LEWIS IN RIDING ACCIDENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

British singer LEONA LEWIS has been forced to delay the recording of her forthcoming album after she was reportedly hit in the face by a horse.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker was riding the animal in Los Angeles earlier this month (Apr09) when it turned on her.
The 24 year old was knocked to the ground and split her lip in the accident, according to reports.
And the accident has apparently pushed back the recording schedule for her second album, which is due for release in November (09).
A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, "Something startled the horse and it flicked its head back and smacked Leona full in the face. She was knocked flying by the force of it. Everyone rushed over to see if she was okay, she was holding her face in agony.
"Thankfully she didn’t need any surgery, but she was told to stay at home and rest just in case she passed out with concussion. She doesn’t blame the horse though - it was just one of those things." "She had been due in the studio to record, but she felt shaken up so they had to cancel. It has pushed everything back, but she’s such a grafter she’ll easily make up for lost time."

COLLINS’ HAPPY FAMILY DOWN TO HUSBAND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:33 am

Former DYNASTY star JOAN COLLINS has credited her toyboy husband with bringing her family back together.
Collins, 75, wed 43-year-old Percy Gibson in 2002 after four previous marriages, which produced three children - and she claims the theatre impresario is responsible for ending years of estrangement between her and daughters Tara and Katie, and son Sacha.
The actress admits her relationship with her kids has been "fragmented" in the past - but her marriage to Gibson has helped bring the family a lot closer.
She says, "He has brought our family together so much. I have three children by two previous husbands and it’s always been a bit fragmented and Percy has managed to make our whole family meld into one unit.
"My three children and three grandchildren and also my sister and brother. It’s all consolidated now, which it used not to be. He’s the most wonderfully diplomatic and kind (person). He’s wonderful and he genuinely loves them all, which I think makes a difference."

SIMPSON AUCTIONEER SETTLES WITH DR. PHIL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:27 am

An auctioneer caught up in the O.J. SIMPSON hotel heist who sued DR. PHIL for defamation and fraud after appearing on his talk show has accepted a settlement from the U.S. TV personality.
The former American football star was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison in December (08) after being convicted of orchestrating a sports memorabilia heist at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in September 2007.
Thomas Riccio, who arranged the meeting between Simpson and sports memorabilia collector Bruce Fromong, agreed to be interviewed by Dr. Phil - real name Philip McGraw - about the incident, but claims the footage was edited to alter the meaning of his words.
Riccio accused McGraw of falsely claiming that he "set O.J. Simpson up and told people to bring guns into the room", insisting his denials were cut from the final interview and instead replaced with footage of him nodding, appearing to agree with the host.
He filed a lawsuit seeking compensation from McGraw and production company Stage 29 Media for the emotional distress of being portrayed in a false light.
But a settlement between the parties has now been reached, according to a joint statement from Riccio and McGraw’s lawyers.
The amount has not been disclosed.

30 SECONDS TO MARS RESOLVE RECORD LABEL LAWSUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 am

Rockers 30 SECONDS TO MARS have struck a new deal with their record label - just months after the two parties were involved in a $30 million (£20.7 million) legal spat.
The A Beautiful Lie hitmakers, fronted by actor Jared Leto, were hit with a lawsuit from their bosses at Virgin Records in August (08) after allegedly failing to produce an agreed number of albums.
They claimed 30 Seconds To Mars were due to release six albums on Virgin - but quit in July (08) after only completing half the required number of records.
Leto fired back at the music executives for going public with the issues and insisted the band stopped recording because they still hadn’t been paid for their previous efforts.
But now the rockers have resolved their differences with the record company, and are looking forward to releasing new music for their fans.
Leto says, "It’s great to finally move forward and focus on what’s most important to us all - the music. We are excited about starting over with the many talented people at Virgin/EMI, and to sharing our new music with the fans in the very near future. We will never forget the unrelenting support from all our friends, family, and fans around the world." And the record label bosses are equally thrilled to have the band back on board.
EMI Music’s President of A&R Labels, Nick Gatfield, says, "We are thrilled to have set aside our differences and signed a new agreement with 30 Seconds to Mars." The band’s third album, This Is War, is scheduled for release later this year (09).
