
Miller, formerly known as C-Murder, was hit with the charges following the death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas during a brawl at a New Orleans, Louisiana nightclub seven years ago.
He was convicted in 2003 and handed a life sentence, but it was overturned in 2006 after he had spent three years in a Louisiana prison. A new trial was granted based on claims prosecutors improperly withheld criminal background information on three of their witnesses.
Miller is weeks away from the start of his new trial, but proceedings have been complicated after Juan Flowers, who is serving time behind bars in Georgia for a separate incident, told officers he fired the fatal shot that struck Thomas - not Miller.
Prosecutors argue Flowers’ apparent confession contradicts testimony given by Miller’s friend Dwayne ‘Wango’ Cobbins, who was present during the shooting. Cobbins alleged he saw Miller carry a small gun into the club, although he admitted he did not witness the shooting itself.
A Louisiana court judge is currently reviewing the new information to decide whether Flowers should be transferred from his prison in Georgia to testify in Miller’s retrial, which is due to begin next month (Aug09).
If the judge rules in Miller’s favour, he could escape having to serve a 10-year sentence in prison as per the terms of a plea deal he signed in May (09), reports AllHipHop.com.

Hip-hop star PHARRELL WILLIAMS’ legal woes are building up - he has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by little-known band GEGGY TAH over a song he produced for rap duo CLIPSE.
The Neptunes beatmaker is accused of ripping off Geggy Tah’s 1996 track Whoever You Are for the rappers’ All I Wanna Do (Feel Like Me), which was released in 2007.
According to TMZ.com, the California-based band’s co-founder Thomas Jordan filed the suit in a U.S. federal court earlier this week (begs13Jul09) and is seeking unspecified damages.
It’s the second lawsuit Williams has had to deal with in the last few days - he’s also been named as a defendant in legal action regarding water leaks from his Miami, Florida penthouse apartment.

JOSEPH ‘REV RUN’ SIMMONS’ teenage son has pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct following his May (09) arrest in New York for marijuana possession.
Nineteen-year-old Jojo - real name Joseph Simmons, Jr. - was initially charged with drug possession, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and criminal use of drug paraphernalia after Manhattan police caught him rolling a joint behind the wheel of his car.
But the felony counts were reduced just days after he was busted when the budding rapper reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
As per the agreement, Jojo’s counts relating to the drug possession were dropped and on Thursday (16Jul09) a judge sentenced him to just one day of community service, according to TMZ.com.

TV star DYLAN MCDERMOTT is planning to turn his back on Hollywood for a cross-country move to New York - as soon as his career slows down.
The Practice actor, 47, currently lives in Los Angeles but admits he has been househunting in the Big Apple for the past two decades.
But he is adamant he won’t uproot his life in Tinseltown unless his acting career takes him back to New York.
He tells the New York Post, "I miss this town. So great to be here, even for two days. I’d live here in a heartbeat if I could. I’ve tried moving here for 20 years. I started after the ‘94 earthquake but kept ending up on a plane heading to L.A. for work. Minute the wheels hit the Tarmac here I felt different. I miss going out at 10 at night. I miss talking to people, seeing people, seeing life."

BOB GELDOF’s daughter PIXIE has suffered a blow to her burgeoning runway career - she’s been dropped by her modelling agency.
Pixie Geldof had been signed to Select Model Management since the age of 16, but it was announced on Thursday (16Jul09) that her contract would not be renewed.
The agency was responsible for helping the 20 year old land the cover of fashion bible Italian Vogue earlier this year (09).
The youngster’s catwalk colleague, Daisy Lowe, the daughter of singer Pearl Lowe and rocker Gavin Rossdale, has also been ditched by Select bosses.

HARRY POTTER is the world’s most popular fantasy franchise, according to a new internet poll.
As the latest installment of the wizard adventure casts a spell over movie goers, visitors to websites Moviefone and Bebo have named it their favourite - trumping Lord of the Rings and even vampire tale Twilight.
Seventy-three per cent of voters chose Harry Potter, followed by Lord of the Rings with just 16 per cent, Twilight with eight per cent and The Chronicles of Narnia with three per cent.

Reality TV star IVANKA TRUMP is set to walk down the aisle - her boyfriend JARED KUSHNER has asked her to marry him.
The couple’s relationship took a serious turn late last year (08), when after a year-and-a-half of dating, the daughter of real-estate tycoon Donald Trump reportedly made plans to convert to Judaism for the New York Observer publisher.
Trump, 27, took to social networking site Twitter.com on Thursday (16Jul09) to announce the happy news.
She writes, "I got engaged last night…truly the happiest day of my life!!!"

Former child star CONNIE NEWTON NEEDHAM has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
The actress, who starred in 1970s U.S. TV show Eight Is Enough, has been working as a dance instructor at a Santa Margarita, California studio in recent years, but she has been forced to rest up after learning she was battling the deadly disease.
A post on the dance studio’s website reads, "Connie is currently in a battle with ovarian cancer and is temporarily unable to work." Needham, 49, is determined to fight the illness and has received words of support from her former TV co-stars.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "She has her old pals from Eight Is Enough - including Dick Van Patten, Grant Goodeve and old boyfriend Willie Aames - rooting for her. Connie says she’s going to fight as hard as she can."

