UNIVERSITY WON’T MARK THE END FOR WATSON’S FILM WORK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:54 pm

EMMA WATSON has dismissed reports she plans to turn her back on acting after her stint as HERMIONE GRANGER in the HARRY POTTER films end in 2010, insisting she plans to take on film roles during breaks from university.
The young actress has enrolled to attend America’s prestigious Columbia University but she is committed to continuing her acting career, despite reports she plans to concentrate on her studies.
She tells WENN, "I’m going to university but it doesn’t mean I’m giving up acting. I feel like I do want to continue. I just want a normal experience for a bit.
"I think the media found it confusing that I wanted to go to university and don’t really understand why I’m doing it. I’m very excited and looking forward to it. I’ve managed to juggle and balance study and working well enough up to this point, so I don’t see why I can’t keep doing that.
"At university I’ve got five months off and the gaps are enormous, so I will have enough time to make films. I think everything is possible. I’m being a bit selfish really and trying to do everything."

SECRET DEAL TO KEEP JACKSON KIDS AWAY FROM JOE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:51 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s mother KATHERINE and his ex-wife DEBBIE ROWE have agreed a secret deal to keep family patriarch JOE away from the star’s three children, according to reports.
A custody hearing for Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, aka Blanket, was scheduled for Monday (13Jul09) in Los Angeles.
But court officials have confirmed it has now been postponed until 20 July (09), at the request of Katherine Jackson and Rowe - who is the biological mother of the two eldest children.
The two women are attempting to put their differences aside and reach a custody agreement whereby Katherine will bring the children up while Rowe will have regular access.
Rowe and Katherine want to ensure Jackson’s father, who Michael accused of beating him as a child, does not get access to the children after he was reported as saying he wants to turn them into stars like their late father.
Jackson’s former wife, who gave up her custody rights to her two children in 1999, is reportedly considering applying for a restraining order to legally bar Joe from contacting the kids.
A source tells Britain’s Sunday Mirror, "The last thing she wanted was for those kids to be looked after by Joe and go through what Michael went through. When they were together Michael poured out his heart about how much he loathed Joe for what he had done. And Katherine knows it’s best for the children if they can settle it between themselves and keep it all out of courts.
"They can’t stop Joseph seeing the kids at family functions and parties, but they can and will fight to prevent him having any formal role whatsoever in their upbringing."

LA TOYA: ‘MICHAEL WAS MURDERED’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:51 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON’s sister LA TOYA has sensationally backed calls for a detailed probe into the star’s death - insisting he was murdered for his fortune.
The King of Pop’s sibling claims a number of people took advantage of the singer and killed him - and she is determined to find out who was responsible for his death last month (Jun09).
She tells British newspaper the News of the World, "I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people. He was surrounded by a bad circle… Less than a month ago, I said I thought Michael was going to die before the London shows because he was surrounded by people who didn’t have his best interests at heart… I said to my family a month ago, ‘He’s never going to make it to London’. He was worth more dead than alive." The 53 year old’s concerns grew after Jackson’s doctor at the time of his death, Dr Conrad Murray, disappeared and another medic revealed the star had fresh needle marks on his body.
La Toya adds, "He had needle marks on his neck and on his arms and more about those will emerge in the next few weeks. I cannot discuss that any further as I may jeopardise the investigation. I can, however, say that I have not changed my mind about my feeling that Michael was murdered.
"I am going to get to the bottom of this. I am not going to stop until I find out who is responsible. Why did they keep the family away? It’s not about money. I want justice for Michael. I won’t rest until I find out what - and who - killed my brother." A senior Los Angeles police chief has confirmed cops are refusing to rule out the possibility Jackson was murdered. The head of L.A. police, William Bratton, told U.S. broadcaster CNN, "Are we dealing with a homicide or are we dealing with accidental overdose? I don’t have that information… We are still awaiting corroboration from the coroner’s office as to cause of death."

