Ann Dexter Jones heaped praise on her daughter, who has come in for some harsh criticism following her break-up with the Mean Girls star.
And Jones wants to keep her distance, to allow Ronson time to get over the ordeal alone.
She tells People.com, "She’s doing great. She’s really, really well. She’s always working. But I don’t pry. I’m giving her space. She’s strong and smart and with a great heart." But Jones declined to comment on her daughter’s ex: "Sam is a strong, fabulous girl. But I think it is good that I don’t comment on Lindsay." Several members of Lohan’s family have verbally attacked Ronson since the split, accusing the DJ of using the star to raise her profile.

Supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL is reportedly planning to move to Russia to set up home with her billionaire boyfriend.
The beauty has been dating Vladislav Doronin since May (08) and divides her time between her homes in London and New York.

GWYNETH PALTROW is auctioning off her old designer clothes for a poverty charity.
The Shakespeare In Love star is having a clear-out at her north London home after relocating to Los Angeles while she films Iron Man 2.
And she’s selling off 100 of her "most treasured things" in aid of the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps fight poverty in New York.
Boss of Flogit4u, Phillip Davies, who is overseeing the sale on auction website eBay, says, "Gwyneth is a neighbour of ours and is obviously familiar with what we do.
"She had a big clear-out of her wardrobe and wants to raise money for one of the charities she’s involved in. There are some amazing pieces from Jimmy Choo to Lanvin to Balenciaga."

The woman arrested outside BRITNEY SPEARS’ Los Angeles home has dismissed the incident as a "joke" - insisting she was filming a documentary about the paparazzi.
Miranda Tozier-Robbins was detained by police after she was caught peeping into the star’s empty home in Calabasas, California on Thursday morning (16Apr09).
The 26-year-old - who was booked on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct - was reportedly wearing combat fatigues and carrying a hand-held video camera.
And in an interview with Access Hollywood, Tozier-Robbins insists she was actually filming the singer’s residence as part of short movie about photographers and the media.
She says, "The whole thing - it was all a joke in the beginning, everybody knew about it. It was supposed to be like a Paparazzi 101 documentary type deal. I already knew Britney herself wouldn�t be there, but it�s like, I came that far, I might as well go see the house, at least get the house on tape, because I know people would be interested in seeing stuff like that.
"It�s a once in a lifetime opportunity, you understand? It wasn�t really stalking her, it was more plotting out how to get to her house.� Tozier-Robbins is scheduled to appear in court on 16 June (09).

The father of the Malawian girl MADONNA hoped to adopt claims he has been banned from visiting the youngster by the singer.
Madonna wanted to become mum to four-year-old Mercy James but her request for an interim adoption was turned down by a court in the country’s capital Lilongwe earlier this month (03Apr09).
The child was sent back to the Kondanai Children’s Home after the failed bid.
But her father, James Kambewa, has reportedly been banned from seeing his daughter.
Kambewa was due to be reunited with Mercy last week (begs13Apr09), but claims aides to Madonna whisked her back to the lodge the singer stayed at when she was in the country.
He tells Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper, "I don’t have any money and influence like Madonna, but I do have something that she doesn’t… I am the child’s flesh and blood. I’m sure Madonna thinks she has my daughter’s best interests at heart, but here in Malawi we value more than just money and power.
"I want to show my child love and to bring her into my home. Until I knew I was a father, I felt like a boy. But I feel like a man and I know my life must change.
"Imagine knowing you have a daughter but not being allowed to meet her. It’s too much pain for me to cope with. I am not going to give up my daughter without trying to be her father. I just wish I had realised sooner that I am a father. Now I fear it is too late." Madonna’s appeal on the adoption bid is set to be heard in an African court on 4 May (08).

Rapper/singer M.I.A. caused a headache for security at California’s Coachella music festival on Saturday (18Apr09) by inviting her fans to storm the stage.
The Paper Planes hitmaker took to the main stage on the second night of the legendary music event in Indio, California and was watched by stars including Paris Hilton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Drew Barrymore.
The singer, who last year (08) was forced to cut short her set at the festival after too many gig-goers joined her onstage, thanked the crowd for showing up and yelled, "Can I get some people up on the stage?" Several people in the audience complied and security attempted to stop them - much to the annoyance of M.I.A., who repeatedly shouted, "Let ‘em on!" The much anticipated duet with Lil Wayne, which the Brit star wrote about on her Twitter.com page earlier on Saturday, failed to materialise - but she did collaborate with rapper Rye Rye, who danced and sang back-up vocals on several songs.

