JACKSON TAKES OVER U.S. ALBUM CHART TOP 10

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:06 am

MICHAEL JACKSON has shattered his own week-long album chart record in America by claiming the entire top 10 slots in the Billboard Catalog Album countdown.
The King of Pop claimed nine of the top 10 last week (01Jul09), but he went one better when the new chart was released on Wednesday (08Jul09).
And, in doing so, the late star claims the top two selling albums in the U.S. - Number Ones and Thriller.
American chart compilers Nielsen SoundScan also estimate 4.3 million Jackson tunes have been legally downloaded since the singer’s death on 25 June (09), with nine hits downloaded more than 100,000 times each, and 16 songs downloaded more than 50,000 times this week alone. The top-seller is Man in the Mirror.
Jackson is also setting music video sales records, according to Billboard.com - his Number Ones collection was purchased 50,000 times this past week, and the top four spots on this week’s Music Video Chart belong to Jackson.
