Former LED ZEPPELIN star ROBERT PLANT has been awarded a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) medal by PRINCE CHARLES in London.
The Stairway To Heaven singer was honoured by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace on Friday (10Jul09).
Plant admitted he was humbled to take part in a ceremony alongside "very selfless" military heroes and community volunteers.

HARRY POTTER stars DANIEL RADCLIFFE and EMMA WATSON have urged the film franchise’s bosses to burn their Hogwarts school uniforms when the series wraps - because they hated the outfits.
Co-star Rupert Grint has confessed to stealing one of his ties, but Radcliffe and Watson wanted nothing to do with their film school attire.
The actress says, "I was like, ‘Burn it!’ Oh, my God, to be done with those shoes and that uniform." And Radcliffe is also happy to ditch his robes. He tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "When you’re 18, one of the worst things to be wearing while trying to chat up a girl on the set is a school uniform.
"You look like a kid. You’re not going to score dressed like that."

Rocker BECK fears his outdoor concerts are cursed - because the elements have been known to put him in peril at festival appearances.
The Loser singer reveals one concert was scrapped after a direct lightning strike and others have been hit by hurricanes and typhoons.
He explains, "I played at this benefit concert where I was about to go on stage in 45 minutes. It was a clear blue sky and a bolt of lightning came out of nowhere.
"I was inside, but someone in the audience (got struck). I heard this crash, and looked outside and the whole venue was streaming out with people… They had to cancel the whole thing.
"I’ve had more outdoor shows cancelled from natural disasters - I was playing in Mexico once and some kind of hurricane came. (It) turned into chaos. One time I was in Japan. I was going to play on Mount Fuji and a typhoon hit."

Beloved singer-songwriter LEONARD COHEN is begging his peers to stop recording versions of his anthem HALLELUJAH - because he fears music fans will grow tired of the song if they keep hearing it.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member doesn’t like the fact his powerful ballad has become so popular again, thanks to cover versions by John Cale, Rufus Wainwright, k.d. lang, Jeff Buckley and Alexandra Burke, who scored a massive hit with the song after winning Britain’s X Factor talent show last year (08).
Cohen tells Britain’s The Guardian newspaper, "I was reading a review of a movie called Watchmen that uses it, and the reviewer said, ‘Can we please have a moratorium on Hallelujah in movies and television shows?’ and I kind of feel the same way. I think it’s a good song, but too many people sing it."

RYAN O’NEAL has been given a boost as he mourns the loss of his longtime girlfriend FARRAH FAWCETT - a California judge has promised to dismiss drug possession charges against him.
A Malibu Superior Court Judge told the actor on Friday (10Jul09) he was a model citizen during a progress report hearing related to his arrest in January (09) for possession of a controlled substance.
O’Neal pleaded guilty to possession, stemming from a September 2008 incident when he was arrested alongside his son, Redmond O’Neal, after authorities found methamphetamines during a search at his home.
Father and son were charged with felony drug possession in November (09).
O’Neal Sr, 67, was ordered to complete a drug program.
At Friday’s hearing, the judge told the actor that he would dismiss the case if O’Neal had completed his drug program by his next hearing in a year (16Jul10).
And there’s more good news for the actor - Redmond, who is serving time in a jail drug treatment program, is doing well.
Outside court, his dad said, "We have high hopes for Redmond."