MADONNA was rushed to a New York hospital in agony on Saturday (18Apr09) after she was thrown to the ground by a horse she was riding.
The Holiday hitmaker was admitted to Southampton Hospital, New York with minor injuries and bruises after the fall at her photographer friend Steven Klein’s Bridgehampton farm, which was witnessed by boyfriend Jesus Luz.
And the accident has been blamed on a photographer who was trying to snap the singer, according to her publicist Liz Rosenburg.
A statement reads, "The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island over the weekend. Madonna will be having further tests and continues to remain under observation by doctors." Madonna was released from the hospital on Saturday night.
The star has previously broken three ribs, a hand and her collar bone in an equestrian accident in 2005.

DANNY DYER turned down a starring role in a British soap opera - because he was terrified of the huge amount of publicity the show receives.
The movie tough-guy was approached to appear in hit U.K. show EastEnders, which chronicles life in London.
But Dyer rejected the role, which was devised with him in mind - because the series’ stars regularly make headline news in Britain.
He says, "I met John Yorke, controller of drama production. He asked if I would be willing to go in and shake up a few of the characters.
"He said they would write a synopsis and then take me out to dinner and anything I wanted to change, I could change, which gives me a bit of power.
"I quite like the idea of it. But actually, in reality, I just got cold feet. Just from having a meeting it’s all over the newspapers and it gave me the horrors. Imagine if I went in it.
"With the EastEnders thing the whole publicity gets out of hand. It’s like a whole new beast. It’s not something I fancy. I don’t want to write if off totally but at this point in my career I think it would be madness."

Trash-talking THE WRESTLER star MICKEY ROURKE has threatened to serve up a beat down on U.S. TV pundit JOEL MCHALE - after the E! News presenter poked fun at the actor’s dead dog.
The movie star is still mourning the loss of his beloved chihuahua Loki, who died just before the Oscars in February (09), and he didn’t take kindly to McHale’s recent comments about the pooch.
On his show, The Soup, the funnyman said, "Many say it was a pretty gay friendly Oscars (and) we think it could have been even gay friendlier, here’s how… a tribute to Mickey Rourke’s chihuahua." But, at the premiere of his new film The Informers in Hollywood on Thursday (16Apr09), Rourke sent out a warning to McHale: "Who’s the guy who made fun of my dog…? Motherf**cker! Who’s that guy, Joel McHale? He’s gonna get a slap in the face… That ain’t right. If you see him, tell him he’s gonna get a slap in the face."’

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE child star RUBINA ALI is at the centre of sensational newspaper claims that her father has offered her up for sale - for $300,000 (£200,000).
The nine-year-old’s dad, Rafiq Qureshi, allegedly put his daughter on the market for the huge sum - and blamed her movie star status for his decision to sell her.
Qureshi was approached at his home in Mumbai, India by an undercover reporter for British newspaper the News Of The World, who claimed to be acting on behalf of a wealthy Arab sheik who wanted to adopt the child.
Qureshi told the journalist, "We are considering Rubina’s future. Obviously if you wanted to adopt we could discuss this, but her parents would also expect some proper compensation in return. We are talking of around £50,000 for this to happen. We can discuss everything about this deal when we meet. There’s a lot of interest in Rubina, she’s become very famous." But in a further call, he allegedly told the reporter he planned to sell his daughter to the highest bidder - and expected $300,000 (£200,000) from the sale.
And Qureshi’s brother declared, "The child is special now. This is NOT an ordinary child. This is an Oscar child!" A source tells the newspaper, "Rubina’s family are furious that despite the film doing so well and their pretty daughter becoming so famous, they are still living in such rough conditions… Dad Rafiq is streetwise and knows that soon his daughter’s success will be forgotten and her moment of fame will be over. He has a family to feed and simply can’t afford it. He is keen to find a rich family to bring up Rubina but only if they are willing to help the whole family to get out of the slums." Officials at children’s charities have expressed their concern over the case, and have pledged to help Ali.

MARIANNE FAITHFULL’s on/off boyfriend FRANCOIS RAVARD has been arrested after an airport row allegedly turned violent.
The 61-year-old singer and her French partner were due to board a plane at London’s Gatwick airport on Friday (17Apr09) to fly to Italy ahead of a planned concert on Saturday (18Apr09).
But after being informed they were carrying an excessive amount of luggage, Ravard, 51, is said to have become angry, leading to concerns amongst British Airways staff that he was too "intoxicated" to fly.
He is then alleged to have lashed out at the airport’s duty manager, who had been brought in to calm the situation.
Police attended the scene and Ravard was arrested, while Faithfull was also questioned by cops.
The singer was later released and allowed to board the flight.
A British Airways spokesman tells U.K. newspaper the Daily Mirror, "A male customer became aggressive and abusive at check-in when he was refused travel on a flight from Gatwick to Bologna. He appeared to be intoxicated at check-in.
"In such circumstances an assessment is made as to whether the passenger is fit to travel. When he was refused travel, he became physically and verbally abusive. Police were called and he was arrested. Such behaviour will not be tolerated." A police spokesman confirmed the incident, but revealed they will not be pressing charges against Ravard: �A 51-year-old man from Paris was cautioned for assault on a British Airways staff member.� The couple - who have been together for 15 years - was recently said to have split after Faithfull announced in an interview that the relationship "broke up".