WILLIS SLAMMED OVER AIRPORT PLANS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:51 pm

BRUCE WILLIS has been slammed by local residents over his plans to build an airport near his ski resort in Idaho.
The Die Hard star is to rebuild his ski lodge, the Soldier Mountain resort, which was destroyed by fire earlier this year (09).
He also intends to build a private airport near the small town of Hailey, where he moved nearly 20 years ago.
But residents close by are criticising the 54 year old for jeopardising expansion plans for Hailey’s own airfield, Friedman Memorial.
Both Willis and managers of the town’s official airport want to build 8,000-feet runways, but an aviation expert insists the airfields will be too close together.
The expert tells Britain’s The Sunday Times, "The authorities will have to rule which is the safest. Friedman has a solid record but it is boxed into canyons. Willis carries a big stick and offers fresh employment opportunities." It’s not the first time Willis has faced problems over his property - in the 1990s he was sued by two builders over unpaid bills. The case was settled out of court.

WAITS FEELS FOR LODI LOCALS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:48 pm

Singer TOM WAITS feels sorry for residents of Lodi, California - because the winemaking town will always be associated with CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL’s tune STUCK IN LODI.
The Downtown Train singer is a proud Californian and hates to hear state towns and cities mocked in songs.
In an interview with Beck on the Loser hitmaker’s website, Waits says, "It’s (song) not a good advertisement for Lodi, ’cause you say, ‘Stuck in Lodi again.’ Who’s gonna move to a place that this guy (John Fogerty) told the whole world he felt ’stuck in’?" But Waits is not suggesting singer/songwriters should try to honour their favourite California places either - because songs about Los Angeles don’t always work.
He adds, "Not every town gets their song. Actually, (Frank) Sinatra tried to do a song about Los Angeles. It was really lame… It embarrassed the s**t out of me.
"LA, You’re a Lady. It was one of those lame, awful… Maybe it’s the rhyme or the rhythm of the name Los Angeles."

SKINNER PLANS MOVIE MOVE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:48 pm

THE STREETS star MIKE SKINNER is planning to swap music for movies - the British rapper wants to write his own film screenplay.
The Dry Your Eyes hitmaker is set to release a new album, Computers and Blues, next year (10) but he is convinced his music career won’t last much longer - and he would prefer to quit while he is ahead.
Skinner wants to channel his creativity into the film industry.
He says, "If I just kept going (in music) forever, it would all start to get repetitive.
"I’d like to write a film. We’ve been doing a lot of music videos, so we’ve kind of got a little team going on that I’d like to channel into a short film and then a feature length one."

BLUE’S JAMES: ‘I’M BISEXUAL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:45 pm

British boy band singer DUNCAN JAMES has confessed he is bisexual and has bedded several men in the past.
James, a member of vocal four-piece Blue, has fathered a child with his ex-girlfriend and publicly dated numerous females, including Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Love Actually star Martine McCutcheon.
But after recently reuniting with his band mates for a series of comeback concerts, the singer has decided to publicly admit he has had relationships with both men and women - because he’s sick of keeping his sexuality under wraps.
He tells British newspaper the News of the World, "I was living a secret life. I went through a process of asking what the f**k am I? Am I gay? Am I straight? Am I bi? That’s why I was so frightened about talking. Now, in my early 30s, I know who I am and I’m proud of who I am.
"I don’t want to hide anymore. I don’t feel I should launch a big comeback with Blue hiding this - don’t want to go back to the time in the band when I felt I had to keep certain things quiet. I want to be out and say I’ve had relationships with men as well as women."

TEEN KILLED AT SCOTTISH MUSIC FESTIVAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:45 pm

Tragedy has struck Scottish festival T IN THE PARK after a teenager was killed by a lorry as he searched for a ticket to the event.
The festival took place over the weekend (11/12Jul09) with acts including The Killers, Katy Perry and Kings of Leon taking to the stage.
On Friday (10Jul09) Lachlan Gillies, 17, was distraught when he realised he had lost his pass for the main arena, and left his friends on site while he headed out to buy a ticket from nearby touts.
The teen was only minutes from the site when he was struck by a lorry, suffering fatal head injuries.
Pal Nikki Gallagher, 17, says, "It has put a dampener on everything but we are still trying to enjoy ourselves - Lachlan would have wanted us to try and have a good time. That is the kind of guy he was."

