BRITNEY SPEARS’ paparazzo ex-boyfriend ADNAN GHALIB has backed the singer’s former manager SAM LUTFI in a defamation suit filed against the star and her parents.
Lutfi filed suit against the Spears family in February (09) accusing them of defamation, libel, battery, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
He alleges comments Lynne Spears made in court - and later repeated in her book Through The Storm - including allegations Lutfi is a "Svengali", a "fake", and a "predator" subjected him to public ridicule.
According to court documents, Lutfi is "constantly in fear for my life", and he has now enlisted Ghalib as a character witness in the case.
Ghalib has written a declaration, claiming Lynne’s assertions that Sam was effectively holding Britney hostage were false, reports TMZ.com.
Spears - who romanced Ghalib back in 2007 - was granted a restraining order in March (09) against her ex, banning the snapper from going within 100 yards of her or her family members for the next three years. Lutfi was issued a similar order weeks later.

DANIEL RADCLIFFE has no plans to celebrate his 20th birthday later this month (Jul09) - because he’d rather work than party.
The Harry Potter star, who rose to fame in the wizard franchise as an 11 year old, will be saying goodbye to his teenage years on 23 July (09).
But the actor is so busy working, he won’t be holding a huge bash for friends and family.
He tells WENN, "I’m not really going to (celebrate). I’m just going to kind of keep going and I don’t know… I’m going to be working, I don’t really care. A birthday’s a birthday, you know. I’m not going to do anything too spectacular."

MADONNA and GUY RITCHIE are heading for a romantic reconciliation, according to astonishing new U.S. tabloid reports.
The pair confirmed months of speculation by splitting late in 2008 after almost eight years of marriage. Since their quickie divorce, Madonna has enjoyed reported romances with baseball star Alex Rodriguez and model Jesus Luz.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is baffled by reports he stood to inherit THE BEATLES’ back catalogue in MICHAEL JACKSON’s will.
The two superstars fell out when Jackson snapped up the rights to the Fab Four’s hits behind McCartney’s back in 1984.
After Jackson sold half his share to Sony Music back in 1995, it was speculated that the King of Pop planned to return his 50 per cent back to McCartney following his death.
The rumour was debunked when it emerged a 2002 will handed over Jackson’s entire estate to a family trust comprising of his mother and three children.
The news didn’t surprise McCartney - who insists he never believed he’d inherit the songs.
The singer tells Australian news site Undercover, "Some time ago, the media came up with the idea that Michael Jackson was going to leave his share in the Beatles songs to me in his will which was completely made up and something I didn’t believe for a second. Now the report is that I am devastated to find that he didn’t leave the songs to me. This is completely untrue.
"I had not thought for one minute that the original report was true and therefore, the report that I’m devastated is also totally false, so don’t believe everything you read folks!"

BETH DITTO has slammed rumours she has split up with her longterm girlfriend, insisting the pair is stronger than ever.
The openly gay Gossip singer has been dating her transgendered partner Freddie for nearly eight years and the pair lives together.
Ditto sparked speculation they had split after writing songs for the band’s latest album, Music For Men, in which she documents their tumultuous relationship.
But the star insists they are still happily together and she merely wrote the songs when the pair had to deal with her rise to fame following Gossip’s 2006 hit Standing in the Way of Control.
Ditto says, "We’re still together. But I write spontaneously, the words and the music together, so if we’ve just had a row then it all comes out. Freddie keeps saying: ‘Can’t you be more discreet?’ "But I was writing when things were going crazy after Standing in the Way of Control - all of a sudden really tumultuous, coming to Europe all the time. Campaigning rockers U2 are wreaking havoc on the environment by jetting around the globe on tour each year - according to eco experts.
Bono and his bandmates work tirelessly to help the poor in the developing world - but environment experts are calling on them to slow down their touring schedule because their jet-setting road trips are polluting the atmosphere.
Helen Roberts, environmental consultant at Carbonfootprint.com reveals, "The carbon footprint generated by U2’s 44 concerts this year is equal to carbon created by the four band members travelling the 34.125 million miles from Earth to Mars in a passenger plane. You also have to add the carbon emissions from the same number of concerts again next year.
"Just looking at the 44 concerts this year, the band will create enough carbon to fly all 90,000 people attending one of their Wembley concerts (in London) to Dublin. To offset this year’s carbon emissions, U2 would need to plant 20,118 trees." The Irish rockers are currently on their latest world tour, which kicked off in Barcelona, Spain last Tuesday (30Jun09).