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star ZAC EFRON dreads running into ANGELINA JOLIE on the red carpet - because he gets tongue-tied whenever he is around the Hollywood beauty.
The 21-year-old has met the Tomb Raider star on several occasions and admits he always gets embarrassed when she tries to strike up a conversation with him.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY used his appearance at California’s Coachella music festival on Friday (17Apr09) to pay tribute to his late wife LINDA - who died 11 years ago to the day.
The Beatles legend took to the stage to headline the first night of the legendary music event in Indio, California, which runs until Sunday (19Apr09).
Friday’s date had extra significance to the star as his beloved first wife lost her battle with cancer on 17 April 1998.
And McCartney used the opportunity to pay tribute to his late partner, dedicating his song Foxy Lady to her memory and telling the crowd, "It’s an emotional day for me. That’s good, that’s OK. Lot of heart, lot of emotion."

HUGH JACKMAN accidentally stabbed a stuntwoman in the arm while filming the first X-MEN movie - during a fight scene as his clawed character WOLVERINE.
The Australian actor had to wear real metal talons while filming the 2000 comic book blockbuster and admits handling the prop was quite dangerous.
Jackman recalls one incident which left Rebecca Romijn’s stunt double seriously hurt - forcing moviemakers to rethink how to film the scenes involving the superhero’s famous claws.
He says, "On the very first film we had real metal claws and the girl who was playing Mystique, Rebecca Romijn, her stunt double and I were doing a fight sequence in the Statue of Liberty. I went to stab her in the arm, which was part of the choreography, and she’s meant to move her arm away and she forgot and the thing went right into her arm, like an inch.
"I was stunned. It was one of those things, it was so deep, there was a hole, there was no blood coming out and then like a minute later, it was like a geyser. I didn’t faint and I thought she was going to freak out, but she just said, ‘Yes! I have been stabbed by Wolverine!’ Typical stuntwoman." And Jackman admits that subsequent efforts to prevent him using real metal claws were not particularly successful - and even involved him using a fake limb with one arm tucked behind his back. The prop was only used in one scene before it was discarded.
Jackman’s latest outing as the superhero, X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits cinemas on 1 May (09).

Funnyman SACHA BARON COHEN has reportedly apologised to MADONNA for mocking her in his new movie BRUNO - sending the singer flowers and a sympathetic note in light of her recent adoption troubles.
The movie tells the story of an outrageous gay Austrian fashion correspondent hoping to make it big in Hollywood, and one scene featured the character joking about stars who adopt foreign children.
The actor collects an African baby out of a box on an airport baggage carousel before turning to the camera and saying, "Angelina’s got one, Madonna’s got one, now Bruno’s got one." Madonna welcomed Malawian tot David Banda into her family in 2006 but recently had her application to adopt three-year-old Mercy James turned down by a court in the country.
And Cohen is now said to have reached out to the star to apologise for his jokes about the sensitive situation, according to British newspaper the Daily Mirror.
A source tells the publication, "Sacha is always out to make great comedy - and if he upsets people along the way, so be it. But when word reached him that Madonna thought his sketch was insensitive, he sent her a bouquet of flowers to say, ‘No hard feelings’." Cohen and Madonna are said to have been pals since the singer invited him to star in the video for her 2000 hit Music.

A host of British pop stars, including GABRIELLE, LULU and rockers THE AUTOMATIC will perform at a special festival to raise money for injured servicemen and women later this year (09).
The Royal British Legion’s Festival For Heroes will take place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England on 20 June (09).
The event will also feature rapper Ironik, dance troupe Ultrabeat and classical quartet Escala - with organisers also hoping to attract Sir Elton John for a guest appearance.
Rise hitmaker Gabrielle says, "I am very honoured to have been asked to perform. It is an amazing cause and deserves as much support as possible." Proceeds from the 30,000-strong crowd will go to help those injured in wars such as Iraq or Afghanistan, and to families of those killed on duty.