LA TOYA SUSPICIOUS OF NANNY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:45 pm

LA TOYA JACKSON has suspicions over her late brother MICHAEL’s nanny GRACE RWARAMBA after she re-joined the family following her sacking last year (08).
Rwaramba worked for the King of Pop for 17 years, caring for Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II ‘Blanket’, seven, before she was dismissed.
Jackson’s mother Katherine has been looking after the children since their dad’s death last month (25Jun09), alongside Rwaramba who turned up for a day "and has been there ever since".
But La Toya is unsure of the nanny’s motives for helping out, telling British newspaper the Mail on Sunday, "The family has mixed feelings about her. Mother says she wants to be with the kids but I warned her to be careful. It’s not like the children like or dislike her. They like everyone. Mother is gullible and feels sorry for her." Tabloid reports also suggest the child carer was Jackson’s "secret girlfriend", but La Toya has insisted her brother wasn’t in a relationship with the nanny.
She adds, "I heard Grace liked Michael but he didn’t like her. He let her go last Christmas. I have a lot of questions about Grace. She was instrumental in keeping the family away. All of a sudden she is back, listening and watching the family. I think her behaviour is odd."

PARENTHOOD FILMING DELAYED OVER STAR ILLNESS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

New TV drama PARENTHOOD has been delayed by eight weeks after one of its stars, MAURA TIERNEY, fell ill.
The series, based on the 1989 movie, was due to start later this month (Jul09), but TV bosses have been forced to move the launch to the end of September (09) due to "medical evaluation" Tierney is undergoing.
Tierney is best known for playing Dr Abby Lockhart in hit medical series E.R. for ten years, for which she received an Emmy nomination.
It is the second time Parenthood’s filming schedule has been pushed back - in April the pilot was put on hold for two days after NBC’s vice president Nora O’Brien died unexpectedly on the set of the show in California.

FARROW APOLOGISES TO MPS OVER DARFUR FAXES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

MIA FARROW has apologised to British Members of Parliament after they were bombarded with faxes detailing information from the actress’ website.
The Rosemary’s Baby star is a human rights campaigner and is encouraging the U.K. government to help those effected by civil war in Sudan’s Darfur region.
Farrow, who recently fasted to raise awareness of the campaign, writes a daily blog online - but was left red-faced after MPs at the House of Commons in London were sent up to 60 pages from her site at least once a week for an entire month.
The star feared the online spy is trying to weaken her fight for the cause by deliberately spamming politicians.
Now she has offered an apology to the MPs who were disrupted by the documents, insisting she is not responsible for them.
In an email sent to the House of Commons, Farrow says, "I completely understand and share your frustration. Please be assured that I am not sending any such faxes and I have no idea who would do such a thing. My website is visited by thousands around the world. There is no way I can trace visitors or identify the individual who is doing this."

FOX PLANS NO MORE TV AFTER LOST

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

MATTHEW FOX has no plans to return to the small screen after he finishes filming hit TV show LOST - because making movies allows him to spend more time with his family.
Fox and wife Margherita have two children - 12 year old daughter Kyle and eight year old son Byron.
The filming for the sixth and final series of Lost begins later this year (09), and Fox plans to take up to six months off work afterwards to spend quality time with his family.
The star also insists when he returns to acting he will reduce his hectic schedule by only shooting one or two movies a year.
He says, "I am not going to do television again. That is not because I think film is better than television. Not at all, in some respects some of the best story telling is happening on television.
"I have done two TV shows - Lost and Party of Five - that have each run for six years. When you add it all up it is in the vicinity of 300 hours of television. I want to find a way to have more control over when I am working and when I’m not. I’m looking for more flexibility." Fox also admits he fears he will regret the amount of time he spends working: "I am 42 and a father of two children and I don’t want to miss them growing up. I don’t want to find myself 10 years from now feeling like I was an absentee father because I was so focused on my career."