LIL WAYNE has turned to a former FBI weapons expert to help prove his innocence on gun charges dating back to 2007.
The rapper is facing two second degree felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon after a police search of his tour bus during a stop in New York turned up a .40 Calibre handgun.
The Lollipop hitmaker has pleaded not guilty to the allegations, with his lawyers maintaining the arresting officer conducted the search illegally after claiming she smelled marijuana wafting from the bus in July 2007.
Wayne - real name Dwayne Carter, Jr. - insists the gun is registered to his manager Cortez Bryant, making it legal, and is challenging the method used by authorities to gain the DNA results which they claim connect him to the firearm.
And according to the New York Post, Wayne has hired ex-FBI geneticist Bruce Budowle to prove the cops’ results wrong and help him avoid prosecution.

RYAN GOSLING is moving from the big screen to the music studio - the actor is set to release his first album.
The Notebook star and his Dead Man’s Bones bandmate Zach Shields have signed with indie label Anti Records to release a self-titled debut disc in October (09).
And the actor credits contributions from from the Silverlake Conservatory Children’s Choir, a Los Angeles-based children’s chorus, with inspiring him to steer clear of pop music during the two-year recording process.
Gosling tells music website Pitchfork.com, "You know when you’re a kid and you get crayons and papers and just draw whatever you want and it’s just a bunch of messy lines, but to you it makes sense, and then they put it on the fridge? We wanted to get back to that place before we were trying to make the fridge. We wanted to work with people who hadn’t been affected in that way yet."

Actor TIMOTHY HUTTON has split from his wife AURORE GISCARD D’ESTANG, according to U.S. tabloid reports.
The couple married in 2000, and has a seven-year-old son, Milo.
Us Weekly reports the couple’s marriage is over and they are living apart.
Hutton also has a 22-year-old son, Emmanuel, with his ex-wife, actress Debra Winger.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s mother is fighting against the late superstar’s siblings’ wishes to bury the King of Pop at his Neverland Ranch, insisting her son never planned to return to the California estate he abandoned in 2005.
The Thriller hitmaker deserted the sprawling property in Santa Barbara County after detectives investigating allegations of child molestation against the star raided the place for evidence.
Jackson was vindicated of all charges but he refused to go back to Neverland and instead spent the last years of his life moving from rented house to rented house.
Last week (ends03Jul09), his older brother Jermaine Jackson hinted the singer could be laid to rest in the grounds of his former home, revealing he’s trying to win over his family with the idea - as well as authorities who ban burials outside cemetaries.
In a U.S. TV interview at Neverland, which aired last week (ends03Jun09), Jermaine said, "I love it here because I feel him here… This is his home, this is his creation. Why wouldn’t he be here? I feel his presence. It’s like he’s on tour somewhere, or just out somewhere, and it will always be like that.
"I want my mother to come back here and feel what I feel, my brothers, my sisters… because it is so important. I mean, he built this place with love, you can feel it, you can see it. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful." But the stars’ mum Katherine Jackson is allegedly firmly against the suggestion, and her refusal is causing a family rift, according to reports.
A source tells RadarOnline.com, "Michael left Neverland for good, never to return. He felt violated by law enforcement after his molestation trial. He felt this place he had built had been tainted. Katherine continues to be her son’s protector even after his death." Jackson’s body is currently being held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood, following his casket’s centre stage appearance at his celebrity memorial service at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Tuesday (07Jul09).
However, a newly-released death certificate lists Forest Lawn as a "temporary" site for the star’s remains, suggesting a final resting place has yet to be decided.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER and MATTHEW BRODERICK were stunned when doctors informed them they were to become parents to twins - because they would have felt blessed with just one baby.
The couple spent several years trying to conceive a sibling for their six-year-old son James Wilkie.
They eventually turned to a surrogate mother to help them expand their family.
Parker admits her long struggle to have another child left her feeling drained and she tried not to get her hopes up about becoming a mother again.
She was shocked when she learned the procedure had been successful, and admits the couple was still reeling from the news when they were told they were in for a double surprise.
She says, "We didn’t expect it. I think, after a certain amount of time, you tend to hold your hopes at bay so as not to be disappointed. One would have been thrilling and we would’ve felt lucky. And two was a comedy!" The couple’s surrogate mother gave birth to Marion and Tabitha last month (23Jun09).

