RUSSIAN SINGER SILENCED BY GIBSON’S LAWYERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

A Russian pop star who allegedly had an affair with MEL GIBSON has been silenced by the actor’s lawyers.
Gibson’s wife Robyn filed for divorce last week (13Apr09), citing "irreconcilable differences" following intense speculation about the state of the couple’s 28-year marriage.
Gossips were sent into a spin after the Lethal Weapon star was photographed embracing a woman on a Costa Rican beach last month (Mar09).
Singer Oksana Pochepa insists she is the bikini-clad brunette in the pictures - and maintains she has fallen for the actor.
But the 24 year old alleges she has been forced to keep quiet by Gibson’s lawyers, who fear any further revelations could cost the actor a huge chunk of his fortune in a divorce settlement.
Pochepa says, “Until Mel and his wife Robyn settle their relations, no one has the right to speak about this. It is unfair. It’s not normal. As soon as the divorce happens, I will be able to comment.
“He is a superb man. I have no choice except to keep silent now.” The Gibsons wed in 1980 and have seven children. According to legal papers, Robyn is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s youngest son, Tom. She is also asking for spousal support and attorney’s fees.

LOHAN: ‘I’M NOT DANGEROUS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:45 am

LINDSAY LOHAN has voiced her shock at the way her relationship with DJ SAMANTHA RONSON ended - insisting she did not deserve to be threatened with a restraining order.
The pair split in March (09), followed by reports that Ronson’s family had contacted Los Angeles police in a bid to keep the former lovers apart.
Lohan was rumoured to have attempted to barge into a family event held at the city’s Chateau Marmont hotel earlier this month (Apr09) after she had been banned from attending it. Ronson was subsequently photographed having the locks changed on the Hollywood Hills home she shared with the actress.
But the bitter break-up came as a surprise for Lohan, who insists she had no idea Ronson was trying to remove her from her life.
In an interview with U.S. TV host Ellen DeGeneres, Lohan says, "I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn’t seen her in like, a week. She like, disappeared." And the Mean Girls star is baffled by how Ronson’s family reacted to her at the end of her relationship with the DJ - insisting she has never done anything to provoke Ronson’s sister Charlotte into calling the cops.
"I was like, I don’t understand. It came out of nowhere. I’ve supported Charlotte and I’ve never done anything for people to assume I’m dangerous." However, Lohan insists the break-up is for the best, as she is ready to get her career back on track - and keep her personal life out of the press.
She adds, "I don’t know what happened but everything fell into place and everything is really moving and going on and it feels really good.
"I didn’t get into this business to be a celebrity on the cover of tabloids and I’ve been a target and I’m not that interesting. It distracts people - studio heads, everyone, and they get nervous. I’ve been through a lot. I was 19-years-old when things happened and I’m ready to work. I’m responsible and I can be on time and I learn from my mistakes."

GIBSON’S STRICT PRE-NUP DETAILS REVEALED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 am

Singer/actor TYRESE GIBSON’s ex wife NORMA was lucky to receive a $65,000 (£46,000) divorce payout - she signed a pre-nuptial agreement to walk away without a settlement if they ever split.
The former model filed for divorce from Norma in January (09), citing irreconcilable differences following 10 months of marriage.
Norma challenged Gibson’s petition and accused him of being a bad father to their two year old daughter Shayla, prompting a judge to grant her $65,000 (£46,000) as well as ordering a temporary ruling in her favour for $6,230 (£4,420) a month in support, $2,730 (£1,935) to cover her rent, and a further $800 (£568) towards her car payments.
And the deal came as a surprise because Gibson had drawn up a pre-nuptial agreement to stop Norma from receiving any money unless they pair was married for over a year.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ.com, the agreement stated Norman would not be entitled to any of Gibson’s estate, and would only get a $50,000 payout for every 12 months of marriage.
The papers also say that Gibson had the right to throw his ex out of their home if either side filed for a separation or divorce.

SCREECHING BEYONCE RECORDING A HOAX

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:39 am

BEYONCE’s singing abilities are no longer in question - the person behind the recording of the singer’s screeching version of IF I WERE A BOY has admitted it was all a hoax.
An alleged "board mix" from the singer’s performance on America’s The Today Show was played by shock jock Howard Stern on his radio show on Wednesday (22Apr09), and the audio quickly circulated the internet.
Fans were stunned to hear Beyonce wailing a tone-deaf rendition of her hit into the mic.
Knowles’ father Matthew quickly jumped to his daughter’s defence, branding anyone who believed the "altered" recording to be his daughter an "idiot".
And Knowles was proved right - celebrity website TMZ.com has posted an interview with the faker behind the recording, who admits the prank went too far.
The unnamed hoaxer tells the site, "It’s a little bit crazy. No one in their right mind would sound like that, and no one would cheer for someone singing like that." But Beyonce isn’t too bruised by the practical joke - insisting she will prove her talents with another performance on the Today show on Thursday (23Apr08).
She adds, "Everyone’s heard me sing and it’s perfect timing, actually, because I’ll be on the Today show tomorrow singing Halo, or tonight you can watch me sing live on David Letterman! "It’s perfect promotion, whoever came up with that idea."