AMY WINEHOUSE has reportedly been invited back to St. Lucia by her hotel manager, who insists the singer’s wild behaviour is tame compared to most British tourists.
The Rehab singer returned to her native London on Monday (13Jul09) after an eight-month break on the Caribbean island, where she had been trying to conquer her drink and drug addictions.
Winehouse was soon targeted by reports she had upset owners of the Cotton Bay complex, where she stayed, by causing more than $37,500 (£25,000) worth of damage to her hotel suite.
But a friend of the star alleges she has already been invited back to the resort - after charming the staff with her manners.
The insider tells Britain’s London Lite newspaper, "The manager of the hotel she was staying at was sad to see her go, and has said he would love to have her come back to stay again.
"Many of the staff are also sad she has left. Amy certainly can be a wild child but she’s nothing compared to some of the Brits who holiday in St Lucia. Amy always made a point to talk to people who worked at the hotel, and even looked after their kids when they were working."

KELLY ROWLAND has dismissed reports she and her former bandmates BEYONCE and MICHELLE WILLIAMS are working on one final DESTINY’S CHILD album, urging eager fans to "simmer down".
The Independent Women hitmakers parted ways in 2005 to embark on solo careers.
Rumours recently surfaced claiming the trio was heading back into the recording studio to make a fifth studio disc because they were said to be contractually obliged to Sony Music subsidiary Columbia Records to deliver another project.
But Rowland insists there is no such album or contract clause - and there has been no talk of a reunion just yet.
She tells the NYPost.com’s PopWrap blog, "There is no Destiny’s Child album in the works. None of us have talked about an album or anything. And until we do, no one else should worry about it. Simmer down now!" All three members have achieved success in their own right since the band’s split. Rowland is juggling her singing career with presenting duties for reality TV’s The Fashion Show; Williams is currently starring in the West End stage production of Chicago in London, and Beyonce has been wowing audiences with her global I Am… tour, as well as starring in movies like recent thriller Obsessed.

Actor ORLANDO BLOOM lost jewellery worth an estimated $500,000 (£333,330) when burglars broke into his Hollywood Hills mansion on Wednesday night (15Jul09).
The Pirates of the Caribbean star was in New York when the heist took place.
According to TMZ.com, two pricey watches are among the items stolen by thieves, who reportedly gained access to the Los Angeles property through a window.
Police sources tell the website the break-in did not appear to be "a typical burglary"; no arrests have yet to be made.

TOM CRUISE performed a mini-show for concert-goers at BEYONCE’s Los Angeles gig on Monday night (13Jul09) - by singing and dancing along to the superstar’s hit tune SINGLE LADIES (PUT A RING ON IT).
The Mission: Impossible actor attended the gig at the Staples Center without his wife Katie Holmes, who is shooting a new movie in Australia, but still managed to enjoy himself as he strutted his stuff throughout the night.
According to People.com, the Hollywood star raised cheers when he was spotted walking into the arena, and attendees couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Cruise following Beyonce and her dancers as they performed the famous dance routine for the catchy song.

MADONNA’s concert in the south of France on Sunday (19Jul09) has been cancelled after a worker was crushed to death under a falling stage.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon (16Jul09) at Marseilles Stade Velodrome, where Madonna was due to perform at the weekend.
According to reports, four cranes were holding a large section of the stage when a strap broke, dropping it on a group of technicians working below.
Authorities in the city have confirmed a 53-year-old French man has died, while an American and a Brit are fighting for their lives in hospital and six others are currently being treated for their injuries.
The whole area was barricaded after the accident, and WENN’s sources have confirmed Madonna’s performance in the city has been scrapped.
Issuing her condolences, Madonna says: "I am devastated to have just received this tragic news. My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news."

Rapper GHOSTFACE KILLAH is following his WU-TANG CLAN bandmate METHOD MAN into the world of comic books - he’s written his own graphic novel.
The hip-hop star has landed a publishing deal with the Hachete Book Group - the same company that deals with Method Man - for the release of Cell Block Z.
The story revolves around a boxer who is wrongly accused of murder and is illustrated by animator Chris Walker.
Cell Block Z is due for release on 29 July (09), reports XXL magazine.

METALLICA rocker LARS ULRICH is begging fans to help him find a pendant he lost during the band’s tour of Spain.
The drummer claims he lost the jewellery while jogging before the band’s gig in Madrid on Tuesday (14Jul09), in the area surrounding the concert’s Palacio de Deportes venue.
Ulrich is desperate to find the black cross pendant, which he was given as a gift, and he’s asked fans to send emails to their website, webmaster@metclub.com, with any clues.
The star is offering a reward to whoever helps him relocate it.