More than 2,000 MICHAEL JACKSON fans gathered at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday night (07Jul09) to celebrate the King of Pop’s life with a song and dance.
Hours after the Thriller hitmaker was feted at a star-studded memorial service in Los Angeles’ Staples Center, devotees gathered in Cleveland to remember Jackson, a double Hall of Fame inductee, in a candlelight vigil.
Fans left floral tributes and notes to the singer inside the museum’s lobby and then headed to the building’s plaza to dance to a number of Jackson hits. They even provided onlookers with an a cappella rendition of Jackson 5 song I’ll Be There, led by a local church pastor.
Earlier in the day, Hall of Fame president and CEO Terry Stewart unveiled a special wall dedicated to the pop superstar.
Jackson was first honoured by the prestigious institution in 1997 as part of the Jackson 5, and received recognition for his solo achievements in 2001.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s dermatologist has added to the confusion surrounding the paternity of the late pop legend’s eldest children - insisting he’s not their biological father "to the best of my knowledge".
Reports surfaced last week (30Jun09) suggesting Dr. Arnold Klein was the true biological dad of Prince Michael I and Paris, the kids conceived during Jackson’s marriage to Debbie Rowe.
Klein initially refused to comment on the allegation, but he has now stepped forward, fuelling rumours Jackson’s children were not biologically his own.
He says, "I will tell you one thing: these are brilliant children and I want them in no way to be harmed because these are great, wonderful, fabulous children who he loved deeply.
"All I can tell you is to the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children. But I’m telling you if push comes to shove, I can’t say anything about it. But to the best of my knowledge, I’m not the father of these children. I can’t answer it in any other way because you know what, I don’t want to feed any of this insanity going around." Jackson’s youngest child, Prince Michael II - known as Blanket - was delivered by an anonymous surrogate, whose name doesn’t even feature on his birth certificate.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s longtime dermatologist has blasted reports he supplied the late King of Pop with powerful prescription drugs, insisting he attempted to ween the singer off his alleged addiction.
Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest on 25 June (09). Rumours have swirled about the circumstances leading up to his sudden passing, with reports suggesting he had a prolonged addiction to prescription painkillers.
Los Angeles police investigating the Thriller superstar’s passing have recruited the help of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) after discovering a number of pill bottles in his rented Holmby Hills, Hollywood mansion.
Several doctors who were known to have treated Jackson as a patient have also been questioned by cops over allegations they abused their power to write fake prescriptions for the late star - but Dr. Arnold Klein insists he was not one of the "criminals" who enabled Jackson’s alleged habit.
Klein says, "I was not one of the doctors who participated in giving him overdoses of drugs or too much of anything.
"In fact, I was the one who limited everything, who stopped everything." The medic claims he warned Jackson about the dangers of strong drugs like Dilaudid and Propofol, branding them "poison".
And Klein reveals he saw Jackson just three days before his tragic death - when the singer was in good health and high spirits as he showed off his fancy footwork in the dermatologist’s office: "He danced in my office. He danced for my patients."

DANIEL RADCLIFFE has denied he has a fetish for older women - insisting it’s purely coincidence he’s only dated ladies in their 20s.
The Harry Potter star reportedly refuses to go out with girls his own age because he finds them too high maintenance, and even his own mother insists he deliberately targets older ladies.
But the 19-year-old actor is adamant he is not a fan of the toyboy role, and has no specific age range in mind when looking for romance.
He tells WENN, "It’s just the fact I’ve been out with a couple of women that are slightly older than me and I don’t know, I just enjoy it more. I think it’s the mature thing if anything else, certainly. But then that was when I was a bit younger. When I was younger I liked older women but now… who knows? I don’t really have a type - my mum reckons I have a type, but I don’t." But Radcliffe does have one relationship rule - she has to be shorter than him.
The 5 feet 5 inches tall star adds: "I probably couldn’t ever go out with anyone who’s a lot taller than me. I mean look at me, you know - it wouldn’t be right."

Rocker PETE DOHERTY is facing a private prosecution over the death of a man who plunged from a balcony at a party attended by the controversial star.
The Babyshambles frontman was at a bash at an apartment in east London in December 2006 when an argument broke out among guests, leading to budding actor Mark Blanco toppling from a ledge onto the street below.
He later died in hospital from severe head injuries.
Blanco’s death came amid speculation that Doherty, his bodyguard Johnny ‘Headlock’ Jeannevol, and party host Paul Roundhill were involved in the incident.
Jeannevol even confessed to murder when interviewed by police - but later retracted it.
Cops ruled out suspicious circumstances and insisted Mr Blanco had either committed suicide or plunged to his death as he tried to jump on to a nearby lamp-post.
But suspicion still surrounds the case - and Doherty is now facing the possibility of legal action brought by the dead man’s mother, Sheila Blanco.
Her barrister, Michael Wolkind QC, says, "The investigation would relate to Doherty, Roundhill and Headlock. All three have questions to answer. The Blanco family is considering a private prosecution." A variety show - headed by British funnyman Jimmy Carr - to raise funds for the legal action will be held at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre on Wednesday (08Jul09).

Veteran rocker OZZY OSBOURNE has been left devastated after his beloved pet dog was killed by a coyote in Los Angeles.
The Black Sabbath star and his wife Sharon adopted pooch Little Bit after she was rescued from a puppy mill in a joint undercover operation between the National Geographic channel’s The Dog Whisperer and an animal welfare organisation.
But the pet was savaged by a prairie wolf earlier this week (07Jul09) - and Osbourne’s daughter Kelly insists her dad is heartbroken over the loss of the "other" female in his life.
Taking to her Twitter.com blog, Kelly writes: ":( my dad’s dog Little Bit was eaten by a coyete (sic) last night in L.A. and he is devastated. She was his other women (sic)!"