KAPOOR KEEN TO GET SLUMDOG KID FOR SALE STORY STRAIGHT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:39 am

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE star ANIL KAPOOR is keen to get back to his native India so he can investigate reports his young co-star RUBINA ALI’s father tried to sell her.
The Bollywood actor is in Hollywood, where he’s being honoured at the seventh annual Indian Film Festival, and he admits he has lost contact with the kids in the hit film.
But he’s determined to return to the real-life slums in Mumbai and track down the young stars - to make sure they’re all OK after their brush with overnight success.
In the meantime, he’s distressed whenever he hears the youngsters have been caught up in negative press stories - and can’t believe the British tabloid reports Ali’s father tried to sell her to a bogus Middle Eastern couple.
Indian police have failed to find any evidence to prove Rafiq Qureshi attempted to sell his young daughter for $300,000 (£200,000).
Kapoor admits he always feared the child stars of Slumdog Millionaire would be exploited upon their return to India after a trip to the Oscars in February (09).
He says, "That’s the worry we always had. We all discussed that… When they’re exposed to this kind of limelight this is what is going to be the disadvantages (sic)."

SLADE SIGNS AS ECLIPSE DIRECTOR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 am

The cast of the TWILIGHT franchise are in for a scary ride when filming starts on the vampire series’ third outing ECLIPSE - horror moviemaker DAVID SLADE has been signed to the project.
Speculation over the director of the third bloodsucking movie has been rife over recent months, with Drew Barrymore and Juan Antonia Bayona both being linked to the coveted position.
Catherine Hardwicke broke records with her take on Twilight, while Chris Weitz is currently in charge of the forthcoming sequel New Moon.
But bosses at film studio Summit and author of the books from which the films are adapted, Stephenie Meyer, have given the green light for the third picture, Eclipse, to take a more sinister twist - by hiring scare master Slade.
The director is famous for his dark films, including Hard Candy in 2005, and has already worked with the vampire genre - directing 2007’s critically acclaimed 30 Days Of Night.
And Meyer is adamant Slade is the right guy for the job: "I am thrilled that David Slade will be directing Eclipse. He’s a visionary filmmaker who has so much to offer this franchise.
"From the beginning, we’ve been blessed with wonderful directorial talent for the Twilight Saga, and I’m so happy that Eclipse will be carrying on with that tradition."

FARROW FAST COULD CAUSE ‘IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 am

MIA FARROW has ignored the pleas of her doctor to embark on her three-week hunger strike for Sudan - brushing off warnings the fast could cause "permanent, irreversible damage" to her body.
The actress, a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, announced she will risk her life by drinking only water from the end of April (09) in a bid to show "solidarity" with the people in the devastated Darfur region.
The star hopes the act will highlight her personal disgust at world leaders, who she claims have failed to take action to stop the bloodshed in the country - and will go without food for 21 days to prove her point.
She says, "I’m just an actress. I’m not presuming anybody will care whether I starve to death or whether I go on a long hunger strike or what. But it’s a personal matter. I can’t be among those that watch - and I honestly couldn’t think of anything else to do." And although the star has been warned the fast could have a devastating effect on her health, she has decided to ignore the advice of medics.
She adds, "(I told my doctor) Please don’t even try to talk me out of this. I don’t know what will happen - I have no idea. I looked it up online just to see kind of what to expect, and the reason I’m gonna try to go for three weeks is because you do permanent, irreversible damage, possibly to your organs. But it is a punishment to the body for sure."

HOWARD LASHES OUT AT MARVEL BOSSES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 am

TERRENCE HOWARD is still fuming over the decision to axe him from the IRON MAN sequel - accusing studio bosses of trying to short-change the entire cast.
The actor was stunned to learn he would not reappear in the 2010 follow-up to the smash blockbuster, after producers signed Don Cheadle in the part of Iron Man/ Tony Stark’s best friend Jim Rhodes.
He initially dismissed rumours that a pay row was to blame for the sacking, but now the star has hinted that executives at the movie’s Marvel studio went back on their word in the money stakes.
Howard tells Parade.com, "(Producers) made a choice, and it was a very, very bad choice. They didn’t keep their word. They didn’t honour my contract. They produced a great bounty with the first one but they put it all in the storehouse and you were not allowed in." And the actor believes he wasn’t the only one who was duped by the studio, insisting the whole cast’s contracts were dishonoured - including that of Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow.
He adds, "They did the same thing with Gwyneth Paltrow, from what I’ve been told. They did it with almost everyone except Robert Downey."
